Serenity Pov
I knew nothing good could come from this but I can't interrupt them. Selene wanted so much. She wanted simple things. She wanted to be happy, in love, and have a family of her own. She wanted to be normal and live a life of her own not one that was predestined. I hope Auron isn't who she ends up with but still this moment. These small memories mean the world to her. Oh and he knows if he hurts her, I will hurt him ten folds. I ended up leaving them alone. I didn't have any friends here and no one really talked to me unless they had too. I kept up appearances as the mean cold sister because at least that way I could keep Selene safe.
"Hey, did you hear Moze and Auron are pranking Selene again," I heard two girls say. I knew I was a light walker and no one heard me coming until it was too late. As soon as the girls heard me they turned away and ran.
"That son of a-," I thought. I walked with a forceful stride back to Selene.
"AURON!" I SHOUTED as I used my water spirit to freeze him in place. Auron was an air spirit but he couldn't fight me even if he tried.
"Serenity," Selene said frightened.
"TELL HER OR I WILL USE MY FIRE SPIRIT NEXT," I threatened him.
"It was a joke. I just wanted to play with her. Your sister is so gullible," Auron said. Selene ran out of the room crying and I used my air spirit to send Auron flying across the room. I then ran after Selene.
"Why! WHY!," Selene shouted at me the minute I made it to our chambers. "Why did you do that."
"Selene, I know you're not really angry at me. I know you feel like this is your fault but it's not," I tried to reassure her but I knew she felt more embarrassed and hurt than angry. "You can tell me you hate me if you like."
"That won't make me feel better," Selene said. "I can't believe they are that mean."
"I can't believe you actually like him that much to let him kiss you," I teased. Selene laughed a little but then punched me in my arm. Suddenly, we heard an alarm go off. We were summoned by the spirit masters to explain what happened with Auron. Of course, they felt me use my spirit powers. We got a long lecture and were told we would be going home immediately. I was kind of happy but I know Selene was worried. They would have notified our mother about what happened.
"Don't worry Selene, I'll take care of it," I told my sister as she packed.
"No, it's my fault," she explained. "I'll tell mother and our fathers that it is my fault we came home early."
"Our fathers will be happy to see us and mother will understand. Don't worry," I told her. She gave me a big hug and as soon as we were done packing we headed to the ship that would take us home.
Selene was stressed the whole way there. I tried to calm her down not just for her sake but for mine too. The minute we saw our castle come into view we both calmed down and became ecstatic. I missed my mother and fathers. I was the first one to run outside and sure enough, my father Cloud was waiting for me. His thin smile was comforting. I ran into his arms and he swiftly picked me up and spun me around.
"Hello father," I said. He put me back on the ground and I saw my other father V coming towards us. He gave me a huge grin and gently nudged me.
"Trouble maker just like your father," he was talking about himself. He grabbed me and gave me a huge hug. "Good job kid." I guess he had heard of the incident that happened. Selene slowly made her way out of the ship. I knew she was worried to be yelled at but our fathers could never be tough on her. She still wanted to be a good daughter and make them proud and never let them down.
"My little girl," V said as he went to pat Selene on the head.
"I missed you," Selene said to him.
"I missed you too," V replied embracing her with a big hug. V and Cloud both sighed and looked at us with concern.
"Your mother is waiting," they said together.
"Our mother or the king," I joked. They both gently nudged me and pulled me into the castle. We were making jokes and catching up until we made our way to the throne room. My mother sat on her throne looking very royal and annoyed.
"Serenity, using your powers to hurt another without cause," my mother began to lecture me as soon as she saw me.
"Mother, I had cause. I had a very good cause," I said subtly gesturing at Selene.
"The spirits granted you a gift to use wisely not to misuse or abuse. What? Do you want to become a dark spirit holder?" My mother's accusation hurt me. A dark spirit holder is someone who had used their powers to hurt innocent people or stolen them from someone by killing them. I can't deny that sometimes I had no use for emotions that I found myself thinking I could be a dark spirit holder if I chose to. I had love for my family but other than that I did not care for anyone else. What if their love was the only thing keeping me from becoming a dark spirit holder. Would I really want to use my powers to hurt others with no just cause?
"Selene," my mother called. Selene walked up to my mother. "How is your training going?" Selene didn't want to answer. She looked around and then made eye contact with our mother again.
"It's fine," she said softly.
"Any progress," she asked.
"Um, yeah, I think maybe I can, one day," Selene was lost for words.
"Mother, Selene is doing great. We all expect her to show signs of a spirit power real soon," I said confidently. Our mother smiled and Selene tried to do the same.
"I'm going to go to my chambers," Selene said tearfully.
"Okay dear," our mother said. "Serenity we have much more to discuss."
