Chapter 9

I could believe that the ladies with the fair pale skin look so pretty, she looks like a new model from Russia!

She had pale green eyes and it was so lovely. If so, Maxwell might have picked her or was he just interested in her alone all along?

"I said my name is Diane, miss jessica" she said with a lot of respect and I was surprisingly pleased. I smiled and rested my back and looked at her in her misery.

"How did you end up here? Did they bring you here just like others?" I asked and she shook her head.

"I was chosen as the alpha soulmate but I was rejected! And I was locked in a room and abused by the housekeeper!" She said and I chuckled and rolled around in my chair before stopping to look at her.

"If you have your chance, will you still want to be with the alpha?" I asked and he shook her head.

A nice answer to be honest bug why am I asking all this nonsense question, not like she is a friend or an ally. I don't ask this type of question, I just make my judgment.

So why her?

I don't care for now but let's see how things end up here.

"I will never want to be with a man that rejects me, I will rather pray to leave her and do well for myself in the outside world. I don't want to get stuck for life over here." She said and I was impressed.

"Quite impressive thinking!" I said and she bowed respectively again. I love this. She is the most sensible among all those that I have met.

You are watching every man will want by his side. An indepent woman!" She said and I can't tell if she is telling the truth or just bootlicking but honestly her techniques are working!

"Stop talking to you little boot licker, I don't understand what you Are talking about!" I said even though I knew I was already blushing hard like tomatoes.

"Well, I will be glad to teach you a few things! You are my step brother dumb mate, so I own you for now, well, technically, till he comes back! So let me train you.

I have been clueless on what to do for years, but now, I have a child to train. So Diane... hmm, I will schedule our plans and how we will rock my step brother's house before he returns from his annoying meetings!"

I said and she smiled and knelt immediately. "I really appreciate your generosity, miss Jessica!" Diane said and I smiled.

"But first, Diane, get me a cup of water from the kitchen" I said and she bowed and turned to leave before stopping.

"ma'am, I don't know my way around here, so I might delay a bit because I have to ask around!" She said and was surprised that she was honest with me this time around.

"Well, that's not hard, go down from the stairs at the front of my room and go left after three turns that you won't bother to look at, turn at the fourth and watch down straight to the last entrance and you will be at where you want to be!" I replied and she bowed and walked out.

It was quite odd that I helped her to figure out where she was heading. I don't know if it's her attitude or her beauty that got me attracted to her but I like her a bit and it won't be a problem to get along with her I guess.

She just needs a great tutoring and she will be fine as well!

But can she make it out of here? With Maxwell being a person I know doesn't give out his old toys.

She might be stuck here forever.

Not long after, she returned with my cup of water and I was amazed, she is really doing a good job and I might have gotten myself a good God daughter or pet!

Hooking on to Jessica was pretty smooth and easy and not up to what I imagined. I thought I might have to use different tactics and soften her but with little effort I got her.

She is a person with a kind heart and the kindness was locked away several years ago. Reason I don't know, but to think of her weird behavior

I can say, she is in love with the alpha. But he is her step brother and if there is anything between them it will definitely be lust.

Well, maybe that is why she refuses to get married and still comes up to fight with whoever is in his life. She really wished to let go but sadly she still has feelings for him.

"I want to take a nap now, you can find something else to do before I wake up and before I forget, if the housekeeper, lady han tried to mess around with you.

Tell her, you are under me. If she refused to hear you out. Come and report to me when I wake up." She said and went to lie straight on her bed.

I walked out of the room and my sixth sense woke up. I have to leave this permission as soon as possible. If I stay here long, I might have to leave with my dreams scattered.

I walked down straight after going down the stairs in front of her room and I came across a few maids who were murmuring. They already knew who I was.

So why won't they whisper? I didn't let their words get to me, so I kept walking and looking around for a way to get through the big wall we were camped in and fortunately.

I made it to the front door and I could see the big gate afar off.

I was about to smile at my success when the unwanted weed grew up and faced me again.

"Where do you think you are going?" She asked and I looked at her with a wicked smile.

"Lady Han, does house keeping also involve your master guests location?" I asked and she was pissed. So simple. She gets pissed at little things.

"Well, that will have to cost Miss Jessica to be your maid as well but as long as she won't, I won't. My time here will be spent in fun and enjoyment and this isn't only a bluff or just to pissed you off but a promise.

I will laugh at you every single time, lady Han and do you want to know why? Well it's simple but for a dubious mind like you, you will never understand, so I will do you a favor by telling you.

You can have your alpha Maxwell for yourself because I never wanted him but I won't give you your own peace of mind!" I said and her face changed.

She wanted to say something but she swallowed it and stared at me and I didn't back down as well and she angrily left the door and walked away.

I smiled and looked at the gate. I will surely go but maybe not this side and I still have things to do in this palace.

I thought to myself and went straight to my room.

After a few minutes, a knock sounded and I knew it was Sheila. I quickly went to open the door and she walked in with a food tray in her hands and looked around for a while longer before looking at me.

"Why didn't you open up before, I came over here before, I was almost caught by lady Han but you didn't even open the door or make a sound.

Did you sneak out of the room again?" Sheila said as she placed the food on the table and handed my food to me while she sat to eat her own.

"I didn't sneak out of the room, the housekeeper came again!" I said and Sheila froze.

"You mean, lady Han was here again? What did she do to you? Did she beat you? Did she insult you, tell me!" Sheila said and I smiled.

"no, lady han was really pissed when she came over and told me, to come out, that she was talking to Miss Jessica, the mistress!" I said and Sheila froze again.

"The mistress, what did she do to you?" Sheila said and I smiled again.

