-UNFORESEEN EVENTS- "Good morning ma'am. Here's your coffee!" "Thank you." Zeniel gave smile to anna- which was her secretary for a long time. She signed the last piece of contract before taking her coffee. "Do I have an appointment today?" She ask before taking a zip on her coffee. "Actually, One of your investor wants to have a private meeting to you at 1 pm ma'am." "Who?" "Jack Elton." She fell silent for a moment. She took again a zip on her coffee and sigh. "Noted! so can you please leave me for a moment anna." "Sure ma'am, and by the way, You look great." After saying those, Anna leaves. She sigh again. She glanced on her watch. One hour before the meeting. She opened her mini laptop and call her one of her friends through skype. She search the name angeline on her list and then call her. It was not a long minutes before angeline accepts it. "Yes ms. manager?" On the screen was jenny. "Why is it you again jen?" She hastily said. Jenny laughs which makes her annoy. "Where is angeline?" "Hey gel! Ms. Manager badly wants to talk to you" She rolled her eyes. "Whatever Ms. CEO!" She teases her back which makes jenny frown. She actually knows that jenny also doesn't want to be tease as ms. CEO. Well, In her mind, she started it. "You wanna talk to me babe!" Appearing on the screen was angeline beautiful face. She really admire her. "You might wanna greet me darling, since we haven't seen each other for months." "Fine! Hello Zeniel! How are you? " The way angeline talks, She can't help not to laugh. If people will hear their conversation, They probably think it was only just a small talk. Angeline's style of talking is quite interesting for her. She feel the sarcasm on it's voice. "Thank you for that warm welcome and greeting." she answered while smirking. Angeline rolled her eyes. "Whatever! So why do you call anyway?" She makes her expression straight. She looks serious now. "I called you for an important matter!" "Like?" Angeline's voice is interested. She snap on the air and laugh. "Perfect! I really love you darling! She's laughing while saying those words. "Tss! You disturb me just to say you love me? Of course, I love you too-" "Me too!" Jenny's face appeared again on the screen. "Get off jenny!" Angeline's face is irritated which she makes her laugh again. She badly misses them. It's been a long time since they went out together. "Zel, I have to do something! Call us the other day okay." "okay, take care guys" The camera went off. Signal that angeline drop off the call. She smiled and close her mini laptop. She also close the folders that was on her table. Her glance stops at her sofa. She went there, throwing herself. It was a tiring day for her. She had to do a lot of reading and analyzing those contracts, paperworks and so on. She look madly at the one who question that to her. It was alice- The girl she hates very much. Alice just laugh and raise her both hands. "Fine, You got me!" She walk next to alice. It was that tuesday morning when she found out about the true status of her parents. She don't even understand why they have to quarrel like that. It makes her also mad. Back to their old life, Her family was happy. It was like, They have no problem at all. She go to the rooftop of their school. She was at her Last year in highschool that time, and it seems like she having a hard time to deal with her teachers. She sat on the edge, making her feel okay. Seeing the whole entirely of her school os such an amazing thing she always want to. The skies were as blue like it will never fade away. She sighed. She wonders when will be the time she will be seeing the beauty of the world. "Instead of going here, Why don't you just attend your classes darling?" She was taken aback in reality when she heard Angeline ask her. She just shrugged her shoulders. She put her two hands on her back. "It has never been this dark my life is." she started speaking while silently gazing into the blue skies. "I thought I have the best family all over the families in the world! I have been born as a happy human.. My parents show me how the world is beautiful. Of course, that's what I have been believing. For seventeen years, They hide me a secret!" An act just to get their inheritance! How can they did to me?" She was now crying. She doesn't want to cry but Her heart was like to burst in tears. She haven't cried since last night, when she found out those freak secrets of her parents. Angeline hugs her which makes her cry again, harder than she thought. Zeniel Slowly open her eyes. She touched her eyes, there were