2 It wasn’t until Samantha and Shadow passed through the swinging doors that they realised just how soundproof the reception was. As soon as they stepped into the hallway, they could hear multiple dogs. Some were whining, others barking, and there was even a howl or two in the mix. “Awrooo!” Shadow replied, bouncing up and down. She hadn’t been in the company of other dogs, supernatural or not, and the prospect of playing with them seemed to excite her. Samantha steadied the lead and pulled the hellhound puppy away from one of the doors. A thin window revealed a chaotic playroom with at least ten or twenty other dogs chasing a ball.
