The Hill

Here I am at the end of the road. Everyone in the town of Hillsville told me about this road. It’s too high to drive a car over, completely covered in gravel, and no one can see over the top of it. “It’s okay Livia, I wanted to see this and I can get to the top” a little pep talk for myself. I moved to this town about a year ago. Everyone is nice I guess. I get this strange feeling that I wasn’t meant to have any friends. My name is Livia Wills and I have lived down the road to this scary hill for over a year. “Okay we are here let’s explore” I can’t believe I’m doing this. I’m all alone, but whenever I ask about this hill I’m told it’s none of my business. Even my parents have gone so far as telling me to stay away. Thank god they are out of town or I would have been in so much trouble. I should start climbing this hill or I’ll never get the chance again. I climb over this wooden gate to keep people out and start my long journey up the hill. There is thick forest on both sides of me as I keep going up. I stop as I am almost up the hill because I hear voices of people. They sound familiar. What could they be? “I bet I could run faster than you,” one male voice said. “Nuh-huh I run the fastest out of my training group,” the other male says. Okay, confusing what the heck is a training group. These guys sound about my age. I wonder if I know who they are. I slowly found somewhere I could hide so I could peak over and see who they were. Those bushes should hide me perfectly, I snuck over there and looked at them and gasped. Oh my god, that is both Tristen and Christ, the most popular boys in school. Is that Rose and Lisa standing next to them? I looked around a little more and saw a whole village on top of this hill. What have I gotten myself into? “Livia is that you?” I wiped my head around so fast that I almost gave myself whiplash. “Uh hi Maddie” I said hopefully she didn’t catch my nervousness. “Hey Maddie what are you doing?” Christ said. “Guess we got a guest with us tonight guys” Maddie said with an evil grin. Maddie motioned for me to stand up and I ended up looking at all my classmates. “Uh hi everyone” I said hopefully they don’t recognize me. “Livia, why are you here?” Tristen decided this was time for him to talk. The two girls gave me the meanest glare they could muster up.
