Unknown POV:
So the alpha has a mate now right? Is he thinking that he would get to enjoy the mate bond I did not have the luxury of? Hilarious fellow.
Look how torn he is about her fitting into the pack because she is not a warrior wolf, cute.
This was going to be too easy. A little whisper here, a little whisper there and I can watch the seed of doubt grow. Oh well, time to go be useful to the pack, the warriors are not going to train themselves.
Endrei’s POV:
After the disastrous introduction my family and I were finally on our way to the Blaze warrior pack with everything we were allowed to carry. Gamma Donald was quite prissy about the stuff mum wanted with her saying the house was already furnished.
The house in itself was gorgeous. We spent a lot of time just taking in the exterior, my mum was going to love it here extensively.
There was a change in the air and the alpha materialized. I immediately felt the sizzle of the mate bond rearing its head in the presence of our mate. I tried to not embarrass myself as I did the last time we were together. I still can’t believe that I purred at his touch.
“Welcome, I hope the house is to your taste.” Alpha Arthur said and I tried not to flush as I heard his voice. He did not bother to communicate during the week I spent with me.
I zoned out of the conversation, the next thing I knew it was just the both of us. To say it was awkward was an understatement. So I cleared my throat.
“Umm, shall we?” I pointed towards the house and he nodded his head and we went in.
Alpha Arthur’s POV:
It has been three weeks since Endrei and her family have moved into the pack lands and I can clearly see that she was not doing well; her siblings were trying to blend in, her parents were helping around the pack house but my sweet mate was dodging anyone and everyone. Right now Delta Maeve was in my office giving me the daily reports from her class and once again Endrei was absent.
“Sir I think you should talk to Luna, there is so much room for change but if she is unwilling there is nothing I can do about that. There is no effort on her part, I understand that she is not used to this lifestyle but we need her to step up to her role so the rumors can die down on how she is unworthy and the rest of it. Sometimes she comes for her personal training but that is not enough, we need her to interact with the pack members.” Delta Maeve said to me and I raked my hand through my hair in frustration.
I already heard the whispers, they were not good. She only did one training and had never returned to the training fields. I have tried to spend some time with her family but still nothing. It was almost like she did not care.
Delta Maeve was helping but I couldn't help but hear the hidden message, something I was also fully aware of. She was not made to be by my side.
“Call Beta Kingsley and Gamma Donald. We need to talk now.” I said to Delta Maeve who gave me a concerned look before going to call them from their offices. They were seated in front of me in no time.
“I do not think that Luna Endrei is suited for this job. She is not living up to par and I sincerely do not know what to do, but if I try to communicate with her the mate bonds blurs all sense of reasoning and I do not want to give the pack an unworthy Luna. I am going to reject her, she would be better suited with a male from her side of the pack anyway.” I said to them but I did not receive a response. Beta Kingsley kept his face blank, same as Gamma Donald because they understood what was at stake for her.
Only Delta Maeve looked a little concerned. But my decision was going to stand. Now all I needed was to carry it out before my wolf convinced me otherwise.
“Send for her Beta Kingsley. The sooner we get this done the better.” I said to Beta Kingsley.
The door opened and she stepped in, I do not know who moved first but the next series of events were a blur as skin met skin and I thrust home. Everything was just blissful. By the time sense returned we were gasping for breath on my office couch, the evidence of what we just did thick in the air.
I stood up and backed her as I pulled on my pants. I called her here for a reason.
“I think we should put an end to this. It is what’s best for everyone, and I am sorry if this was not the future you envisioned. It can’t be helped. I Alpha Arthur Flint reject you Endrei Harlan as my Luna and mate.” I said to her with my back still turned. Then I walked right out of the office without looking back.
