Chapter 6: Peculiarities

"Amazing!" Aelia shouted, the first to recover from what happened. "You're truly incredible, Beau." Beau blushed at Aelia's compliment. "It's very powerful! It's a marvelous invention!" Hebrew joyfully stated. "I'm glad you liked what I made for you, Hebrew," Beau said to his friend, feeling overwhelmed with happiness. Beau chuckled when Hebrew hugged him. "Thank you so much, Beau, for this. I won't need to use my old bow anymore." "Have you decided on a name for it?" Aelia asked. Beau shook his head. "Since you made it, you should be the one to name it." "But I can't think of a suitable name for it," Beau scratched his head. "In that case, let's just call it 'Gun,'" Aelia suggested with delight. "Why?" asked Hebrew. "Because I feel like it," Aelia gave a simple response, and she squealed when Beau agreed. "Surely, this will be a hit if we sell it. And since I named it, I should get a percentage," she said, her eyes gleaming with thoughts of money. "I have no plans of making many to sell. I just made these for me and for Hebrew. Besides, I don't have money to buy materials anymore as I used up my savings in making our weapons," Beau explained. "And also, I think people aren't ready for such an invention. It's too destructive and too dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands," Hebrew added, leaving Aelia silent and disappointed by their words. They stood frozen in their places when they heard Dew shouting their names. They peeked through the window, and Dew was outside, looking at them with disapproval while trying to extinguish the blue fire that spread to other trees and was now close to her flowerbeds. They immediately apologized and received a lengthy scolding. "I can't wait to see what you've made for me, Beau!" Aelia eagerly said. Beau nodded before opening the second box, revealing two smaller silver swords compared to the typical ones. Aelia was stunned by the beauty of the two swords. She was about to reach for them when Beau stopped her. "You can't use these inside. We need to go outside, although they're small, they require a wide space when in use," Beau explained, and Aelia nodded in agreement. They went out towards the forest at the back of their house to use the weapons. They also brought Hebrew's weapon and another box containing the weapon Beau made for himself. Aelia shivered as she took the two silver swords and was surprised that they were not heavy. "They're so light," Aelia commented. "Those two swords are extraordinary. Their blades can detach from the handles and return. It suits you well since you're a channeler like me," Beau explained, leaving both of them in awe. "Let me show you how to use them," Beau said to Aelia, handing him the two swords. In just a few seconds, the two swords in Beau's hands were enveloped in black energy. Besides being a healer, he was also a channeler, a marvel in his own right. Only Hebrew, Aelia, and his father knew about it. Dew decided to keep his identity as a channeler a secret because of his use of healing powers in the town center. Beau swung the two swords, separating their blades, and they easily pierced a tree, returning to his hands. The two were astonished once again, witnessing a new kind of weapon unique to their continent. "That's how easy it is," Beau said before handing back the swords to Aelia. "Now, your turn." Aelia swallowed nervously as she took the swords from Beau. She transferred her shadow magic to the swords, making them glow in a lilac hue. "Just focus your concentration on your target," Beau instructed, and she followed suit. After a few moments, Aelia also swung the swords. Like before, they separated and struck a tree, but this time they didn't penetrate; instead, they just hit the tree then returned. Although not as powerful as Beau's demonstration, Aelia's performance was impressive. "Well done! You just need to practice using it, and it will deal more damage," Beau praised Aelia, who was delighted with her accomplishment. "What do you call these?" Aelia asked. Beau scratched his head, "I call these the 'Fangs of Shadow.' I based them on your power." "What a beautiful name!" Aelia complimented enthusiastically. "Those weapons suit you perfectly, Aelia," Hebrew added, equally pleased. Hebrew then asked Beau, "What did you make for yourself?" Beau immediately opened the last box, revealing a weapon similar to Hebrew's but with a golden hue and slightly larger. "This is similar to yours, Hebrew. The only difference is that it doesn't require bullets. As a channeler, I'll just transfer my power to make it work," Beau explained. "Like this." Beau aimed his weapon at a large rock, transferring his magic until the tip of his weapon lit up. When he flicked it, a black magical burst struck the rock. There was an explosion, and as the dust settled, they saw the rock shattered into pieces, leaving a large hole in its place. "That was amazing!" Aelia exclaimed, delighted by her friend's demonstration. "Your power is incredible, Beau. It is just a common dark magic, but it's incredibly strong," Hebrew commented. Beau possessed common dark magic, the most common and considered the weakest type, akin to common light magic. However, as Hebrew noted, Beau's power was exceptionally potent, as if it were not common dark magic. His father had noticed this unique strength for a while. "You're really impressive! Not only are you a healer, but you're also a channeler, something extremely rare," Hebrew praised, scratching his head. "There's just one thing I'd like to ask of you. Please don't use these weapons recklessly. They might cause chaos and significant danger for us and others. If possible, let's keep these a secret for now," Beau reminded Hebrew and Aelia. "Don't worry, Beau. We won't show these to anyone," Hebrew assured. "We'll only use them with your permission," Aelia added, and Beau was pleased with their response. "It might be better if we hide our weapons in our own dimension bag," Beau suggested, and the two agreed. "God of Space, Auberto! Expand the cosmos! Dimensional Bag, unleash thy power!" Hebrew and Aelia simultaneously chanted the spell. A formation appeared on their palms, and they placed the boxes containing their weapons inside. Meanwhile, Beau didn't need to chant the spell. He effortlessly summoned his dimension bag, controlling it with just his thoughts. It was the first spell Beau had ever created, and it stood alone in his repertoire. Despite being his first, it was extraordinary as it could contain living things. Its space was also much larger compared to other storage spells, like the magical pouch that required a small bag to cast. "You're really enviable, Beau. Our creators truly favor you. Not only are you powerful, but you're also incredibly talented as a crafter, fixer, and a maker. You can also use spells without even chanting them. It's quite unfair; if I didn't know you, I would really think you're a child of one of our creators," Aelia said, teasing Beau.
