"My people wish for my head on a stake."He smirked as his hands skimmed through the grey feathers of my bloodied wings. "Angels never really cared for halfbreeds. Too....temperamental per say. I'm am curious as to why you would come into my kingdom as ask for an audience with me though."

I inhaled sharply when his hand left my wings and traced my collarbone, "I came seeking your protection, Your Highness." His dark eyes sparkled with curiosity, "Why on Earth would I provide you with that?" "Because there's a rumor going around that your advisors threaten your throne if you don't find yourself a bride." He hummed contemplative, "I need a better reason than that, Love. Because even the white winged vermin above know that my advisors are extremely easy to get rid of."

I sighed at pulled out my final card. "Because I know you've heard of the prophecy."

Prologue
I cringed as pain blossomed in my back. The shackles chaining me to our families Asacia rattled only adding to my discomfort. "Only a few more hours, Len. Just a few more," my older brother comforted. Loren immediately went silent when I turned my murderous glare on him. I inhaled deeply and focused on the bright coloured flower infront of me.. In our training we were taught about what would happen during our Awakening. If we didn't focus on something other than the pain we would die. 80% of angels died during the process and the chance of you dying only went up with every generation of angel pureblooded member born in your family. Ever since Loren survived his I was sure I would die. No family could get lucky twice. And most parents usually spent the day after their child's Awakening picking out a casket. I was supposed to make this obnoxiously pink flower grow. Or multiply. Whatever I did was supposed to make it prosper. Trying to ignore the white, hot pain shooting through my spine I focused on expanding the horribly coloured petals and stretching the stem. I gritted my teeth and chanted the growth spell I was taught as a child. With each line I recited the pain intensified to the point I got so tired I couldn't even hold my head up. "This is alot of blood, Seamus," I heard my mother whisper. "Lenora will be fine. She'll be fine," I heard my father sooth. I felt something c***k and then twist before it started tearing through skin. Before I could blink, heavy blood coated wings fell next to my feet. Then the darkness engulfed me.
