The drive to Chez Laurent gave me enough time to think, but my thoughts kept circling back to the same uncomfortable questions.
What had I promised Sophia exactly ?What kind of relationship had we maintained during my marriage to Celeste? Had I been cheating on Celeste? Did she know? Maybe she did, since she kept trying to put a wall between us whenever I got too touchy feely with her and already reminded me of our stance. Was she trying to protect herself when I finally recovered my memory so I wouldn't have her to blame for taking advantage of me in a vulnerable state?
And the most troubling question ever was if I was indeed planning to leave Celeste for Sophia, why on earth couldn't I go through with it anymore.
