**Jade POV**
Elliott gasped before letting out a soft growl. I liked that sound. I wanted more. Grasping his massive d**k gently in one hand, I put my mouth around the tip and stroked at the same time. I’d never done this before, I was hoping I could let him feel the way he made me feel. “Move your mouth up and down with your hand,” Elliott instructed and I did as he said, grateful for the direction without having to ask myself. “f**k, Jade!” He said a bit louder and I knew I was on to something. I decided to lick my way from the bottom of his shaft all the way back up to the tip of his manhood. If I thought Elliott smelled good, he tasted even better. I couldn’t get enough of him, couldn’t satisfy myself until I’d tasted all of him. I went back to stroking his d**k as I sucked on the tip, making circles with my tongue the way he had. A low moan escaped his lips and I knew I was getting him close to the high I’d just experienced.
I began to move my head up and down faster as I stroked in the same rhythm. I felt Elliott grabbing the sheets underneath him and triumphantly moved just a little bit faster. “f**k, I’m gonna cum.” Elliott said with an almost puzzled tone. I moaned with my mouth still on his d**k and felt juices shooting out of the tip. I swallowed everything he gave me and licked the juices off of him like he did for me, egged on by the low growl emanating from my mate’s chest. Such a sultry sound, I found myself wishing we could stay like this forever. I never wanted to leave this room again if I could help it.
Elliott gently pulled me up and wrapped his arms around me. “That was so good, baby. I’ve never c*m like that before.”
“Really?” I asked, blushing.
“Really.” He said with a small smile. “Have you done that before?” He said, looking only slightly interested but I could tell he was hoping I’d say no and he didn’t want to seem judgmental. I’d seen a few mateships nearly end over an unfavorable reaction to the other person’s body count, so I knew he was trying to avoid some sort of fight. Personally, I thought it was oddly sweet that he appeared to be so worried about what my answer would be.
“No.” I confessed simply. “Have you?”
“Well, yes,” Elliott said hesitantly and I felt a pang of sadness that he’d had this experience with someone else. I now knew why I’d seen so many mates struggle through a revelation like this. “But I’ve never found someone so unbelievably sexy in all my life. That was like nothing I’ve ever experience before, Jade. NOTHING.” He held me closer, kissing my forehead tenderly and I couldn’t help the smile that took over my face before I fell asleep on his chest.
**Emma POV**
Running with my wolf was amazing, even if it was slightly cut short! I’d always heard the other omegas talking about how freeing it would feel, but I guess you never fully get it until you experience it. I’d shifted back and gotten dressed with Cleo and Vera while William and Jasper took Cameron to the lake to try and get him to come to his senses. I’d dealt with females in heat before when the ranked members would lock themselves in a room for days with their mates and refuse to come out even to eat, so we’d have to drop food off at their door multiple times a day. I was so happy for Jade that she found her mate, but I was a little worried she’d be MIA for a few days and I’d be all on my own in a brand new pack.
At least Cleo had showed me how to use my TV, and turned on a nice movie for me. I didn’t know what it was called, but it had a man and a woman kissing on it. I sighed, hopefully I’d find my mate sooner rather than later. I hit the “pause” button Cleo had showed me and decided I’d give my new giant bath tub a try to distract myself from my own loneliness and worrying about Jade.
I started the water and added some of the salts and bubbles Cleo had showed me, excited out of my mind to give this baby a try. I quickly stripped out of my clothes and slipped in the tub. As I began to sit back, I felt like I was being transported somewhere else.
I saw the image of a dining room table with a woman and a little girl. “Emma, darling. Please don’t play with your food. I’ll send you to bed early if you don’t eat like a lady.”
“Oh what have you got against her?” A tall handsome man strode in, planting a kiss on the beautiful woman’s cheek and winking.
The woman glared jokingly at the man. “I don’t know who’s more of a child, you or her!” She yelled in mock frustration.
“Always me! At least Emma is civilized enough to not have ice cream for dinner with the alpha before she came home.” I recognized my name, but none of the people in my vision. Was the little girl supposed to be me?
“Rowan Patterson, YOU DID NOT!” The woman looked as if she was fighting a laugh, but it was a losing battle. The little girl giggled along with her…. Mother?
