Aaron watched her face as she spoke. Her beautiful big eyes, pink lips, long blonde hair. Her full breasts and small waist. Wow, he just wanted to stare at her. As he looked down her figure at her hips he caught a glimpse of daylight slowly sliding across the sidewalk. “f**k, Cheryl wait two minutes. You will not remember talking to me, you will go straight home.” She shook her head in agreement. He reached up and wiped a tear away. Looking back at the sun coming up, he took off across the street, ran into a dark alley and flew home before the sun caught up to him.
Two minutes passed, and she blinked, looking around, wondering why she was standing there. She was walking home to cry her heart out but didn’t remember stopping and facing the opposite direction. As she turned to continue her walk, she smelled a faint scent, a woodsy and sexy scent. She sniffed her arm sleeve; the scent was on her clothes, but how? It was a very nice smell, but she couldn’t figure out how it got to her.
Making her way to her small apartment, she opened the door to see her little buddy Ash sitting on his rump wagging his tail. She walked in, threw her keys on the side table in the entrance way and bent down to pick him up. Holding him to her chest, she started to cry again. “Ash, I don’t know what we’re going to do now.”
Putting him down, she noticed mud on the bottom of her pant legs from that morning. She pushed them off and slid her top off. Throwing them in the trash can. “I should set them on fire but, my luck, the apartment building will catch fire.” Talking to Ash like he was going to answer her.
Walking over the fridge, she pulled out the milk and sniffed it. “Damn, this stinks just like everything else in my life.” The milk was sour, so she poured it down the drain in the kitchen.
She looked down at Ash. “You know you’re my only family Ash.” He wagged his tail harder like he understood her. Bending down she picked him back up and walked over to her used recliner. Sitting, holding her dog, crying, she picked up the remote and scanned the channels. As she was trying to figure out what to watch the TV went black. Big red letters scrolled across the screen PAST DUE, PLEASE PAY ASAP TO REACTIVATE YOUR TV SUBSCRIPTION. She sat there in silence, taking the remote she threw it at the TV smashing the screen. Holding Ash closer to her they both fell asleep from mental exhaustion.
After a few hours Ash jumped down and woke Cheryl up, looking down at her body she remembered she only had on her panties and bra.
“Maybe a hot bath will make me feel better.” Trying to tell herself to get up and move. As she walked out of the tiny living room she saw a piece of mail fly through her mail slot in her door. Walking over she picked it up off the floor. Turning it over, she read it was from the apartment office, opening it up she read it, her shoulders dropped along with her head in defeat. The office sent her a letter of eviction. She was six weeks past due and once someone is two weeks late, they start the eviction process. Dropping the letter on the floor she walked to her bathroom with no emotions left in her body.
Running a hot bath, she poured what was left of her bubble bath in the tub. Slipping her feet in the hot sudsy water she laid back as the tub filled up. Wondering if she should just kill herself, it would be easier than finding a job. Ash started to bark at her. “you’re right Ash, if I did that who would take care of you little buddy?” Once her hands started to wrinkle from the water she got out, dried herself off and put on the nicest pants suit she has. She had to go find a job before she becomes homeless.
She didn’t have a car so she can’t go to far knowing she will have to walk to work. Putting her cell phone in her purse she set out to see what jobs she can apply for that is near where she lives.