tears. A dream! A dream that makes her cry again. She pulled her handkerchief and wipe her tears. She got up and got back to her seat. "I will inform mr. jack, Five minutes before the meeting start ma'am.." "That would be great! thank you anna" Anna smiled at her and leave her again in her office. She took her bag and apply some light make up on her face. Atleast in that way, Her looks still can intimidate someone. She look into her mirror and her hands snapped. "Perfect!" Ps. This makes him more appealing. Jack has been one of her investor for a long time. "Please take your seat Mr. jack elton!" She said in a warm voice. Jack smile at her and seat on one of the chairs. She gave an intense look at jack, Wondering what is the real reason why he set up an emergency meeting to her. "So why do you want to talk to me?" she began to talk starting with the question. "I'm out being your investor.." This made her laugh. As expected, Jack will leave her side. "You haven't notice that I'm aware your pulling out your shares slowly, why is the reason hmm?" she calmly ask. When in comes to business, She can stay calm even if she was in her anger inside. " I just want to pulled out my shares.." She stand up and walk towards him. Tapping his shoulders, She drop words. "Is it because Mr. Tan offer you a high price?" Jack's gaze went over her. "What are you talkin' about?" She laugh at Jack's replied. She knew jack will deny it but she just wants to test something. "Being indenial doesn't save you from what you are doing jack!" She said and walk again towards the opposite side of her original side since the position of the table is like a quadrangle. "Fine! You got me! but how do you know that I work with Mr. tan?" She goes back to her original seat. Getting from her drawer an envelope, She took her bag and stand, Walking back to Jack's side. She put the white envelope on the table. "The More you pull out your shares, The more It is going to less, So I think you just made the decision! Here, take this." Jack's face turned into red and she knew that he was shamed. " I just talked to the board of directors and they agreed, after all, who would want a man who will sold his company just for money .." sarcasm was filled her voice. She was not angry but she just want to be sarcastic. " I helped you! You should thank me for helping you not to take much time to MY company!" she said emphasizing the word MY. Jack didn't answered so she walks towards the door. Just when about she go out, She turned around and say, "Man who chase money will be caught by a bait, And he will be the victim. I hope you have a good day jack." ****** Zeniel Let a deep sigh before opening the door of her car. Her worries was finally take away when she sees her little angel running for her direction. She opened her arms widely and embrace michelle as soon she was infront of her. "How's your school baby?" She ask in her sweet voice, Dropping her daughter in the backseat. "Mom, I got three stars, and My teacher's says I'm very intelligent.!" "Really?" She starts the engine of her car and drive slowly. "Yes mommy.!" "Aww! Termino de mi mija.!" In japanese, It means 'my child'. Knowing that She was one eight spanish makes her study the spanish languange a bit. "What's that means mom?" "Just think It was you.." "Alright..But Isn't I'm so smart mom?" She laugh at Michelle's question. Her daughter really is a cute and funny one. Her precious gem. "Of course, My baby is intelligent like me." She proudly said. Michelle was silent for a moment and she was not used to it. Usually, Her daughter will always talk about the events in her school. "Mom?" "Yes baby?" "If I will be gone in a sudden, Please don't lose your smile. Your so beautiful when you smile mom!" Hearing those words coming from her daughter, She accidentally screeched the brake. Her heart was almost in race, beating fast. She look at michelle with a worried face. "Please don't tell such silly things baby! I can't live without you!" She can hardly say. And for the first time in her life, she felt so much afraid, so much fear of losing her daughter. "I'm sorry mom!" "Just please, Promise to mommy not to say again those words, Please baby!" Time for her to wake up and do her daily routine, Taking a shower first before going to the kitchen. Infact, their house was not that small, neither big. For her, It was enough for the two of them. She prepared their breakfast, then goes back to their room. She sat on her bed next to michelle. Kissing her forehead before deciding to wake up. "Hey there baby! Time