Five days before her wedding, Cassandra’s perfect life shatters when she walks in on her fiancé in bed with another man. Heartbroken and humiliated, she drowns her pain in alcohol and ends up in a luxury hotel for the night.

But a mistake at the front desk sends her to the wrong room.

Jordan Alvarez—New York’s ruthless billionaire CEO—has no patience for games. When a drunken and breathtakingly beautiful woman suddenly walks into his private suite, he assumes she was sent by his father to seduce him into marriage.

What starts as a misunderstanding turns into a night of raw passion neither of them expected.

By morning, Cassandra disappears, convinced it was a mistake she should forget.

But fate has other plans.

When their paths cross again, the powerful billionaire becomes obsessed with the mysterious woman who dared to walk away from him. And this time, Jordan has no intention of letting her escape his bed—or his life.

But secrets, betrayal, and dangerous enemies threaten to destroy everything between them.

Because the night that trapped Cassandra in the billionaire’s bed… may also trap her heart forever.

Chapter 1 – The Betrayal
Cassandra pushed the bedroom door open slowly. At first, her mind refused to process what her eyes were seeing. Her fiancé, Cameron, was on their bed. But he wasn’t alone. Another man was beneath him, their naked bodies tangled together as Cameron moved against him with desperate intensity. The sheets were twisted around them, and the room was filled with the unmistakable sounds of pleasure. A low moan escaped Cameron’s mouth. The sound echoed through Cassandra’s ears like a gunshot. For a moment she simply stood there, frozen in the doorway. Her fingers slowly loosened around the strap of her handbag until it slipped from her shoulder and dropped to the floor with a dull thud. Neither of the men noticed. Cassandra’s heart began to pound violently against her chest as she stared at the scene before her. The man she was supposed to marry in five days was in bed with someone else. Not another woman. A man. The sound of the bag hitting the floor finally caught Cameron’s attention. He lifted his head. Their eyes met. The color drained from his face instantly. “Cassie—” He quickly pulled away from the man beneath him, grabbing the sheet to cover his waist as he stumbled off the bed. But the other man didn’t look shocked. He leaned back comfortably against the pillows, completely naked, watching the scene unfold with an expression that was closer to annoyance than guilt. Cassandra finally found her voice. “What… is this?” Her voice came out barely above a whisper. Her throat felt dry, tight, as if someone was squeezing it. Cameron ran a hand through his messy hair, avoiding her eyes. “It’s not what it looks like,” he said quickly. Cassandra blinked. For a moment she wondered if she had heard him correctly. Not what it looks like? Her eyes slowly moved back to the man sitting comfortably on the bed. He didn’t even try to cover himself properly. Instead, he simply stared at her as if she were the one intruding. There was no guilt in his eyes. No embarrassment. No shame. Just irritation. Cassandra felt something inside her chest twist painfully. “You’re… cheating on me,” she said slowly. Cameron sighed as if the situation were simply inconvenient for him. “It’s complicated.” The words hit her harder than anything else. Complicated. Cassandra let out a shaky laugh that sounded almost hysterical. “Complicated?” she repeated. Her voice slowly grew louder. “You’re in bed with another man and you’re telling me it’s complicated?” Her eyes snapped back to the stranger. “And you,” she said angrily, stepping further into the room. “You know he’s engaged, right? You know we’re getting married in five days!” The man shrugged lazily. “That’s his problem,” he replied without emotion. The casual response made Cassandra’s anger flare instantly. “You have no shame at all?” He smirked slightly. “I didn’t force him.” Cassandra’s hands clenched into fists at her sides. She turned back toward Cameron, hoping—just hoping—that he would finally say something that made sense. Something that showed regret. But Cameron looked more frustrated than guilty. “You shouldn’t have come in here like that,” he muttered. The words felt like another blow. “You’re blaming me?” Cassandra asked, her voice shaking with disbelief. “I’m not blaming you,” Cameron replied quickly, though his tone said otherwise. “I just mean you