Milo’s POV   It’s not so bad in jail—at least, not in the county jailhouse. They split Jason and me up, but my cell mate isn’t bad. He’s a skinny, scrawny guy—even more so than me—and though he doesn’t say much, he doesn’t seem to mind me, either. My bail is set at $200,000, and the court date is confirmed as one month out. My family comes to see me after the arraignment—my parents and my big sister, Bec, who’s now nearly graduated from college. They’re kind, which makes me feel guilty. They tell me they’re glad I’m okay and they wish I hadn’t run. I tell them I wish I hadn’t, either, but that I think things had to happen the way they did for us to learn how to move forward.
