The world is changing as the days rush by. The fear, darkness and panic that lies deep in our hearts is slowly dissipating. People who have suffered are finding their place within the walls of the college, daring to show their tortured faces and souls.

The name that represents death and pain is still in Amelia's mind, her gaze does not leave the dark shadows. Thoughts are still running through her mind - Is it true? When? Where?

The darkness still exists, the strongest leaders know and hide the truth. The battle that has been fought is only warming – up, now, they are preparing for war.

Light Crown Tournament is a friendly competition between supernatural beings with a secret hidden behind it all.

Chapter 1 ( Time )
( Amelia POV ) Outside the window, the sun is blaring behind the clouds. The weather is still warm, even though it's August. The year has passed incredibly quickly before my eyes, and one name has not disappeared from my mind - Lorenzo. No clues, k********g or attacks occurred after all this time. I’ve nearly convinced myself that this is just a silly memory and that life is moving on. Barewood College has changed in so much time. The members of the association have decided to split up after the dark period subsided, still maintaining close ties with each other. Several other colleges have sprung up around the area, dedicated exclusively to supernatural beings. Each Friend, former member, has taken on the responsibility of managing a new college, guiding lost young people unsure of their path towards their life's purpose. Madeline founded a witch college - Flash of Light. All the witches left the confines of Barewood College to find a new refuge and home amongst their race. A chance to interact with young witches, gain experience and learn new things. I am proud of this young woman, it takes a lot of courage to take on such a responsibility. Blake and Leah founded their own college - Gold Wing. Taking all the dragons that once lived on the grounds of Barewood College. Even Diego was happy to get his tail out of the way. This is a new home for winged animals. Young, old, small and large. Leah has taken the headmistress's chair, as it was meant to be. Blake sits in the vice-headmistress's chair, annoying his daughter with his repartee. Eliana has named her college - Velvet Song. According to the latest news I have heard, thirty new sirens have joined the college. Those who had been in hiding finally had the courage to come out and show their power and skills. To focus it in the right direction and not feel alone. This woman is getting better at taming ambitious and hard-headed young people. Jasper was probably the first to flee Barewood when peace finally came our way. He founded a college called White Fang. It's a place for vampires to learn the correct feeding process. Not to kill humans and to refrain from bloodlust in public places. I am proud of this college, even though the human death rate is higher in these places than in others. Well, he is trying. Issac stayed at Barewood College, abolishing admissions. Only the werewolves who now own the surrounding woods and fields remain. Wind in the fur and ears erect ruling this hamlet. Students flock to learn how to control their anger, to fight or to meet new werewolves in the hope of finding their other half. Each of these colleges is enchanted by Madeline, so that no one around them has any questions or prying ears to listen in. It's a great idea that allows each college to show off its own strengths and powers without having to worry about a visit from the police or a call from the inspectors. The school year has started much earlier than usual, as most young people want to immerse themselves in the lore and quirks of their race. On this occasion, the former members of the Association decided to organise a friendly competition between the five races. For the inaugural year, it was decided to hold the competition at Barewood College as a mark of respect for the fact that this school has been the home and refuge of the different races for so long. A loud tapping of the door and all thoughts were dispelled, a curious glance was turned towards the person who had disturbed the morning peace. Golden eyes looked straight at me and the smell of cut grass suddenly touched my nose. Of course, that's the only person who can bother me - Issac. "Are you ready yet?" Issac’s soft voice drifted through the quiet bedroom. "Time to go?" A few lines creased his forehead and the corner of his lips turned up. "Yes, you don't want to be late for your first official meeting." Issac walked slowly towards me. My gaze slid down Isaac’s black suit and paused at his red tie. These clothes concealed a firm, trim body that belongs only to me. I lifted my legs off the bed, and silently pushed myself into a sitting position. A few steps later, Issac was standing in front of me, a strange smile playing on his face, that didn't mean anything good. In one gentle movement Isaac pushed me back onto the bed pressing me under his firm body. "Issac, what are you doing? We'll be late." His face was beaming with a wide smile and his chest was almost bursting with laughter. Issac’s lips found mine, a second later, his strong arms held me tightly against the bed, hands above my head. Through my thin red dress, I could feel his firm body pulsing with heat and desire. His plump lips left mine to travel up to my neck and I turned my head to the side giving him easier access. "Five minutes." Issac's low growl rang right in my ears. "We know this adventure will take longer than five minutes." A golden glint came into Issac's calm face. "Yes, you are right. With this dress, you are a threat to me." Issac sighed as he let go of my hands. "This is the dress you chose." I rolled my eyes and smiled broadly. "We'll continue this scene after the meeting." Issac winked and then