shouldn’t jump to conclusions.” “Jump to conclusions?” she repeated. Her voice rose sharply. “I just walked in on my fiancé having s*x with another man!” The stranger behind Cameron chuckled quietly. The sound made Cassandra’s blood boil. Her gaze snapped toward him again. “You think this is funny?” she demanded. The man leaned back against the headboard, completely relaxed. “Look,” he said lazily, “whatever drama you two have, keep me out of it.” Cassandra stared at him in disbelief. “You’re sleeping with someone else’s fiancé and you want to stay out of the drama?” Cameron suddenly stepped forward, placing himself between them. “That’s enough, Cassie,” he said firmly. His reaction stunned her. Instead of apologizing… Instead of begging for forgiveness… He was protecting him. “You’re defending him?” she asked quietly. Cameron rubbed his temples as if he were the one suffering. “You’re making this bigger than it needs to be.” Her eyes widened slowly. “Bigger than it needs to be,” she repeated. For a moment she wondered if this was some kind of sick joke. But Cameron’s face remained serious. Cassandra felt tears burning behind her eyes. “Cameron,” she said softly, her voice breaking slightly, “we’re getting married in five days.” He didn’t respond. “We’ve been together for four years,” she continued. “Four years. And you’re telling me this isn’t a big deal?” Cameron avoided her gaze. “Things aren’t that simple.” The words made her chest ache. Suddenly everything began to make sense. All the moments she had ignored. All the excuses she had accepted. Their intimate moments had always been brief. Awkward. Disconnected. Cameron had never looked at her the way he looked at the man on that bed. He had never touched her with that kind of hunger. And she had convinced herself it was normal. Because she loved him. Because she believed love meant patience. But now she realized the truth. He had never truly wanted her. The realization cut deeper than the betrayal itself. Cassandra wiped angrily at the tears forming in her eyes. “You’ve been lying to me this whole time,” she said. “No,” Cameron replied quickly. “It’s not like that.” “Then what is it like?” she demanded. Before he could answer, the man on the bed spoke again. “Can you two take this outside?” he said impatiently. “Some of us were busy.” Cassandra turned toward him slowly. The nerve. She took a step toward the bed, anger burning in her chest. “You think this is a joke?” Before she could say anything else, Cameron grabbed her arm. “Stop it,” he said sharply. “Let go of me,” she snapped, trying to pull her arm free. “Cassie—” “No!” she shouted. “You don’t get to tell me to calm down after what I just saw!” She tried to move past him again. Suddenly— SMACK. The sound echoed loudly in the room. Cassandra’s head snapped to the side as Cameron’s hand struck her across the face. Everything went silent. The burning sting spread slowly across her cheek. For a few seconds Cassandra couldn’t move. Couldn’t speak. She slowly lifted her hand to touch her face, her fingers trembling slightly. Then she looked at him. The man she loved. The man she had planned to marry. And instead of regret… Cameron looked angry. “Stop causing a scene,” he said coldly. Behind him, the other man laughed softly. The sound broke something inside Cassandra. Tears finally spilled down her cheeks as the reality of the situation settled heavily on her chest. Not only had he betrayed her. Not only had he lied to her. He had hit her. And he didn’t even look sorry. Cassandra let out a shaky breath. Then she did the only thing she could think of. She slipped the engagement ring off her finger. The diamond caught the light briefly as she held it between her fingers. Cameron noticed. “Cassie, don’t be dramatic,” he muttered. She laughed bitterly. “Dramatic?” she whispered. Slowly, she placed the ring on the dresser beside the door. Then she looked at him one last time. Four years. Four years of love, trust, and plans for the future. All gone in a single moment. “I hope he was worth it,” she said quietly. Cameron didn’t reply. He didn’t try to stop her. He didn’t apologize. He simply stood there. Protecting the other man. Cassandra wiped the tears from her face and turned toward the door. Each step she took away from that room felt heavier than the last. But she didn’t look back. Because the man she loved no longer existed. And the stranger standing in that room… Was not someone she ever wanted to see again.
