Chapter 4- Mate

Pov- Christian

It’s 9:00 am in the morning, the plane arrived a little later than expected. We headed to school, to go to the usual welcome home ceremony that we get every time we return from vacation, that our parents force us to go to, to thank the caring citizens of this pack for not hating us or whatever. The car ride from the airport to the school is long as hell. It takes us an hour and a half to reach. As soon as we arrived, we received a rogue report which is pretty unusual because pack security is pretty tight in Blood Levada. “I will go check it out,” Kyle says being the natural-born leader he is. Theodore motions to Kyle to listen as he gets up to leave. “It might just be a Rogue from the New School program breaking the rules. It is probably is no cause for concern.” Theodore tries to explain as Kyle heads out the door. Jason and Michael get up to follow him. Michael turns to talk to us “ You guys can go to the ceremony with the other pack Alphas, we will go ahead.” Austin complains “ why do I always have to get stuck with this boring bookwork, while you guys get to do all the fun stuff? At least Chris knows how to have fun.” He says like a little child bothering his parents to buy him ice cream. Theodore sighs and turns to Michael and Jason while ignoring Austin’s presence. “ We will stay here, there are a lot more Alpha’s that can attend the ceremony with us so it’s fine if you don’t come,” he says. I shrug my shoulders, “ It’s fine by me, you guys go ahead we’ll head to the ceremony" I hate lying but I was not going to that stupid assembly if Kyle was not going to go, there was no one to blab to my parents about me not being responsible, and Theo wouldn’t say sh*t, he just minds his business, and looks at me with his judgemental stare. I wait for the others to turn into wolf form and head to the forest to check out the mysterious rogue. As soon as they are far from my line of sight, I turn to Theo and Austin and put on a devious smile on my face. Austin looked as if he realized what I meant and put on the same smile. Theo looked confused and creeped out by the entire situation. “What the hell is wrong with you two?" Theo shouts as if he is seeing his friends getting possessed by aliens. I raised my hands in pretend confusion, “ Nothing much,... it’s just that we are gonna ditch the assembly” I say as an even bigger smirk comes on my face, Theo looks as if he was about to protest, so me and Austin jump on him to cover his mouth, we literally had to sit there for twenty minutes trying to convince him about the benefits of not going to the assembly and that we should have some fun because we’re young and before our Alpha duties took up our time, which after giving us a lecture on how Kyle is going to kill us, he hesitantly agreed, I guess his philosophy is that if he was with us, we wouldn’t get ourselves into any deeper trouble than we were gonna be in. After a while, we all headed to the lunchroom to sit at our usual table that was reserved for all our friends and the girls who we chose to hang out with. When we arrived at the lunchroom, a bunch of suprised faces greeted us and everyone hurriedly got out of their seats to bow their heads. I signaled for them to get up, I feel weird when people greet me like this, even though it’s because I have Alpha Blood of one of the top packs, and that is the courtesy of how you’re supposed to greet us, it makes me a bit uncomfortable. A couple of cute girls walk over to us, they clearly had the intention of flirting. They were cute so I decided to entertain them. “Can I help you girl with something?” I say, trying to sound authoritative, which I know is how these types of girls like it. They giggled as the simple presence of Alpha’s excites them. Theo sighs in annoyance as he is trying to fight off his own set of girls who seem to try to be grabbing his attention. Austin is flirting with his own set of girls as they are trying to press themselves closer to him as if that will make them his mate. “AVERY YOU SL*T” a voice yells as a guy in a basketball jersey strolls up to pull a redhead girl from Austin and push her away out of the fight he was thinking of starting. “ Who do you think you are?" he shouts as he roughly turns Austin around, ready to punch him. Basketball Jersey, angry face turned into shock and fright after he saw who it was he was talking to. “ I’m sorry, …. I didn't know it was you” he says with visible worry on his face as he cowers below Austin. Austin seemed unphased and with an unusually calmer voice just smiled and took him into a rough one-arm hug. “ It's cool man, you’re just mad about your girl being all over another man. I respect that, want to hang out for a bit, I’ve got some time” Basketball jersey looked relieved and grateful for Austin not kicking his ass so he said yes. After a while of talking to some cute girls and Austin chilling with the rest of the basketball team and their hot girlfriends and Theo trying his hardest not to hit the girls that keep on pestering him. The biggest slut of the school strolled up to me with a puppy dog face. I don’t know why she is still bothering me. We slept together once, and she went around the school saying we were dating, she still sends nudes to my phone every day even though I told her multiple times to stop. I don’t even know how she got my number, I’m considering putting her on a restraining order if she keeps on bothering me. “Hey, Chris baby, why haven’t you returned my calls?” She says as if she doesn’t know that I’m not interested in her. “What do you want Samantha,” I say in a growl which causes her to cower back at my Alpha tone. I sigh, regretting losing my temper on her, she is so not worth me getting myself upset. She takes my calmness as an invitation to come closer to me and kiss my neck. She might not be my mate, and annoying as hell but she is still a female and I’m a male, so I won’t deny her touch even if she is a psycho cheating b***h. The other girls saw this and they joined in on the horny fest and started kissing me, one girl hopped in my lap to get more access to my lips, another girl started kissing all over my neck, they alternated positions after every minute they each wanted a taste of my lips, hoping could be their mate, this went on for quite a while, I could tell they were enjoying this just as much as me by their consistent enthusiasm. While two of the girls were changing positions, I got a whiff of this sweet smell of cookies and cream ice cream that me and my grandma used to make when I was a kid. This is pretty weird because I know the lunch ladies are not serving ice cream as dessert and the girls certainly don’t have that as a perfume. The smell increased, and my wolf started to pace back and forth out of control like he was losing patience. I couldn't concentrate on these lovely ladies and I felt like I couldn’t breathe so I stopped kissing to catch my breath and when I looked up, I met with the shocked eyes of my ...“Mate” I blurted out, without even realizing it. The whole cafeteria looked in our direction, even Theo and Austin stopped what they were doing and looked at me shocked at the words that came out of my mouth. I couldn’t believe it, I found my mate and he was a male, he looked shocked as me, he was frozen in place and not moving, Theo and Austin looked at me, to say something, to signal if I was being serious or not. I was shocked, I had so many questions, some of which probably had no answers. I know having a male mate was not impossible, rare, but not impossible. Even though I was shocked I had the need to hold him, kiss him, and learn all about him. I know it was just the mate bond, but still, even though I didn’t know him, I loved him, even though this was strange for me, I would still accept him, I wouldn’t dare reject him, I know that corny coming from me, but looking at my mate shocked unmoving expression, I can’t help but fall deeper in love with him. My wolf was fighting with me to give in to my primal nature and just claim him right here right now on this floor, and honestly, I’m not trying to hold back so I just gave in to my nature, I tackled my mate to the floor, which definitely took him by surprise. I have so many questions for him, but all that can wait. I just want to stare at my mate admiring him. For a male, he had soft features, which made him very pretty. He dressed in a very casual style, he didn't dress like he was rich but he didn’t dress like he was poor. He dressed as he didn’t care to impress, which makes him more interesting to me, and from lying on top of him, I could sense that he worked out a lot and had muscles, not a lot but enough to make him a good fighter which makes him ever more breathtaking to me, he seems so delicate but at the same time he seems strong, but even though my mate is perfect I was a little upset, since I could sense that he was a rogue. Not only was he a male, but he was also a rogue. The moon goddess is really trying to get back at me for that pregnancy scare, isn’t she? “ What’s your name gorgeous?" I say to him with a deep flirtatious voice, but he doesn’t say anything just stare at me in shock with a blush creeping on his face, which makes me smile. My mate is just so precious. There is something off about my mate sent. I can smell that he is a werewolf but, I cant sense his wolf. My wolf is pacing back and forth inside of me begging me to kiss him and I happily imply, but as I lean in to kiss him, instead of being met with the warmth of his lips, I’m met with the coldness of his kick, which leaves me flying into the hair and knocking over some chairs. I quickly got up a little dazed, to see my mate had disappeared. I chased after my mate who ran out of the lunchroom, while everyone was still in a look of shock. Theo and Austin make gestures to ask me if I need help, but I just ignore them. I can’t have my mate leave me, not when I've been waiting for him so long. I don’t understand why he is acting so strangely. He should be running into my arms not away from them. I followed my mates sent all the way out of the school and into the parking lot. There I saw him turning the ignitions on, to a beat-up-looking Toyota. I know I'm in the process of losing my mate but I can't help but think of the new upgraded expensive car I’m gonna buy him. I scream “wait” He turns to me with a confused, sad apologetic look in his eye as he speeds away leaving my heart, torn to pieces wondering if I will ever see him again.

