Chapter 1: Alias
My story starts right after my fifth birthday had started,I was wondering through the forest in our backyard looking for the ball my friend had thrown in. I remember walking and peeking under and over things as I passed by them, not quite paying attention to the tense silence that had settled in the autumn leaves overhead or the soft low crunch of twigs and withered leaves and certainly not the deep butter scotch eyes of the predator that stalked my small self. I remember that something red had caught my attention, splotches of it splattered across the floor of the forest, I remember picking up a sharp edged stone, kneeling as I poked the red fading liquid, unsure of what it had been. Though I realize it's ridiculous to ridicule a five year old for not knowing any better,I still do. I remember my head whipping around so fast that I had momentarily only seen stars. I could see nothing but his eyes because of how dark the place had been. He had coughed and wheezed so violently that it had alerted me of his presence and I remember a blood boiling scream leave my lips as a gigantic snowy white wolf with black sock like fur covering his paws as he stepped in to light that filtered through the forest in dancing swirls. I remember blinking and then he had bitten down at me. His canines sinking in to my shoulder, waist, left leg, stomach and back. I flailed around striking at the wolf, he howled in pain before scrambling off of me and running away. I held my body and dropped the stone that I had used without even realizing it, I remember stumbling through the forest and back in to my backyard. I remember hands touching me, blurry faces asking questions in a language I couldn't comprehend with the state I was in. Barely alive, barely breathing, barely standing with the indescribable pain rushing from my left side when darkness took root and I woke up a week later only to be told that the bite would leave a scar, well obviously, I had thought back then. My parents gazes were suspicious though, neither had smiled when we had gotten home and I had been happily making jokes and pretending to be a plane zooming through the house. As the weeks came to pass my childish self had heard murmmer's of truth as my parents spoke in hushed voices, hunched closely over the table studying something I could not see. I was a werewolf, a creature they despised with all their hearts, just turned and still a young mutt. They didn't seem to care that I had been their son not to many days before, but I was a stupid kid and had stayed. I remember waking up cold and hungry in the middle of the woods, limping as I called for my parents but they never came.  "Damn pup, calm down and wake the hell up! We're almost there and the armrest is almost in tatters."Ace my wolf yells in my head,I sat up as if electrocutes and flinch as the quiet was drained away by a flood of sound.  "Jesus,Ace. That was unnecessary." I growl rubbing my temples as I looked around the small bus. Everyone was either asleep or had earphones in so,meh.  "Armrest,Alias. Check it."I look down and widen my eyes at how tattered it looked.  "Shit."I cursed aloud running a hand through my shaggy black hair as I eyed the rugged looking armrest that had almost nothing left but claw marks. "I thought you said 'almost',Ace,this isn't almost,it is in f*****g tatters."I say the bus stopped and by the look the driver threw me,this was my stop but damn it, how the hell am I supposed to fix this? Ace hummed and gave me a toothy grin. Bastard. I stood and grabbed my bag before handing the bus driver a fifty even though my wallet's feeling that. The instant the bus is gone the tension leaves my shoulders and I shook my head. Sitting in a bus all day and night surrounded by crying babies and yelling children wasn't the best of choices I've made so far,as much as I like children and babies too....I definitely don't like 'em when their screaming my head off and keeping me awake.   "You have to keep that promise you made me, please,Alias?!" Ace suddenly begs, I pale as I remembered what he meant. I was eight and had just passed through a packs territory and Ace was whines that he wanted to join them or at least show some respect to their alpha even though we're both technically alphas we just don't have a pack to rule over. I promised him....rather stupidly- that I would greet an Alpha that was told to be nice and the Black Wood pack's Alpha fits that bill through and through. "Fine. I'll even ask him permission to stay. But how the heck am I- oh, I got a perfect idea." I say clapping my hands together,a bright smile tugging at my lips.  "What plan? And what was your question?"Ace asks sounding slightly nervous, my grin spreads wider as my eyes scan the forest behind me and the the town before me. It was a beautiful town with trees growing at every corner there wasn't much pollution so that's also a plus to this place.  "We're gonna cause some trouble here in Izroth to catch the nice Alpha's attention, not that it would be to big. BUT! It'll most probably be forgotten in two or more days.....maybe a year if we're lucky."  I mumble at the finish not to sure about the last part. "No you will not,Alias. We might might miss our mate if you were to do that. Let's just try and find some wolves to show us to the pack house and alpha."I shrug at the suggestion. "Whatever you want my furry friend."I jumped head first in to a pond near by to wash the herbs that hid my werewolf scent away. Having finished I went straight for the forest instead of the town touching things and leaving my scent behind as I did so. Humming I watched as a night owl swept down and caught a small mouse before twisting and flying to perch itself in a tree not to far from me. The mouse squirmed around before the owl tore through it, I looked away feeling a tad bit guilty. When I was five I had to eat mice and rats, sometimes rabbits and other creatures,my hunting skills improved a lot because of that but the problem was each time I hunted I felt like I was hunting myself in a way. My prey are always weaker than me, reminding me of my past self and what I had went through. So I feel guilty every time I tore through the meat I had hunted because I know they had been scared when I had did so,making me re-think my eating style luckily Ace talked me out from becoming a grass eater he said. A twig snapped and I turned around swiftly, I had expected it to be werewolves but instead I get a man twice my size, muscles that could make the ROCK feel shame and eyes that could freeze the ocean and yet my wolf screams one word and one word alone.  "MATE!" The man growls my wolf having said that at the same time before freaking out over how heavenly his voice sounded....holy f**k. MY mate is a male and a vamp at that from what I could smell.
