CHAPTER 1
Present
Location: Miami.
Weddings were so beautiful, every girl always looked forward to her wedding day. The beautiful white dress, the anticipation of walking down the aisle and the pleasure of the wedding night. Tami was no different she was so antsy, as she stayed awake. She could not drink anything, while her friends down alcohol, she sat laughing at their shenanigans until all of them were completely knocked out.
Tami chuckled as she looked at her five brides maids. Mary Carter was spread over the bed with Zoey right beside her. Leah one of Tami's cop friend was perched on the couch and others on the rug. Unlike her bridesmaids Tami was having a hard time sleeping. She had called her wedding planner in the middle of the night to ask if all was perfect. She had brushed her hair over nine times but still she had butterflies, not the scared kind but butterflies of anticipation. Her phone rang and she looked into the screen, it was Jeff, her fiancé.
Tami looked into the mirror and brushed her hair again. It was not like Jeff had not seen her in her worse times but she still wanted to look good for him. Finally she picked up the phone and swiped the green icon. Jeff's beautiful yet manly face popped up on the screen and Tami smiled joyfully as she ran to the balcony of her room in other to have some privacy. She didn’t want her bridesmaids listening in and making snarky comments even though they were supposed to asleep.
“Hey pudding” Tami said as she danced around her room in her baby pink robe. She was ecstatic and overjoyed, who would not be overjoyed on their wedding day. She looked into the screen phone at her handsome husband who looked a mess. The hangover was not obvious in only the drooping of his eyes but also way she rolled his head back lazily “Over did the bachelor party didn't you?”
“I did” He replied with a groan as he ran his free hand through his messy blonde and brown hair. His light brown eyes going darker as he closed and opened his lids. “It’s quite hard not too when you have nut cases like Carter, Steve and Klaus best friends.” He sighed “I wish Cod was here but at least we have hope.”
Tami smiled knowingly. Klaus was not giving up on Cod so neither would they.
“These men had me hanging out of me convertible screaming to Kendrick Lamar. Then we went to the strip club.” Tami narrowed her eyes at him, Jeff noticed “I swear I did nothing wrong.”
Tami rolled her eyes, she had her own fun, who was she to judge, If it wasn’t for composure she and her bridesmaids would have still been at a men’s strip club doing heaven knows what. “Where are the guys anyway?”
“Carter and Klaus are playing video games. They have a bet running.” He replied “Steve is somewhere with some girls. He hates the fact that all the bridesmaids are married” Jeff laughed. “This is going to be one epic wedding.”
Tami smiled back at him, the wedding could be as epic as it wanted. She just wanted to finally be married to the man who had stolen her heart at first sight.
“You changed your hair” He asked looking at the long black hair his wife was now spotting. That morning her hair had been a short bob with blond highlights but now her hair was all black, with extensions. A wicked smile crept unto his lips and he rose both brows up and down. It was a funny attempt at being both goofy and sexy at the same time. A combination only he could pull off. “Something to grab unto now”
“Nasty ass Pig” Tami replied blushing as she understood what he meant. God he was nasty and she loved it. Heck she loved him, everything about him down to the flaws and blemishes. This man she knew would be the end of her. "I love you"
“I love you more” He replied
Tami turned to see her friends were all still fast asleep. They had not even shook since last night "The girls can't handle liquor at all" She joked to Jeff. “Unlike me I handle it all"
“Yeah you ar...” Jeff paused and sat up. He could swear he saw someone or something move behind Tami. He figured it was one of the bridesmaids but the person was masked. He was quickly alerted "Tami who is behind you" Jeff asked as he spotted a dark silhouette directly behind Tami this time. Tami turned but it all happened so fast. The unidentified person behind her knocked her out with the butt of his gun and as she fell, he picked up her phone.
“Tami” Jeff shouted alerting Carter and Klaus who were in the other room playing video games.
“The devil monkey says hello, Inferos” The man said to Jeff then he dropped the phone to the floor and smashed it with his feet.
Both men rushed to Jeff who was already off his phone as he made him way out the room.
“Jeff what’s wrong?” Carter inquired as he and Klaus followed after Jeff.
Jeff remained silent walking through the house as fast as he could. Carter unsatisfied with his silence grabbed him by the arm and pulled him against the wall. Jeff would have fought back and most likely swept the floor with Carter but he found himself a weak and reckless mess.
“Get a grip man.” Carter shouted “What the f**k is going on?”
“T…Tami’s been kidnapped.”

Past: Four years ago
Location: Cuba
Tami Rashidi adjusted her microphone as her partner, Leah spoke to her. She was on her sixth field mission and this in her mind was one of the deadliest mission she had found herself undertaking. Who didn’t know the Inferos, they were the crooners of death itself and she was sent undercover to one suspected member, Jeffery Alle.
“Are you scared?” Leah asked
“I guess” Tami replied “Since I am in Cuba all alone and you are in New York chilling.”
“The boss assured me he will send you back up once agents are free.” Leah replied “It just an undercover mission. Hopefully there will be no need for back up.”
