Exhausted, Aelia, Hebrew, and Beau returned home from the forest after their training with their new weapons. Hebrew and Aelia were so delighted with their new arms that they lost track of time, and it was already eight in the evening.
"I need to go now, I didn't inform my mom that I'll be sleeping over," Hebrew said.
"Are you not waiting for dad?" Beau asked because Dew had left earlier, called to the town hall.
"No. It's already late. Well, I'm off," Hebrew bid his farewell.
"Take care!" said Aelia.
"Sure, take care on the way!" Beau added.
As Hebrew was about to leave, he suddenly stopped, smelling something burning.
"Are you still cooking, Beau?" he asked, and Beau frowned.
They all panicked when they noticed smoke coming from their living room. They rushed out of the kitchen, and half of their living room and the door were already engulfed in flames.
"By the sacred waters, blessed by the Goddess of the water, Elheira! Let the tears of nature dance upon the waves of the seas! Waterball!" They simultaneously used water spells to extinguish the fire.
However, Aelia paused when she noticed three figures outside the window. She immediately felt fear.
"Beau! Hebrew! We need to go now!" Aelia nervously told them.
"What? Why? We can still put out—" Beau didn't finish his sentence when Aelia spoke again. "There are people outside. And... And I'm sure they're the ones behind the fire. Whoever they are, I have a feeling they mean us harm."
Hebrew and Beau turned their gaze outside and saw the figures of three people. They felt fear too.
"Let's go to the back," Beau told the two, and they quickly ran to the back of their house.
When they opened the back door, they were shocked to see five figures in black cloaks, hiding their faces.
Due to fear, Aelia and Hebrew held onto Beau. And Beau felt the trembling of the two.
"Dad is not here, and we can only rely on ourselves," Beau reminded them. "I sense that those in front of us are dangerous. Bring out your new weapons."
"God of Space, Auberto! Expand the cosmos! Dimensional Bag, unleash thy power!" Beau uttered the spell, and his dimension bag opened.
Beau took out his weapon and Aelia and Hebrew followed, taking out their respective weapons.
"Stay alert, and never stray far from me," Beau reminded.
"Good evening, kids! Do you remember me?" a voice, especially familiar to Aelia, spoke.
The man who spoke lowered his hood, and they all gasped when they saw who it was. None other than the man who enslaved Aelia, the man they helped against the scorpion's venom.
"N-No..." Aelia said in disbelief and was close to tears due to fear. Beau also felt the tremor in Aelia.
"Calm down, Aelia. We won't let them take you," Beau said.
"What should we do, Beau?" Hebrew asked fearfully.
"If possible, we won't engage with them. If there's a chance, we'll run."
"What's your purpose?" Beau bravely asked them.
"I am here to claim what's mine! My slave!" the man answered, causing more fear to Aelia, so she held onto Beau even tighter. "And I am here to take both of you! My new slaves!"
Three weeks have passed, and they thought no one was chasing them, but they were wrong.
"Why? Why are you doing this? We had an agreement. We saved your life, so why?" Beau asked, but the man just laughed.
The man said, "Gratitude is not in my vocabulary, kid. Power and wealth are my only desires. Buying a slave is too expensive, so I can't let my little cat be free. And now, I will make you my new slave, kid. I need your power to become richer. And you too, young lion, will be taken."
"You're an evil!" Hebrew shouted, making the man laugh even more.
"I know, kid. I'm an evil creature. So, don't resist anymore. If you don't want to see how ruthless I can be," he threatened. "Surrender and come with us!"
"We won't join you!" Beau's voice thundered through the tense air, his eyes ablaze with determination as he channeled his power into the weapon he wielded.
Their adversaries, caught off guard by the sudden radiance of Beau's weapon, hastily conjured a protective shield spell. However, they underestimated the magnitude of Beau's unleashed power.
With a ferocious charge, he bore down upon them, his attack colliding with their shield in a cataclysmic explosion that reverberated through the silence, sending them sprawling several meters away.
"Run!" Beau's urgent command echoed, prompting the two to flee towards the shelter of the looming forest.
As they neared the refuge of the trees, a chilling incantation sliced through the air, heralding the arrival of a massive fireball hurtling towards them. The group skidded to a halt, forced to confront the imminent threat.
Three ominous figures materialized – the three who were on the front of their house.
"Don't even think of escaping if you value your lives!" cautioned the woman, her eyes blazing with the remnants of the fire spell.
Hebrew, alongside Beau, defiantly brandished their weapons, warning the adversaries not to approach.
"You killed one of my men!" bellowed the enraged man, his anger directed at Beau. A glance at the lifeless body confirmed it was the creator of the shield.
The weight of Beau's actions pressed heavily upon him. For the first time, he had wielded his weapon against a fellow being, inadvertently unleashing a devastating force. It was the first time he killed someone.
Aelia sensed Beau's turmoil and steadied him, gripping his hand to anchor him back to the present.
"Surrender now, while I still show restraint, kids. I'd rather not lose more of my men. Join us willingly, or someone will pay the price," the man warned, acknowledging the precarious situation.
Silence descended upon Beau and his companions, acknowledging the overwhelming odds. They grappled with the reality that a confrontation might result in irreparable losses.
Abruptly, serpentine vines erupted from the earth, snaking around their bodies with a vice-like grip. The man, reveling in his triumph, tightened the vines more, forcing them to relinquish their weapons.
"What kinds of weapons are these?" the man inquired, scrutinizing Beau's weapon.
"These weapons are treasures, unfit for the likes of you, Sandro!" Aelia defiantly retorted.
The man laughed mockingly at his servant's defiance. "Look at you. Just a few weeks of freedom, and you've become audacious."
The resounding slap of a hand against flesh echoed in the clearing. Beau, consumed by anger at the man's mistreatment of Aelia, shouted vehemently as he struggled against the unyielding vines.
"Don't fight, kid. You won't escape my vines," Sandro taunted. "My little cat got too bold and needs a lesson. Now that you're back in my possession, Aelia, you'll be the first of my many slaves to bear my child."
Malevolence dripped from Sandro's laughter as he noticed Beau's unwavering gaze. Undeterred, Beau spoke with unyielding determination, "I won't allow it. I won't let you take one of us. I won't allow it."
Sandro chuckled sinisterly, "And what will you do, kid? You're just a healer and a feeble beastman."
A fierce grin spread across Beau's face, "I'm not just a healer. And I'm not just a beastman. You have no idea." The intensity in Beau's eyes burned like an unquenchable fire, promising defiance in the face of adversity.
He could've just use spells to break free from the vines that chained him. However, his mana count have already been spent on crafting a while back. As having no choice, he turned to his last resort.
A collective gasp filled the air as Beau's voice echoed with an otherworldly resonance, and a radiant brilliance enveloped his entire being. The onlookers, including his bewildered friends, watched in awe as his form underwent a dazzling transformation.
In a cascade of ethereal light, Beau's wolf ears and tail gracefully faded away, replaced by the emergence of a magnificent silver-winged silhouette stretching from his back.
As the luminosity subsided, the spectators were met with a sight beyond their wildest imaginations. Beau stood before them, completely unburdened by any trace of his former beastman identity. His once obsidian hair now radiated a resplendent golden glow, reflecting the true essence of his nature.
What sent shivers down the spines of Sandro and his cohorts was not only the awe-inspiring wings of silver but the profound symbolism they carried – a testament to Beau's noble lineage, transcending the ordinary fairies.
Aelia and Hebrew, grappling with disbelief, were left to digest the revelation that their companion belonged to the revered fairy race, the epitome of mythical hierarchy. And not just a fairy, but a royalty.