POV Kyle:

"Mate" is the only word that fills the forest as my mate and I just stare at each other in confusion, lust, and need. My mate breaks the silence with the cracking of bones as she turns back into her wolf. Her snow-white wolf appears and instead of greeting me with the love or lust that newly mated wolves show, I am greeted with nothing but hostility. Her actions confuse me. Why is she treating me like I am her enemy, even though she knows we are mates? I broke out of my thoughts at my mate’s hostile growl. Jason and Michael growled at her, they gave me a look asking if I needed back up, I only growled at them at the thought of them hurting my mate. I don't need their help to contain my mate and even if it wasn't my mate, I can do it myself. I changed into my wolf form, and before I could even do anything, my mate pounced on me. She is a very aggressive fighter with her biting, scratching, and growling. It was very obvious she was trying to fight for dominance, which even though I loved her even though we just met, I would not hurt her of course, but I would make her submit to me. She continued to be aggressive, but I got her body between my teeth and slammed it into the floor. She whimpered in pain but it didn’t take too much time to recover as she rolled, to be on top of me. I can’t help but think in between all this fighting with my mate, that if we took all this action to the bedroom it would be a hell of a time. While she was on top of me she put her paws under my neck trying to knock me out again. It was clear wherever she was trained she was taught to finish off her target quickly in fights. I didn’t let her get the upper hand for long as I used my legs to kick her off me. She reacted quickly as she lunged at me as soon as she hit the ground and we went rolling down the hill, but her attempts at dominance failed as I got her pinned and whimpering underneath me. She hesitated but eventually showed me her neck in surrender. I got off her but I can’t help but feel pride for showing off my dominance to my mate. I change back into a human as Theo passes me back my clothes. I looked at my mate in the eye and said “ Get dressed” I wanted to see my beautiful mate again. It was only for a second but there was no doubt she was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She looked defeated and was about to comply but it looked as if she remembered something and took off running. I was in shock and it was too late to change back into my wolf form as she was already out of my sight, but still, it didn’t hurt to try so I sent some of the people that are with me after her. Theo and Austin stayed with me while some of the others left. I don’t know why she would react that way, but I know one thing I must find her.
