Chapter 26: A New Opportunity

434 Words
A few days after their conversation by the lake, things slowly returned to normal between Amara and Daniel. They began studying together again in the library and meeting occasionally at the café. The tension that had once been between them started to fade, and their conversations felt warm and natural again. One afternoon, Daniel rushed across the campus courtyard, holding a letter in his hand. His expression showed both excitement and disbelief. He spotted Amara sitting under a tree reading one of her literature books. “Amara!” he called. She looked up and smiled when she saw him. “Hi, Daniel. Why do you look so excited?” Daniel sat down beside her, still holding the letter. “I just received this,” he said. Amara looked curious. “What is it?” Daniel handed the letter to her. She carefully read the heading. It was from a famous architecture institute in another city. Her eyes widened slightly as she continued reading. “This says you’ve been selected for a special architecture training program,” she said. Daniel nodded excitedly. “It’s one of the best programs for young designers. Only a few students are chosen every year.” Amara looked up at him. “That’s amazing, Daniel!” Daniel smiled proudly. “I know. I worked really hard for this opportunity.” Amara returned the letter to him. “When does it start?” she asked. Daniel hesitated for a moment before answering. “In three months.” Amara felt a small pause in her heart. “And where is it?” she asked quietly. Daniel rubbed the back of his neck. “It’s in another city… quite far from here.” The words hung in the air between them. Amara forced a small smile. “That’s still great news.” Daniel watched her carefully. “You’re not upset, are you?” Amara shook her head quickly. “No. Why would I be?” But deep inside, she couldn’t ignore the feeling growing in her chest. Emily’s warning suddenly echoed in her mind again. “When Daniel has to choose between his dreams and you…” Daniel looked hopeful. “This could change my future,” he said. Amara nodded. “I know.” And she truly meant it. But as she watched the excitement in Daniel’s eyes, she couldn’t help wondering what this opportunity might mean for their relationship. Because sometimes, the path to someone’s dreams could lead them farther away from the people they cared about. And Amara didn’t know yet if she was ready to face that possibility. 💔📖
