A TWIST OF FATE.
She called my name twice but I did not realize it until she knocked the edge of her plate with her cutlery.
I said sorry but looked lost. She glared at me, asking if I was pretending not to hear what she said or was just not listening.
Now that my Dad is no more, she's trying to marry me off all in the name of 'the company is running down.'
TK services is a cleaning company which signs contracts with other big companies to clean there places of work. I don't really know what is so hard about this that she thinks I need a man,a husband for that matter to run it successfully.
I thought it was weird because I don't see how my singleness is affecting the running of the family business in anyway. I was surprised but remained calm.
"So who are we talking about here?" I asked.
"The son of your dad's friend."she said casually.
"Huh?" I suddenly dropped the fork. My heart stopped beating and my eyes opened wide.
Meanwhile, hell broke loose in the house of my anonymous husband to be.
"You can't make me do this dad. How on earth do you expect me to marry someone I know nothing about?"
His dad looked impatient with his eyes going red. His mother shifted close to her husband in the couch trying to calm him down.
"My husband, you know this is new to him and he needs time to fully understand what has been laid out to him."
"I am the man of the house and whatever I say is final. You people need to respect that." He hit his fist on the arm of the couch.
"But please don't forget his old enough to make decisions for himself."
"Are you trying to support your son to disobey his father?"he turned to face his wife.
"No I'm not. I am just saying..."
"... saying what?"he interrupted.
"How can I make my statement clear if you don't allow me finish my sentence."