to wake up..!" Michelle eyes slowly opened, She was smiling to her that makes her heart filled with joy. "Good morning mom!" Upon hearing this, She carry michelle on her lap. "Did my baby have a good sleep? No nightmares?" "Yes mom!" "Good to hear, Now let's watch your face first before taking your breakfast, okay?" "Okay mom!" Michelle kissed her on cheeks before they totally go to the bathroom. After that, Michelle runs going down to the kitchen, while she was at her back. She served her daughter's favorite. It's the cheese hotdog. They began to eat when michelle suddenly speak. "mom?" The spoon on her hand was stop by her daughter's voice. "yes baby?" "Can I still see you after school?" She drop her spoon and sat beside her daughter. And then she embrace her tightly. "Of course baby! of course! you can see me after school.." Michelle let out a little laugh. "Mom! Can't breath.!" She loosened her embrace and then she level her eyes to Michelle's eyes. "I'm sorry! I was just- uh- Love you so much.." "Me too mom!" And that response makes her smile again. "Your so sweet baby! Now eat your breakfast before you will be late.." After their breakfast, She prepared her daughter's bag, and also bath her. Consuming an hour for them before they were at her car, driving slowly while the music is playing. She glanced on her watch. It was still seven in the morning, One hour before her daughter's class starts. "Mom, Is it okay that I'll be late?" "Oh honey! It's not okay, but don't worry, Your not gonna late !" She said and wink at her. She was about to turn right when a big truck was coming into them. Her heart was in race. Her foreheads were sweating and her hands were trembling. She tried to turn left but her hands. can't move. She look at her daughter who was very terrified. She stretch her hand to get her daughter. Her daughter come and embrace to her, She suddenly get out of the car but They were push by the forced of the truck and her car. Her daughter was throw in not a long distance to her, while she was having a hard time to stand, since she was hit by a metal comes from the car. She crawls while crying. Tears were falling nonstop. It was such a heart breaking and terrifying for her to see her own daughter, crashing into one of the stone. Bloods spilled into the stone. While she was losing her consciousness, She saw a light. "Michelle!" She just only said that and then fades away. ******* ******** ********** Zeniel was in the middle of the clouds. She was standing there for a long time, not wanting to walk. "Mom!" She glanced around when she heard her daughter's voice. "Michelle!" she mumbled, and then began to walk, following the voice calling her. She was lead into a beautiful blue lake. It was a very beautiful lake, indeed. Far away from where she is, She can see a figure of a little girl. "Baby? Is that you?" Her tears started to fall when the little girl runs to her and hugged her tightly. She also embrace her. "Yes mom!" Her heart was filled with joy. "I'm glad your alive, Come, let's go home.." She take her daughter's hand but michelle refused. Confusion written on her face. "I want to show you something mother!" She still follow her daughter. They came into a long, golden path. She step back. She was not that dumb not to know that this is the path going to death. "What? what do you mean michelle?" "I love you mom! But There is a man who keeps on inviting me.." She cried hard, begs and kneel infront of her child. "Don't go! baby please! Don't go.!" "He says I have so much friends there, Will I come back mom?" Terrified, She began to hold Michelle's hand, but it slowly fading. "Please, dont!" Her heart mourn when her daughter's appearance was gone. He cried and angrily shouted. "Why? Why on earth I have to feel this? " Her knees was trembling that she feel on. Her eyes were still dropping a tear when suddenly the skies she was laying open. She was fall into a deep hole. ************* ********* "Michelle!" She then,open her eyes and glance around. She was at the hospital bed. Next to her was her friends, Angeline and Jenny, who have worried faces. "Where is my daughter?" She ask them but no one answers. "Please tell me, where is she? where is my daughter?" She then began to freaks out. She doesn't want to believe that her daughter was gone but the way her friends act confirms that her dream is true. Her friends come into her side and tries to calm her, but who can calm a woman who was just got into an accident with daughter. "Calm down Zell! It will bring no good to you!" Angeline said which makes