After seven years of marriage, I’m seen by everyone as the blissfully happy Mrs.Watkins.

But in his heart, there is always a out-of-reach first love.

And I knew before I got married that this Out-of-reach first love was my best friend, but I got married willingly.

I thought I could melt his cold heart.

Until one day, lying on a cold hospital bed, comforting my own abdomen that still ached faintly from the recent abortion, I proposed divorce to him.

chapter 1
In the evening, my friend Sophia sent me a voice message. 'Thank you godmother for sending me Princess Elsa, I love it so much.' It was Sophia's daughter Olivia, her voice was soft and lovely. 'Glad you like it, sweetheart.' Then I got a call. ‘Jessica, why have you been working overtime? Did you fight with Aaron? He just left. He'll be home soon.’ ‘We're fine, don't worry.’ 'You shouldn't be too tired. Your husband loves kids. When are you going to have one? ’ Hearing this, I clenched my hand holding the phone. 'We haven't seen enough of the world.' 'You two are sweet, but think about what I said. But now I have to put Olivia to bed.' 'Bye.' Draining strength from my body, I muttered, 'I had a child with him before, but he did not want it.' It was 11 p.m. I thought he'll be home soon, so I put his clothes in the bathroom. I left the light on in the living room and a cup of hot water on the table. I heard the sound of the door opening. The sound of running water echoed softly from the bathroom. Just as I was drifting into sleep, I felt the mattress dip beside me. A warm presence settled close, pressing gently against the nape of my neck. Half-asleep, I turned over, only to feel his lips find mine with perfect precision, melting away the last traces of my drowsiness. 'Why are you in bed so early?' 'Hmm?' He exhaled hot breath in my ear. 'Just a little tired,' I pushed him. After all the fun, it was late at night and I lost sleep again. I got up, put on a shirt, went to the living room, poured a glass of water, looked in the drawer for a tablet, and sat alone on the sofa, staring at the wedding photos on the wall. What am I supposed to do to make things right for both of us? Aaron and I met seven years ago because of Sophia. I thought he had a good career, family, looks and temper. He seemed like a perfect marriage partner. He wanted Sophia, but she just saw him as her brother. He did lots for her but still failed to impress her. Back then, I even told Sophia that he seemed like a great match for marriage and might be worth a try. She was convinced, and they decided to give him a chance. It was a rare snowy winter in the south. Aaron was jealous of Sophia for chatting with her male friends, which led to a quarrel. He gave in and waited downstairs with me as a peacemaker. Sophia went downstairs. I watched as he took off his coat and gave it to her, coaxing her and stroking her head. I watched him kiss her. Many people in their circle know they're together. This sensational love didn't last long and ended badly. After meeting the parents, both were happy. Aaron wanted to get married, but Sophia didn't. She didn't want to be tied down by her family. I've seen them argue and make up. Sophia finally chose to break up. She met someone who made her want to put aside her temper. I never saw him again. A year later, I was at Sophia's wedding. Aaron was her husband's business partner. Later, we met again because of business. As the head of branch operations, I saw him more and went to more events with him. I knew he had a weak stomach and would remind him to drink less when he was socializing. A month later, at a social gathering, I’d had too much to drink and ended up crouching by the roadside. He happened to walk out of the karaoke bar, noticing me shivering in the cold, cheeks flushed. Without a word, he took me away. That night, under the haze of alcohol, everything went crazy. Yes, I slept with him. The next day, I woke up with a hangover. I looked around and felt sore. I thought about the night before. I saw a familiar face. I lifted the covers and got out of bed. Just as I was getting up, someone grabbed my waist. 'Where are you going? Hmmm? You want to be irresponsible after spending the night together?’ He spoke in a hoarse voice, hooked his hand backwards and pulled me onto the bed. He propped himself up with both hands and asked. I don't know when I started liking him. I did all the time. He smiled at me. 'Marry me? You'll take care of me?'