“Hopefully.” Tami replied
Taking a deep breath Tami adjusted her blue and aqua kimono which matched her aquamarine swimming trunk with a low neck and checked her make up as she kept her sights on her target. Seduction was one of the ways she captured her targets, torture was second nature.
Jeffery Alle a suspected member of a group of Assassin's or the top boss himself, her job was to go in and find out it if he was in truth a member of the 'Inferos killers'. , it translated in English as faceless assassins and they were the world’s best group of Assassins. Just like their name implied, they were faceless, practically unseen to the world. Their existence was known but the identities of members was a mystery. He was quite good looking and from her reports he loved women and was caught most especially with women of colour, latina, Mexican and even black women which is why she was the one for the job. He was quite a heart stopper with his brown hair, grey eyes and wonderful body, which was presently covered by a black t shirt.
“I am going in” Tamara stated as she gave herself a once over in the mirror. She walked to the small bar on the beach taking the free sit beside Jeff. “One s*x on the beach please” she ordered
Jeff was presently talking to a blonde, who was already in the palm of his hands. The blonde smiled making her way away from him. Apparently they had a later date agreement.
“Bad choice.” Tamara spoke up as she took a sip of her drink.
Jeff turned his attention to the petite black beauty who had just spoke up beside him. She had to be the smallest, yet sexiest pearl on the beach. However defiant and strong look beneath her seductive smile showed she was more than a petite figure.
“Are you talking to me?” Jeff asked giving her a once over.
“I don’t see anyone else here who just finished hitting on a girl who came for a vacation to get over heart break. Trust me if you are trying to get f****d tonight she is the wrong choice” Tamara replied throwing her hair back. She put a stick of cigarette between her lips and lit the butt with her lighter. Smoking was her guilty pleasure. It wasn’t a habit but it was more a way to relieve stress.
“Really” Jeff turned to face her fully giving her his attention "And how do you know that"
“The necklace around her neck is a locket. She kept fondling with it when you were hitting on her. I would say it’s just a thing she does when she is nervous but she seemed almost absent minded, I would say she might have been a dumb blonde but I have three extremely smart blonde friends.” She smiled “The locket has sentimental value and I suppose it's from a lover. Second her make up seemed smudged especially her mascara. I would blame the water but her hair seemed dry so I would say she was crying.”
Jeff smiled at her impressed. It was obvious she was very observant but also quite suspicious. However he liked the fact that she was more than she seemed. “Jeffery” He said holding his hand out to her for a handshake.
“Tam...” She paused for a moment “You can call me Tami”
Tami took his hand, holding on for a little too long. There were no complaints from him as she gave him a flirtatious smile. She used the opportunity to look take him in. He had brown her which looked soft enough to run hands through. His eyes were light brown, not grey like the report said. Under this Cuban sun they glittered. Tami let her eyes slip to his full pink lush lips then his toned and muscled body. He had a shirt on but he left the buttons open. Tami acknowledged that he was a beautiful man, unknowingly she pulled her bottom lip into her mouth biting it as she looked at him.
Jeff took notice of every move she made, the way she looked at his from his eyes to his lips and her reaction to everything and for some reason, he liked that she was flirting.
“Tami,” He said pulling her out of her thoughts. Tami looked up at him, not shy that he had caught her flirting. She wanted to be caught, this amused him. “And I was not hitting on her, she is already my girlfriend. The locket yes is sentimental, her mother was in an accident and she just got the call. The locket is her mother’s. I was promising her I would take her to the airport soon and yes she was crying because of the news of her mom's accident"
Tami's smiled pulling her hand out of his. She picked up her drink and hopped of the stool gracefully. Unperturbed that she had just been proved wrong “Mistakes are inevitable but at the end I am right you are not getting any f**k tonight.”
She turned and strutted away, looking back at him once with every seductive muscle she winked. Her intention was to indeed give him a good show, good enough to lure him in. Jeff's eyes followed her until she was out of his view. He smiled, he would make sure to find her again after he dropped his girl off at the airport.

Present Day:
The shelf in the study was Tami’s favourite place to keep pictures. She knew it pissed Jeff off when she turned the study to her picture warehouse but now Jeff would let her turn the whole house to a studio is she wanted, if only he could have her back.
Jeff cradled a bottle of Hennessy and sighed as he looked at the picture of Tami. Deep down, he blamed himself for her predicament. Of course it was his fault, who else could cause her this. She was a victim by association. He wanted to cry so badly but he could not, even if he could now was not the time, finding her was the prerogative and not sulking.
Carter came up behind Jeff and placed a hand on his shoulder. This was a futile attempt at calming him. Everyone knew Tamara was Jeff's existence.
“Her friends are okay, their drinks were drugged which is why they slept through the kidnap. I question everyone and no one saw anything suspicious even the hotel staff and unfortunately the camera footage was wiped.” Carter informed him. “I will have all my men on it” Carter was a police detective “But I need to know, do you know any reason why anyone would want to hurt Tami or kidnap her”
“No” Jeff lied “Well I am pretty rich so maybe for a ransom.”
Carter nodded accepting Jeff’s answer as good enough. He did not know about Jeff's other life and he loved it that way. Carter was one of the cops obsessing over the 'Inferos Assassins'. He had taken pride in telling Jeff’s off all his leads, therefore he did not need to know that his three best friends were top in the ranking of the Assassination syndicate.
