CHAPTER 23 Carter lay in the hospital struggling for him life and Jeff blamed himself. Steve’s betrayal had not shook him as everyone expected. In fact he behaved like he had come to terms with it. He was used to occurrences like that in the life he led. He was also used to death but Carter did not deserve to die. Tami knew better, Jeff was beginning to feel, like a real human did. He had felt betrayal and hurt but he locked it away. Jeff's withdrawal went on for some time. He left early in the morning and returned very late at night.
