Clara didn’t wait for the elevator before she ran. Her heels slapped against the polished hallway floor as she chased after Selene, who had walked out of Kade’s office looking like a storm compressed into human form.
“Selene! Selene, wait—please!” she shouted, trying to get Selene's attention.
Selene stopped only because the elevator doors hadn’t opened yet. She exhaled sharply, shoulders tight. “What?” she turned and snapped with a heavy frown.