“Emma, tell mommy it’s good to let your hair down a bit!” The man joked while unknowingly confirming my suspicion. What an odd dream I was having.
“But daddy, my hair is already down!” The little girl—Emma— said, confused.
“Well, there ya have it, Sarah.” The man said triumphantly.
“The pair of you are exhausting.” The mother sighed in fake exasperation. “Emma, if you at least eat your chicken and her mom said it’s okay, I’ll let you have a sleepover with—“
Before the woman could finish her sentence, there was a sound of sirens and distant screams. “Take Emma and run!” The man growled ferociously and the woman didn’t hesitate. She grabbed the little girl up in her arms and took off in the opposite direction of the screams. They ran down a long, dark blue hallway before reaching an exit and sprinting toward a snow covered tree line. It was strange, I felt like I could literally feel the wind whipping against my face and the flush coming to my cheeks, seemingly in a desperate attempt to warm them. I felt as though I was trudging through the deep, powdery snow alongside them.
Screams began to fill the pack house behind them, followed by shouts that sounded like orders. The woman suddenly stopped running and fell to the cold ground, barely rolling over in time to fall on her back so the little girl fell on top of her. She groaned and began to sob. “He’s gone! My mate!” She cried, the air so cold you could see her breath.
“Mommy?!” The little girl cried, looking shaken and terrified. “Daddy’s not really gone, is he?! Mommy?! Is he?!” She seemed to be trying to shake her mommy out of a panic.
The shouts began to grow closer. “They can’t have gone far! Search the woods, no doubt she took off with the girl to try and get her to their allies over those mountains! We need to cut her off before she gets there!”
The woman seemed to snap out of it then and there. She jerked her head up and rose amazingly quickly, leading her violently shivering daughter by the hand through more trees for a few more minutes before reaching an abandoned looking shack. She opened the door amazingly easily, like the shack was maybe designed to look more run down than it actually was? The woman shut herself and the little girl inside and knelt down to her little girl’s eye level.
“Emma, I want you to know how much your daddy and I love you,” she said, wiping a tear from the little girl’s cheek. “I’m going to have to hide you. I need you to stay inside no matter what you may hear, and someone will come and get you soon. They’ll know where you are. Do NOT come out if someone calls you, the people who will help you will already know exactly how to find you.”
“But I want to stay with you!” The little girl began to sob. I felt sad for her. More than sad, I felt almost…. Devastated.
“Shhh, I want you to stay with me too sweet girl. You have no idea how much I want you to be right next to me.” The woman hugged her daughter tightly, tears silently rolling down her face as well. “I need you to be the bravest girl ever. I need you to be the courageous little warrior I know you are. I need you to do as I say, okay?” She seemed to muster a small smile and the little girl nodded with tears streaming down her cheeks. She took in a ragged breath before saying a small, hushed “yes ma’am”.
“I love you, Emma. I love you so much.” The mother cried into her daughter’s hair, planting a kiss on the top of her head.
“I love you, mommy.” The little girl whimpered.
The woman lifted a hatch in the floor. “Now, I need you to stay down here. Okay?” She said and the little girl nodded. The woman noiselessly lowered the hatch and pushed a large stained rug and broken chair over it before leaving the shed, shutting the door behind her as quietly as possible.
The little girl curled into a ball, hearing snarls and howls not far off and just knowing she’d never be seeing her mommy again. She sobbed silently, tears raining down her face as she did her best to be a brave, quiet girl like mommy asked.
“She couldn’t have gotten her over that mountain and into the neighboring pack in that amount of time! The girl has to be here somewhere! Fan out, and FIND THAT CHILD!” A man’s booming voice barked out. The little girl heard the furious pounding of paws against the cold ground and yelling all around her—people in and out of wolf form. She was absolutely certain she’d be found any moment. She hugged her knees to her chest, shivering and terrified.
I opened my eyes, shocked to find myself violently shivering in lukewarm bath water. How long had I been sitting here? What had just happened? Was that ME? Was that my family? That’s impossible. That would be the exact opposite of what I was told happened to my parents.