“All will be good, we will get her back" Carter patted his back. I will call you when we get some leads”
Jeff nodded still clutching to the picture of him and Tami. Klaus and Steve were coming in as Carter made his way out. They all stopped at the door way to exchange a short greeting.
“Take care of him please. I know how much he loves Tami.” Carter said to Klaus "I will be on top of the case till we get Tams back.”
Klaus and Steve nodded, “Take it easy though”
With that Carter exited the room sparing one last glance at Jeff who refused to look anywhere but at Tami’s picture. Steve and Klaus both turned their heads to the door making sure Carter was gone before they went to Jeff. Jeff stood up from the chair and went to the shelf were the pictures were kept. He placed the picture of Tami back on the shelf. As he turned to face Steve and Klaus, the sulking husband look was gone and replaced with a look of anger, which spoke of vengeance and bloodshed.
“Where is the receptionist?” Jeff asked
“She is below.” Klaus replied
Jeff took the lead as he exited the library and made his way to the basement. Tami had no idea of this basement. He didn’t want her knowing about it or better yet ever seeing it, which is why he had got them a new house for their wedding present.
The receptionist was sitting in the wooden chair in the middle of the room with her eyes blind folded and her legs and hands bound. Jeff could smell her fear from a mile away.
“Please who is there?” She cried, “Where am I?”
Steve pulled the blindfold off her eyes and she met the cold eyes of death. Jeff stared at her like a starving Lion which had just met it prey.
“Who are you people?” She asked stuttering as she looked from Steve to Klaus and back to Jeff “Pl-Please don’t hurt me.”
Jeff tilted his head to the side as examined her before he spoke. “Yesterday a beautiful black woman was kidn*pped from the hotel you work in. This occurred during your shift am I right.”
“No” The lady replied the fear poured from her pores.
“Don’t lie to me.” Jeff said simply “I do not like hurting ladies but you see him.” Jeff gestured to Steve and the receptionist’s eyes followed “He doesn’t give a shit.”
Steve being his ever playful self, gave her a shark like grin and winked. The receptionist watched in pure horror as Steve pulled a gun out of his back and caressed the barrel on the side of her head.
“Please, I will tell you everything.” She cried
“We are listening.” Jeff replied
“A man came and gave me some money in exchange he asked me for her room, the camera’s room and that was all I told him.” She explained “Then he told me not to be at the desk by a certain time.”
Jeff took the gun from Steve and pointed it on her forehead. She began to tremble. “Please don’t kill me.” She cried “I know it was wrong but I really needed the money.”
“What did you need it for?” Jeff asked suddenly feeling compassion for her.
“My son is ill.” She replied tears running down her eyes.
Jeff brought the gun low. “You won’t die here today.” He said
“Thank y…”The words barely left her lips when before the sound of the gun went off. Her scream filled the room.
Jeff had shot her hand, the role she played could not go unpunished. He squat down so she could look into her eyes. “You stepped on the tail of viper, you are lucky to escape with just a scratch.”
Jeff looked up at Steve and Klaus. “Get her cleaned up and give her a slight brief.” By brief he meant money. Jeff used the gun tap her leg urging her to look at him. The receptionist did as she was expected. Jeff whispered but the lethality in his words were loud and clear. “If this gets out, you would not have to worry about your son living.””
They all exited the room till they were back up in the study. Jeff spared a glance at Steve who had a disapproving gaze.
“You have an opinion.” Jeff asked
“Just wondering when you went soft.” Steve replied “She could tell the police about us.”
“She has a son who is sick.” Jeff replied turning away from him “Have a f*****g heart.”
“You never had one.” Steve shouted. He regarded Jeff’s actions in the basement as sloppy. That was something they could not afford in this line of work. “You have grown a f*****g pus...”
The words didn’t leave Steve’s lips before Jeff let his fist kiss his face. Klaus was between them before it could escalate.
“Steve he is your Supreme.” Klaus interjected “His decision is law.”
“I am Beta, my decision should count for something.” Steve replied gaining his composure. He was calmer now “Look man all I am saying is that was sloppy. What if she…”
“In the face of my decision, yours counts for shit.” Jeff spoke up “If she spills then like I said, she and her son cease to exist. I will kill her myself.” He turned away from them “Enough about that.”
He walked to his desk and poured himself a cup of whiskey. He downed the drink in a single gulp. The born felt satisfying. He poured another helping into his cup and held it out for Steve. It was a way of burying the hatchet. Steve took the cup and threw the drink down his throat.
“Who the f**k is the monkey devil?” Steve asked as he put dropped the cup on Jeff’s table and smiled at Jeff. Jeff returned the smile briefly.
“I sent word to Ling, he is the best tech guy we got, he is looking that up” Klaus replied walking closer to the table “We got everyone else keeping an eye out for her. We will find her”
Jeff laughed, it was a bitter cry. He looked at Steve as he spoke. “You think I have gone soft huh, wait till I find the fucker who took Tami. I will mutilate the bastard
