CHAPTER 18.
Past:
Jeff opened his eyes as he heard Tami shouting and writhing beside him.
"No Jeff" Tami screamed as she turned "Kill me don’t hurt him please"
Jeff sat up quickly and began to shake her awake. "Tami, wake up". He held unto her as her brown eyes flew wide open grabbing unto him. She held on to him and took deep breaths. Jeff patted her as she sobbed into his chest.
“You died, they shot you” Tami cried “And I could not do anything to stop it. I could not stop it.” She looked up at him “I do not want you gone, I don’t want you to die but I have this fear every day that either some vengeful person would kill you or the police...” she stopped pulling away from his hug. “I can't right now.”
“Tams” Jeff began but she cut him short
“Not now Jeff” She replied standing up and walking out of the room. She wanted to think this through by herself. She needed to understand what she was getting herself into. Jeff did not follow her.
Jeff opened his eyes it was six am in the morning. Tami walked out of the bathroom with wet hair and his shirt on.
“Good morning.” Jeff said, the events of last night were still fresh in his mind.
“Morning.” Tami replied dismissively
Jeff ran his hands through his hair “Are you really going to do this.”
She remained quiet as she exited the room. Jeff got off his bed and followed her “C'mon Tami, I just proposed two days ago are we really having this now” She continued walking till she entered into the kitchen and opened the fridge. She pulled out a jug of juice as she ignored him.
“Tami!” He grabbed her arm, turned her around and trapped her between his shirtless body and the fridge cold “I am not going to allow myself to die any time soon.”
“I am sure that's what Pedrov told his kids.” Tami replied looking away from his gaze.
Jeff sighed and licked his lips. Her fear once in a while was expected after all she was dating an assassin. Jeff expected these sparks more often than not.
“Pedrov got messy. We are called the Inferos Assassins for a reason.” He kissed her forehead “I will not die at least not until, I am ninety and you are ninety two and I have four kids with you, who are doctors, nurses, lawyers, musicians, chefs” he smiled knowing what he was about to add to the profession list would piss her off
“Or assassins”
Tami looked at him and slapped his chest. “Don't even joke like that.”
“I'm sorry” He laughed as she pushed him away and tried to leave but he pulled her back to the former position between him and the fridge. He cupped her face and kissed her cheek then her neck as his thighs parted her legs.
“What are you...?” Whatever she had to say died in his lips as they touched hers. She felt his hands pull up her shirt and caress her bare bum. He left her lips and looked into her eyes as his hands invaded her walls. She took in deep breaths and shut her eyes as pleasure took over her.
“Open your eyes” he said softly but it was an order. A sexy order, she opened her eyes looking into his light brown orbs as his fingers played with her fold. She couldn’t help it as she let the jug of juice fall to the ground and it broke.
“Jeff” she grabbed unto his sweat pants and rested her head on the hand that was resting on the fridge. Tami bit into his hand softly as she tried to muffle her moans as his finger pumped into her, drawing circles on her c**t “Oh Lord Yes.” She put her head back on the fridge as she hit her o****m.
Jeff bit his lips as she looked up at him with lust filled eyes. Jeff knew from the moment he looked into those eyes at Cuba that she was not an ordinary girl. He was indeed very right. This woman in his arms was not ordinary. She was the most beautiful woman on earth, strongest and bravest woman alive and presently his everything.
“I love you” He kissed her as she spoke. “Now clean that mess up” She pushed him away and walked out of the kitchen.
Jeff looked at the broken jug and spilled juice and sighed as he went to picking them up laughing.
☆☆☆
Present
Tami was getting tired being in this hospital. She wanted to go home, in fact she wanted to go back to her normal life but then it hit her, her normal life involved Jeff and now that she had kicked him out of her life. She felt terrible but it just had to be done.
“Knock, knock” Tami turned to the door as the voice came. She smiled as her mood changed for the better. How could it not change, she was staring at her mother, father and Zoey.
“Mum, Dad, Zoey” She smiled
“Oh honey you look terrible” Her mother spoke as she came to her.
“I know” Tami replied with a laugh. “How did you guys get to Miami?” She inquired. They all kept quiet and smiled “Dad cause I know you and Zoey blew all your cash on the tropical trip and mum you are a shopping freak so...”
Tami did not need them to reply before she knew Jeff had paid for their flights to Miami. She smiled and hugged her mother.
“Oh sweetie Jeff told us about how a business adversary who was angry at him kidn*pped you for revenge” Zoey said “The poor boy was devastated throughout everything.”
“Locked himself away from the world” Tami's father added. “We were scared he would spiral into depression, but thank God you are back.”
“That boy really loves you. It’s quite creepy but cute the way he talks about you” Her mother added. The woman was always one to say her mind, no filter added.
Tami smiled “Yeah!”
Jeff just had to be the one to make her smile at this point and time in her life. She sighed as all the jokes her family made and things they spoke of faded to the background as her mind remained on Jeff. Even at this moment he was still a tool to bring her joy.
