Talia tried to keep occupied with her work, making bread and even baking a pie or 2, but she kept looking Lorek. he looked so peaceful resting like that, she wasn't sure if he was really asleep but it gave her a moment to admire him. He was indeed handsome, dark brown hair, green eyes, a strong jawline, a great smile. she found herself blushing at the thought, although it's hard not to see that he's attractive. "what happened to his face?" Layla snaps her out of her thoughts and she gives Layla a disapproving look "you mean the scar along his jaw? he's been to war Layla, war is dangerous, most people don't survive it at all." She says seriously and Layla nods "it makes him look kind of scary. but, he's not scary, he seems really nice." Talia smiles when she says that "He does, doesn't he? that's why we are helping him." She ushers Layla back to work finishing up their orders for the day "lock the door." Layla nods as Talia leaves to go deliver the orders and she locks the door. she then goes to the back watching Lorek. he opens his eyes to see Layla staring at him and he seems amused "something on your mind kid?" She nods eagerly "you have a gift too right? can I see it?" He gives it some thought before standing up "watch closely." he puts his hand out over the floor and the building begins to shake like an earthquake. Layla's eyes go wide as this happens "you're doing that?" He nods before closing his hand and the shaking stops "I'm not really sure what to call it, but I can sort of control the ground around me." He sits down again "how often do you see the future?" She shrugs at his question "it's really random, I guess it depends on who I'm around. I haven't seen anything in a long time, until you walked in." He gives a simple nod at that and before he can reply Talia returns walking into the back "you're awake. that's good. it'll be dark soon, and I think I found the perfect path to get you out of town. while doing my deliveries I saw some alleyways that aren't being watched as heavily." Lorek is intrigued by this "good. I think I can manage on my own though. I don't want to put you at risk any more than I already have." He says feeling a bit guilty about putting them in this position "we are going to help you." Talia says firmly making it known she won't take no for an answer. "now let's get moving." He is slightly surprised by her insistence but he could see she wasn't backing down "fine. if you insist." He grabs his sword and puts his cloak back on pulling the hood up over his head to hide his face again. Talia leads the way holding onto Layla's hand as they quietly but quickly navigate the alleys. The town guards were definitely on high alert, patrolling the streets, they had to be careful. they were making good progress, however before making it into the next alley a guard spots them "halt!" Lorek keeps his head down as the guard comes over to them "no one is to be out, let me see your face." He looks right at Lorek. Lorek debates for a moment before pulling the guard off his horse and knocking him unconscious. He climbs onto the horse and looks down to Talia and Layla "I can make it from here. you should get back before-" He doesn't even get a chance to finish his sentence when another guard spots them "you there! stop!" Lorek lowers his hand to Talia "come with me. if you stay, they will take you and Layla, they will know about her gift." Layla doesn't even hesitate to grab Lorek's hand climbing onto the horse and as the guard gets closer Talia follows suit climbing on as well. Lorek is quick to get the horse moving running through the streets, catching the attention of more guards that begin the chase after them. he manages to make it out of town onto a forest trail. he holds his hand out and the trees begin shake, a few trees falling behind them blocking the path before the guards can catch up. even though he has blocked the path, he pushes the horse to keep running. Talia was internally freaking out, was she a fugitive now? a criminal? she left her life behind to go with this man that she barely knows. A small piece of her wouldn't admit it, but it was kind of exciting.
