Eye Opener

After Elena gives her demands, Vermillion stands up then approaches me. With a fierce look in his face he grabs my collar and look me straight in the eye and said
“What are you up to?” He clenches my collar tight which makes it difficult for me to breath. The atmosphere becomes intense and my heart starts to race. I can feel my body is burning up.
I gently close my eyes and take a deep breath then said
“It’s none of your business” then I open my eyes and the scene shakes me down the core.
I saw this fierce demon holding my collar. His back was burning and his wrists had these shackles on them. I don’t know why I feel like my eyes are toying with me. I closed them shut then shook my head, maybe it was all an illusion but when I opened them back again nothing changed.
With a horrified look in my face, I push the demon away then quickly run outside. I can hear Elena shouting across the room as I exit. I pushed the elevator buttons simultaneously thinking it would open faster but as soon as the elevator door opened I saw monsters were inside so I took the stairs instead. It was a long way down but I managed to pull it through. I step out of the staircase but there are more monsters roaming around outside. I am starting to lose my mind, I sit down on the stairs then inflict self harm. I pinch myself until it bleeds. I even punch my face just to make sure I am awake.
I went to check the lobby but the monsters are still there. I start laughing like a lunatic in distress. Like my brains jump out of my head. Then I start hearing something. A female voice and it sounds majestic. I don’t know why but that voice manages to bring back my senses like all my worries escape my system. I follow where the voice came but it seems it only echoes down to me. Halfway back to the top floor the song stops.
Then a strong surge of wind blew behind me and grabbed my waist lifting me back to the top floor inside Elena’s office. A huge bird then walks towards Elena’s seat then it shapeshifts into a woman. The huge bird was actually Elena
“WTF” I said as my eyes widens
“Why did you start running? You know the meeting isn’t over yet” Elena said as she sits down
“So everything I see now is a living nightmare”
“f**k those twins for casting that illusion again” I ranted on my mind
I tried playing it cool but seeing that demon still creeps me out but this fish girl beside me is not half bad. She has this nice figure after all and a huge personality if you know what I mean.
Elena discusses the follow of the upcoming program and how the voting will commence. Everything was fine until the fish lady oppose
“Are you seriously making it online? You know that Technos can manipulate the results right?”
“Tell me how will the board resolve this issue? It’s not fair especially when you are up against a demon” She said then she averts her gaze at the demon
“No need to feel threatened. You won’t even come close to our votes” the demon mock
“Oh yeah! Prove it”
“Don’t think that your lineage will scare me”
“Know your place Vermillion” the fish lady said
“WTF that’s Vermillion no wonder the other students are afraid of him. He looks like a fictional character that pops out under children's closets” I reacted
“Say all you want Teodosia. Haven’t you brought enough shame to your lineage?” Vermillion mocked. He crosses her legs and lays his back on the chair
“You’re one to talk” Teodosia murmured
In a blink of an eye Vermillion teleports behind Teodosia then whispers
“But Von Dire hasn't lost a single event unlike Utopia. Talk about creatures of the sea but still lose in a swimming event how pathetic!”
“And here you are now acting tall and mighty” Vermillion said then he licks Teodosia’s cheek
Elena gave Vermillion a glare so he went back to his seat
Teodosia was shaking and had this unquestionable look on her face. I was about to talk to her but Vermillion spoke to me
“Let her be. She isn’t fit to run anyways”
“She only has a referral of the former president that’s why”
“Now Ms. Patterson about the event, why make it online?”
“Can’t we stick to the traditional way of voting like the previous years did? What’s the board up to?” Vermillion asked
“Don’t act dumb. Your lineage covers 75% of the board, surely you have a glimpse of what’s happening”
“You tell us instead” Elena said
“I wish I could be I know nothing”
“To be frank I don’t want to get involved with their nasty schemes. In fact, I gave Ramon a heads up about the upcoming debate”
“I want to play it fair” Vermillion said
“But don’t forget about our little agreement”
“If I win you and you’re entire clan will get the hell outta here” I teased
“Sure, but if I win you’ll do my bidding for the rest of your pitiful life” Vermillion said
“So this is all fun and games for you?” Teodosia said, she seems pissed
“Shut up b***h! We are not talking to you” Vermillion mocked
“If you’re really playing fair. How about a little wager”
“If I win you’ll be my slave” Teodosia straightforwardly said
“Sorry but not worth it”
“You’ll lose anyway” Vermillion said then he laughs at her
I just let them be because I don’t want to get involve in their little quarrel
“I thought Von Dire won’t lose? So why are you backing down?” Teodosia taunts
“Sorry but I don’t think that you can give something of equal value. Your life is worthless compare to mine”
“For me you are just garbage dumped into the sea. I can’t even imagine that you’re the daughter of the God of the Sea”
“You’re a disgrace” Vermillion mocked
“Aren’t you going to far Vermillion?”
“Don’t you think she had enough?” I ask
Vermillion then become silent for a minute then said
“Hey Ramon, let’s scram. I’ll discuss the remaining topics on our way out” He then stands up and drags me outside. I just let him coz I don’t want trouble
I look at Elena and move my lips saying “I’m sorry” followed by a smile
“So where are we going?” I ask
“At my clan’s quarters” Vermillion said as he lets me go
“Look I’m sorry if I broke your limiter”
“It is really unbecoming of me” Vermillion apologizes
“Huh? What are you talking about?” I cluelessly ask
“You know your limiter? The one that limits your power?” Vermillion explained
I still don’t get what he is trying to convey. All I know is that my vision changed.
We soon arrived at the Von Dire’s quarters and I saw more demons but they look less fiendish compared to Vermillion. Most of them also have these chains locked on their wrist. Vermillion then approached an old demon. Their conversation looks serious. The old demon looks at me from time to time until Vermillion drags me to him
“So your limiter has been broken?”
“Tell me what changes have already manifested? Especially in your visuals you are an Oculus after all” the demon said
“Well to be honest I started seeing monsters all of a sudden. Like I am now leaving on my own nightmare but worry maybe the Agramon twins are just messing with me” I said
“Sad to say the fear feaster have nothing to do with it”
“What you are seeing is what this realm really is. Your limiter is actually the one that mitigates what you are seeing transforming it into something that pleases your eyes” the demon said
“So you’re saying that this school is literally filled with monsters? And what I am seeing is their true form? Wow”
“Looks like this is what Elder was talking about opening my eyes to reality” I said
I felt disturb and light at the same time. Like something is removed from me.
“Hey kid word on the streets that you ace the entrance exam, going head to head with Vermillion, and you’re against this institutions system”
“What are you planning kid? Didn’t you know that the boards ideologies aren’t to be recon with”
“Just so you know status means everything here and clans will do whatever it takes just to remain on top. But what you are doing is a taboo here. Don’t wait for the board to take action or else you’ll regret it” the demon warned me
“I just want a wholesome college life that’s all. Maybe find a great opportunity here so I can finally help my village”
“I don’t really intend to change anything. What I want is freedom and equal footing because we all inhabit this world. Why not co exist with one another?”
“If you excuse me I’ll be on my way” I said then I went on my way
