My Comfort Zone

The classes ended and I immediately headed out.
"Wait Ramon, why are you in a rush?" The twins asked
"I am going to the mall to buy groceries why?" I said like I am in a hurry
"Let's go then" they said then they wrapped around my arms
As we exited the building we immediately went to the parking lot
"So where's your ride" they asked
"That" I pointed out my bike
"You gotta be kidding. How do we ride on that?" They said
"You you're coming with me to the mall" I asked
"Of course" they said as they dragged me to their car but it didn't give and and grabbed my bike
"I can't leave my bike her" I said then we continued walking to their car
I placed my bike at a rack and we went on our way
"Is it just me or these two are getting too clingy" a thought in my mind as I watch them cuddle my arm
We arrived at the mall and we headed straight to the groceries. We roamed around and bought necessary and unnecessary things. I had fun actually. While waiting in the counter I saw Skylia
"Hold the line for me" I said as I ran away
The twins seemed clueless
I checked everywhere but I didn't see her, maybe I am just seeing things. I have her call them and hear a phone ringing. I got this feeling she is here. I gave her another call and I followed the sound. I repeated it until I finally saw her. She seems pretty exhausted. Is she running from me?
"Hi Skylia" I greeted her
"I got to go" she said then walks away
I grabbed hold of her hands
"Why are you in such a rush? Can't we talk for awhile" I said
Then Vermilion showed up
"What are you doing here" he asked as he gives me this nasty look
"Buying groceries duh!" I said
He then pulls Skylia and they go on their way. I then head back to the counter
"We just saw Skylia passed by" the twins informed
I was so upset I didn't bother listening to them. I lift our groceries and we went on our way
"You're awfully quiet"
"Yeah it's not like you at all" the twins seems worried
"Is it because Skylia is with Vermilion?"
"Those two have been inseparable since high school. You see they are rivals at the same time close friends. They started dominating the rankings together" the twins said
"Go on" I said with a pale voice
"Do you want to know more about them?" Cherry Lyn asked
I gave a nod
"Give me back my purse first" she said like she don't trust me at all
I use my lips to point out the purse. She then grabs it and start counting her money
"Well Ramon about Skylia and Vermilion. They do fight a lot but I think it only motivates them to excel and out shine one another. They become pretty well known because of that. They are the only ones which battle for the top spot"
"Their clans are also pretty well established themselves. They are also known for the fierce battle both in curricular and co curricular"
"I know Skylia is beautiful, charming, intelligent and so much more. She is practically perfect"
"Well she is a goddess though"
"But Ramon don't you think your out of her league"
"I am not degrading you or something but my sister is right. Don't you think you're crossing the boundary too far?"
"With their rating do you think her family will accept the likes of you"
"Of course they want the best for Skylia" the twins said
I then remembered Celestina's message. "She only wants the best for her daughter"
"You're right I am not yet worthy" I said
We headed back to the boarding house and we went our separate ways. I started to over think and I am once again consumed by my negative thoughts. I stashed my groceries and prepared instant noodles for dinner
I head to my comfort zone and lie down on my hammock. I looked at the sky and it was pitch black, not a single star in the sky.
"Emre what shall I do now? It all makes sense now. I am not worthy of Skylia's love. She is better off with that Vermilion guy" I prayed
I grabbed my phone and opened my Instaglam account. Looks like I have a new message. I opened my inbox and it was just a group chat of our class. I tried checking it out. Looks like they are discussing their plans for tomorrow's class.
"How about we start impressing our adviser first" I suggested
Then a series of questions are raised pertaining to that matter. Then something good happened. My classmates start answering the questions and they give a more detailed plan. Looks like they are deserving to pass the exam after all. Talk about decision making skill
After a while I received a new message and it's from Skylia's dummy account.
"What are you doing right now?" She sent
"Nothing much just enjoying the view that's all" I sent a picture
"Look at your left side" she sent
I stood up and looked, there I saw her looking at me. She then waved at me so I waved back
"What are you doing this late at night?" I sent
"I can't sleep so I stayed here maybe it will help me doze off" she sent
"Ah Skylia it's okay if I went to your room right now? I have something important to tell you" I sent
Then she immediately enters back. She seems terrified
"Hide!" She sent
I don't know why but I immediately crouched down upon reading it. Reflexes maybe. Then someone went out of her terrace and started looking around.
I checked my inbox and it looks like she is already off-line. I went to my bedroom and lay down on my bed. I just looked at the ceiling and started thinking about her
Why did she run off like that and who is that person earlier? She seems terrified seeing it. I wonder why? I'll just ask her tomorrow
I pull my blanket up and tuck myself into bed.
"Big brother wakes up," my alarm clock wails. I immediately stopped it and stood up
I made my morning routine and went to the kitchen then prepared lunch for me and the twins. I searched for two more lunch boxes but I only saw one big one. I used it instead, I think they won't mind sharing the food with me
I took a bath and I went on my way. I exited my room then Vermilion exited Skylia's room. I walked past him and Skylia exited her room as well. We all shared the same elevator. Awkward silence filled the four corners of the elevator.
We walked outside and looked like they were sharing the same ride as well. I grabbed my bike and tried tailing them
We finally arrived and Vermilion's gang are waiting for them. I immediately went on my way then the twins popped out and they wrapped around my arms
"Good morning I hope you prepared us our lunch" they greeted
"Yeah it's in my bag" I said
We started walking
"Hey Ramon isn't that Skylia and Vermilion?"
"Yeah they look good together" the twins teased
I swing my arms making them bumped into each other
"Ouch! What did you do that for"
"Looks like someone is jealous"
"We told you, you can love us instead we are as beautiful as Skylia is" the twins said
I gave them a "I don't believe a word your saying" reaction
"Your mean" they said as started pounding me
"Cut it out okay" I raised my voice
We finally entered our room and it looked like everyone was busy. We went to our respective seats. After a while Ms. De Villa entered our room. We all stand up. She greeted us and we greet her back then we all sat down
"You all look motivated, what's the catch?" Ms. De Villa asked
The class answers back
"I came here for a very important announcement. Is there anyone here that wants to run for student council please approach me at my office for the details" she said them heads out
The class started discussing about it but no one wants to apply for candidacy
"I heard form the previous administration that they are given grade incentives depending on their contribution"
"Who cares about the incentive you can't win against popular students. They will surely win by landslide"
"I suppose so"
"But think about the ranking. A student from the lowest section winning the election. Surely that will be a legacy"
"But who do you think is foolish enough to file a candidacy?" Words coming from the class
Then they all looked at me. It seems they are planning something against me
"No! I won't run for that crummy title" I said
They started begging and later on they talked me into applying for a candidacy. I hope I won't regret this.
"If this is your plan Emre let it be done" I prayed