"Calm down, Sheila, I could easily guess that lady han and the mistress, miss Jessica were in a cold war, so I took the opportunity like you taught me to be humble.

I guess it worked as she asked a few irrelevant questions and I did hype her a little and now she is willing to take me as a subordinate and she said whenever lady Han violates any of my rights, I should report directly to her.

I was so happy as I appreciated her and found my way back here. Well, I exchanged words with lady han again but I didn't tell her that I was with miss Jessica now!" I said and Sheila quit eating almost immediately

She could not believe anything I said!

She kept blinking until I told her it was fine to talk now.

"What did you just say, hope all this didn't happen in your dream! Diane tells me you are not hallucinating or something. Tell me it's real!" Sheila said and I laughed.

"Well, take it or leave it, I just told you the truth of the matter and how favored I am at the moment, well, I owe it to you and luck!" I said and she placed down her food.

While I was still wondering what she was up to, she ran to me and hugged me. "I am so happy for you, Diane! At least, you won't get to suffer even after insulting the housekeeper who is known to be a goddess of war."

"It was luck, I guess!"I said and she went back to sit and continued her meal.

"Do you know that she is two thousand years old already?" I said and Sheila smiled. " I know she is quite aged but two thousand is quite notable!" Sheila said and I was confused.

She didn't sound surprised that much and my sound moved.

"How old is your wolf?" I asked and she chuckled.

"Well, if I calculate it properly, I guess the same age as that of the alpha!" She said nonchalantly and I almost fainted. All I knew was my empty plate fell out of my hand and that jolted me back to life.

I guess I only froze in shock!

"Two thousand and a hundred years?" I yelled and she laughed at my words.

"Yes, two hundred and a hundred years!" She replied and my brain slowly defroze.

"You are older than the mistress and I guess more than the housekeeper and you are so calm!"

"Of course yes, why are you so surprised though, I only aged a hundred more than the mistress! Well, a thousand more than the housekeeper, lady han! So I guess it's fine!"

She said and again, I was dumbfounded.

" The housekeeper, the most arrogant lady of the house, lady han is just a thousand and one hundred years old!" I said and she nodded.

I fell on my knees and bowed to her.

"Stop being dramatic about it!" She said and packed our plates.

"How old are you, Diane!" She asked and I became nervous.

"I am nine hundred years old!" I said and she was surprised as her expression spoke better in her silence.

"You are just a kid!" She said and I was shy to look at her face.

"Yes I am just a kid!" I replied and she laughed at me.

"It's nothing to be shy about, you are growing and in a few years you will be a thousand and within a blink, two thousand and three thousand. So be happy!" She said and I smiled and looked at her.

"You sure know how to comfort someone!" I said and she smiled and stood up.

"I have to go now!" She said and I smiled. "How do you get out of the kitchen without being noticed?" I asked and she patted my head. "We do have a break well, I think I can still do some talking before returning for my shift!

At least that is one thing they did that is humanly in this place. They won't let you die on time!" She said and sat down back!

"Do you think of leaving this place anytime soon!" I asked and she looked at me. "Please don't tell me you are thinking of escaping?" Sheila said and I was nervous.

"maybe, maybe not, I do want to leave this place, I don't belong here, do I?" I asked and she smiled.

" Leaving here is death. That is, the only thing that can make you leave here is by dying because you can leave no matter what and once you make the move to escape and get caught!

"Diane, think about it for now, I want to go back to my duty post, I think you should go and see your mistress, she might be awake and need you at the moment!" Sheila said and stood up And walked to the door.

"Escaping might have less than zero chance, but sometimes it's worth trying. Try to find out the best time to try it out.

Don't rush!" Sheila said and walked out immediately.

I looked around and stood up and dusted my clothes and walked out and headed straight for Miss Jessica's room.

She is really awake at the moment and she was eating already.

"Miss Jessica, I am sorry I came back late, my room is quite far from here!" I said with a bow immediately I walked in and she smiled.

"I am not mad at you and less I forget, are you still staying at the ice room!" She asked and I nodded and she was shocked.

"I will ask the house keeper to prepare another suitable room for you!" She said and I was surprised. So the mistress could be this nice and yet she is cold to everyone. Even the maid feels like she is a terror.

"Thank you ma" I said and bowed again and again.

She laughed and talked at the same time and it was funny but I didn't dare to laugh.

" Go and get the house keeper for me, you know lady Han right?" Miss Jessica said and I nodded and went out to look for the house keeper.

I searched and searched and I could not find her, I was surprised that when she was needed she would be nowhere to be found but when she is not needed.

Like a weed, she will keep showing up . Annoying creature!

I was fed up with looking around when I decided to go back to meet the mistress.

I ran to the room and to my greatest surprise she was already in the room.

She is nothing but creepy!

I walked in and bowed to the mistress and she smiled.

"Yeah, as I said earlier, lady Han. Prepare a room for Diane around. I don't want her to die in the ice cold room." She said and lady han was shocked.

" Ma!" She exclaimed and Miss Jessica looked up and was mad at her.

"must I repeat myself every single time! I said prepare a room for her!" Miss Jessica said and lady han looked at me with anger. I could tell she wishes to squeeze life out of me now. But was that really my fault?

"Okay ma, I will prepare the room as soon as possible and I will like you inform you that the prince of the neighboring clan will be here tomorrow for you!" Lady Han said and Miss Jessica nodded.

"That will be good, you know what is meant to be done, prepare a nice small meal for us and a separate side for our date. I don't want to make a mistake at all, lady Han!" She said and the housekeeper bowed.

" Remember to pack the plate!" She added and lady han looked at me.

"I am talking to you, lady Han!" She finally said and lady Han was forced to talk.

"What!"