her blood boil. She threw a mad look at her. "Calm down?!! How the hell can I calm down if I don't know what happened to my daughter? My little daughter!" She was crying again. It's not enough for her to say she was hurt. She was totally broken, inside and out. "Please, tell me what happened to her.. Please" she said, almost crushing into angeline clothes. Angeline was about to open when Jenny injects her something. She was still crying when she feel her eyes wants to closed and her body was like, become weak. "I'm sorry! but she's in comma" Unconscious, She heard what jenny said before she was drown to sleep. Lovelots? ******** Zeniel regained her consciousness for about twelve hours, and when she woke up, Her family was there. She closed her eyes again, wishing that she can still sleep. Her mother,who sat next to her, caressed her hair and said some words. "I know you hear me, I'm sorry Zen! For all the things I've done.." She doesn't drop a single word. Opening her eyes, She just stare at her mother emotionless. She wasn't prepared and never to be. "My daughter! My daughter!" only she can say in such a low voice. Her body is weak. Her heart was still in pain. Everything seems to be fading on her eyes, even the colors that she used to know that give lights to life was like a dull color for her now. "Michelle was in the emergency room.." She tried to get up and pulled out the mask on her mouth. "Zeniel, What are you doing? Your body was still weak?" Her father's voice said. She just throw a cold glance to them. "My daughter badly needs me! And If you don't understand that, You may leave me ALONE." She said and walk slowly going to the floor. Her body maybe weak but no one can stop her boiling emotions pushing her to see her daughter. Her mother came rushing to her, trying to touch her but She just raised her hand. "Don't! I don't need your help!" She said in a coldly voice.She walks to the corridor while her hands were on the wall. It was her only way to walk. A nurse notice her while she was having a hard time to walk. "Ma'am, where are you going ?" she was kindly ask by the nurse. "I need to see my daughter in the emergency room, She needs me.. Please." The nurse helped her walk. and even guided her going to the emergency room. "What is your daughters name ma'am?" "Michelle Red." The nurse attention flew to the blue book she was holding, and then she was guided to the last bed inside the emergency room. And there is her daughter, Sleeping with many apparatus on her body. This terrible made her cries again. "baby..! please wake up! Mom needs you!" The nurse was caressing her back. "What is her condition?" "Thankfully, She doesn't have a fracture in her bones, But she was in comma. and the chance was either she will live or die.." Her body trembles upon hearing these. She can't afford losing her. " Can I stay here?" Seeing the nurse shakes her head, she wants to freak out, but she hold herself. "Can I then visit her everyday? please.." "Sure ma'am.. But please recover fast." She nodded in despair. She was about to answer when the door of the room suddenly opened, coming inside was her two friends who were very worried. "Zell.." Angeline's voice was low, full of empathy and pity. "Please go back to your room, You never eat anything since yesterday!" jenny said but she shakes her head. She doesn't want to leave her daughter alone. "I'm not hungry.!" Angeline sat beside her and hugged her. " You need to eat, to recover your energy! If you will not recover then You don't deserve your daughter. Think about her! think about michelle! She will not be happy seeing you now.." Every words struck her mind, though it was a harsh word, but angeline was right. She cried again and walk right next to michelle, then she kissed her daughter's forehead. "I will go back afterwards baby" She said while angeline hold her back to support her in walking while jenny was the one who open the door. ************ Zeniel wiping her lip when jenny speak. "You parents was-" "Jenny, I am not interested.." she answered with a cold voice. Hearing about her parents wants her to vomit all she eat that afternoon. Jenny was taken aback while angeline was silent in a side. She feel guilty about yelling at jenny but she just can't help it. "You don't have to yell.. I'm sorry." jenny said in a low voice and leaves the room. She was silently hurt and become quiet. "I may say, You have done a bad move.." angeline said to her which makes her turned her head into Angeline's side. Her friends attention was in outside. and she knows in