Chapter 13

“My room” I hissed, “You asked for me, Alpha” I dragged on the last bit for a dramatic effect. I watched him stare at Henry, “Get a room while you're at it” His head snapped almost immediately. He charged towards me, oh boy, I just had to open my fat mouth. I closed my eyes and braced for impact. My feet were in the air, I didn't even feel him hoist me up, was that how fast he was? “Put me down! Put me down!” I yelled thrashing my feet. He placed me on his shoulders, using an arm to cross over my legs. “Henry? Help!” “You'll be fine Blondie.” he assured, strolling away. I wasn't okay, I was scared. Screw that, terrified. “I didn't call the raid. I swear,” “I've done nothing wrong “Let me go! You t**t! Please?” I kept begging and he ignored me as he went farther away from the gathering of people, was he gonna kill me? Is this it? s**t, he found out I'm from the Red Moon pack. “Just kill me, I wouldn't want to be a s*x slave or a diamond slave. Please” I felt his body go tense a bit. We were approaching a building, well secluded. Even in the dark it looked beautiful. What a spot to claim your trophies, “I know you're a killer, Henry too.” He swiped a card against the door, and it slid open, wasting no time he went in and dropped me on the sofa like he couldn't wait to get rid of me. “You're all killers” I spat bitterly. Our eyes locked and his were daring mine to speak. “I overheard Henry, beating a man shitless, bones cracking, you gave the order didn't you?” “We did what we had to” he replied his voice flat, like it was a routine. Nothing new. “You did what you had to? What do you mean you did what you had to?” I pressed, trying to buy time before this sicko ends me. I heard some like to discuss with their victims first. His face was blank as he looked me over and I could almost swear I perceived something sweet, like the morning after the club. He came closer and I could feel the air electrify, those gray-green eyes swept over me, taking in every bit. I felt like an artifact at an auctioning house, those silver eyes raked over me. Silver? What in the Twilight s**t is going on here? I wasn't aware werewolves could change the colors of their eyes, I don't even know s**t about being one. Is this normal, or does this happen when he gets bloodlust? Aaron's face came closer to mine, and I stilled, my breath became rough and all I could think of were his hands on me. The enemy, brutally taking me like I was his. “You've got dirt on your face.” he stated, snapping me out of my thoughts. I seemed to be the only one affected by this, or whatever has just happened. “Thanks” I muttered. I hated myself for wanting him. It was the adrenaline, scary things cause attraction, the fear of death obviously sponsored this. Or exposed how I've felt about him all along. Was I upset whenever I saw him? Or was it because I liked seeing him and didn't want to. I didn't want to /like/ someone else. Or love. He wouldn't go for me anyway, an impeached Luna, wolfless and useless, just like my Dad said. “He stole something from me, the diamonds I want you to provide. The diamond that shields my people from the curse placed on us by a witch” Aaron told me, his hands gliding around a bronze sculpture. “I lost 342 people that day. 210 men, 40 women and 92 kids. He deserves to die” I scanned his face for a sign of sadness, nothing. But, he sounded wounded. Like a person who had lost a part of them. “That's why I need your help Sarah, I won't promise that we'd get along. We never might. Yet, for the sake of my people I'm willing to make this work.” Aaron sounded genuine, like he'd beg if I asked him to. “You accused me of sending the raid” I blurted. “I did” his voice leveled. “Do you still think I did so?” “We'll find out won't we?” with that he handed me a hand. Hesitantly, I took it. “Henry told me, you'd rather be in bed than at the meeting tonight.” That snitch. “Yeah” “You'll be staying here tonight, make yourself at home Sarah.” I didn't bother asking why here and not my room. His eyes were gray-green again, I felt my gaze soften. Maybe I had misjudged him, maybe he only wanted to help his people and didn't know how. Good night, Aaron, I thought. His hold on my hand loosened and he swirled around. My gaze bored into his retreating back as he walked out the house. With Aaron gone, I went searching for the kitchen in hope of finding a bowl, which I did. I found a room with soft dark colours, and sat on the floor. I thought of everything that had happened to me recently and cried into the bowl. I was gonna save these people.
