Tumayo ang abogado ko, si Atty. Valdose, kalmado pero nakakatakot ang aura. “Your honor, may we cross-examine the witness?” Magalang nitong tanong sa presiding judge.
“Proceed.”
Lumapit siya kay Crystal, dala ang iPad. “Mrs. Velmorez, can you confirm that this photo was posted by you on social media with the caption ‘Three months strong’?”
“Yes.”
“And can you confirm the timestamp shows it was posted after the date you claimed you were on bed rest?”
Namutla na si Crystal at tumahimik. Kita ko ang pag-igting ng mga panga niya at matalim na tingin ang ipinukol sa akin.
“That’s… I may have mixed the dates,” sagot niya. Nagpunas siya ng pawis sa noo kahit sobrang lamig ng aircon sa loob ng court.
“Mixed the dates?” balik ni Atty. Valdose. “Or mixed the truth?”