herself, she, too was disappointed with her sudden outburst. "We know your situation long ago, but that doesn't mean you have to live forever on it.. They may hurt you but they were still your parents.." "Parents??" Her mind was in chaos. She can't understand angeline why she was telling those to her. " It was not easy for me angeline! Maybe you know some story of mine, but there are some you don't know.." she said in a mocking tone. And for the past whole week, She was always on her daughter's room since michelle was transferred to a high class room, which have a complete things. And everytime she was going into her daughter's room, She always afraid, so much.She was peeling a banana when her cellphone rang, Only to find out Anna was calling. "Good Afternoon ma'am!" "Good Afternoon too anna..!" "Board of directors were expecting you at two pm for the urgent meeting.." "Okay.. Thank you, I'll be there before two." She said and ended the call. She sigh, She can't even look after or monitor her company because she paid all her attention to her daughter, who was still no progress. She always talk to her even if she knew that her daughter wasn't that one hundred percent listening. Dialing her younger brother, Josh Answered it. "josh, are you free this 2 pm?" "yeah, why?" "I may need you to look after me for michelle, Is that okay?" " Oh? okay, be right there before two." "thank you." she mumbled in a low voice as she ended the call. ***** Walking with grace, Zeniel barged into her private room, where she always held for private meetings, Not even smiling to the board which makes them uneasy. She was always have her smile whenever she was talking to them but this is different now. "Atlast, You came!" From her left side, Aron Speak. She didn't give him a glance, not even a single glance. she walk like she didn't hear anything. Her gaze were straight not until she reached for her respective chair. In her hand was her favorite ballpen. The atmosphere was almost intense. She glanved at Mr. Wardson before speaking. "What's the sudden meeting?" People in the room look to each other, and she's not dumb not to notice their meaningful exchange of looks. "Something must be very important for you to look with each other huh?" She said in a bit sarcasm. "Ms. Zeniel, We're sorry to say this, but you company is going into bankruptcy!" Her forehead knots. She was only gone for a week, how come is that possible? "Excuse me?" "You heard it Ms. Zeniel. Your company was going-" She cut layla from speaking. "I wasn't referring to that ms. layla, How come my company- OUR- supposed to be was going into bankruptcy? I was only gone for a week.." She said a cold voice. Questioning them with her cold voice, cold eyes that shows power and dominance. "The sales of the books were on the verge of going down, that's why -" She raised her hand to stop rocky from speaking which was very effective for the people inside the room. " I was gone for a week, Not for a month. And you were calling me for urgent meeting just because the sales were low? Have you, BOARDS OD DIRECTORS, even think of a way to be out of it? To make our sales higher again?" While saying, Her glances were on them. "Are you trying to understimate-" "Mr. Rocky, You have been a good partner to me but the attitude you were showing to me now was absolutely a pity for me, not to know that I have a partner who have such gross attitude!" "Ms. Zeniel, That's enough! Do you think it was a proper for you to speak like that?" She turned her glanced to kaycee, and simply rolled her eyes. Breating out, she calm herself. "So what are you trying to say then Mr.Rocky?" Rocky simply smirked at her, with a boastful face, He stand. "Board of directors including me,wants to pull out our shares!" Far from what she expected. "Are all the board will do that?" "I can't!" Her glanced turned to Maica who arise her voice. She doesn't said a word and waiting for others to speak but, when minutes passed and people in the room were talking to each other, not wanting to speak but showing disrespect. She finally stand and moves her body, facing her window,seeing her reflection into it. "The meeting is over, And I'm waiting for your resignation then!" When no one answer and heard the door closed, Her tears started to fall. She devoted all her time and life to build her company, not to be lose by just a simple problem. It was a pity for her to be in that situation.Can't forgive a parents,Arguing with friend, Almost losing her and her daughter's precious life,her company.How she wish It was all a bad dream!
