Now that Alyssa was dealt with, I felt like I could finally breathe a breath of fresh air. I couldn’t even believe that I had second-guessed my decision to get rid of her at some point, all because I had tasted her. I didn’t even want to imagine the type of distraction that I would have had to deal with had I changed my mind and ended up accepting her. Of course, I had Arianna under control, but the truth is that she would be a problem if I didn’t deliver on any of the promises that I had made to her. Admittedly, having him in my life was very risky because he had proven to be a loose cannon, but I knew how to control her.