his lips found mine for a moment. My broad smile broke the kiss and my hand gently touched Issac's chest, pushing him away from me. Issac climbed off me, held out his hand, offering his help to get off the bed. My hand fit perfectly in Issac's palm. Then with one faint tug, I was in his strong embrace. The masculine cologne touched my nose and made my forehead crease. It's not really a pleasant smell, cut grass and jasmine are much better. My fingers sank lightly into Issac's palm, and then we walked side by side towards the bedroom exit. It was a narrow corridor, with sunlight streaming through the balcony door. Exactly twenty-five steps leading to the first floor, there my uncomfortable black high heels graced my feet. Issac opened the door holding out my black jacket towards me to cover my bare shoulders. Yeah, I probably wouldn't have forgotten that. The soft material touched my skin, high heels clacking on the wooden tiles of the terrace. A warm breeze blew in, lightly teasing my loose blonde hair in the air. As my foot touched the terrace steps Issac's hand was at my side, probably wanting to make sure I didn't twist a leg climbing down. Five steps and Issac opened the car door seamlessly. "Please make yourself comfortable Amelia Black." Issac's eyes shone as he looked at my face. "Issac, we're not married yet. Your name is not officially mine." The corner of my lips turned up, and I took my place on the leather seat. "You know very well that the wedding is only a few months away. Time to get used to it." Issac winked and then the door closed. Time flies damn fast. In exactly three days, not only werewolves but other supernatural beings will be living in this town. Five students and their individual principals from each college are invited. The friendly competition is around the corner with so much to do and still decide. But, there is a time for everything, which is why this important meeting is taking place. This will ensure a smooth event will take place in just a few days' time. The engine started quietly and Issac's worried look came into view. I turned my golden gaze towards him and my hand ran through his messy black hair. Issac is worried about my new responsibilities and how I will be received by those around me. I am sure there is nothing to worry about. The teachers at Barewood College know me well and the students will have to get used to it. "Are you worried?" Issac's gaze returned to the narrow, winding forest path. "I'm the strongest being on earth. Why should I worry about anything?" The corner of my lips lifted. "Lo-" The first letters of the name slipped past Issac's lips. "No, no. We don't use that name. It's been eight months and there's no sign of anything. We'll start worrying when it comes." I held up one finger in a serious glare towards Issac. "Great. I promised Lucian we'd drop by after the meeting.” Issac sighed, and the steering wheel slowly turned to the left. "Brook called me this morning. Asked if I could look after Sheila for a few hours. Of course I agreed, you don't mind, right?" His eyebrow rose, and a broad smile immediately lit up his face. Sheila is Brook and Lucian's daughter who was born a month ago. A gorgeous soft pink, cuddly baby. My best friend's pregnancy is the most miraculous thing that could have happened to me. I don't want to know what went on in the labour ward, but it's good to know that they are both healthy. Those big shining brown eyes that look at me every time make my heart jump with joy. I can't wait for the moment when she becomes a real werewolf and we can both run around the fields. Sheila will need to be taught so many new things. Ah, that milk smelling little creature. "Of course. I'll pick you up in a few hours. I have to discuss the upcoming match with Sawyer and Quin." Issac turned the steering wheel to the left, and then the car pulled into the parking lot. "Are you sure we can fit everyone in the woods?" My fingers hooked the handle of the door, and then I slid it open easily. A curious glance went towards Issac who slammed the door and then locked the car. I got into Issac's armrest, and five steps down the narrow lane, his calm voice was in the air. "Quin will make sure we all fit in. We still have a student village with houses available. We've reduced the number of participants from ten to five, not including the headmaster and vice-headmaster of course." The corner of Issac's lips lifted, and his blue eyes darted towards the white-walled college. So many steps taken past these wide glass doors through the bright main corridor, it seems so long ago. Warm memories flooded my chest of such a unique and unforgettable day spent within the walls of this college. It is good to remember those carefree days spent on the benches or in the woods. Soon the stairs were creaking under my feet and a long corridor leading straight to Issac's office appeared before my eyes. I nodded my head as it opened wide in mute thanks, my gaze landed on the three people sitting on the sofa to my left. Faces of people who will probably never leave my memory. Their sparkling eyes betrayed nothing but surprise and their smiles beaming in happiness. They now occupy very important positions in this college. Quin is one of the chief martial technicians and trainer. Although her stern voice still makes the hair on my arms stand on end, I know that she has a big and noble heart beating in her chest. Sawyer can track werewolves and other supernatural creatures perfectly. By their footprints, scent or other small details. How do I hunt a vampire? Where to find a dragon? That's just a joke, though a lot of experience among other supernatural beings has probably been a plus. Lucian - is in charge of the freshmen, introducing them to the college and the basic rules. Often in charge of various events, extra places, houses and other small nuances. "Sawyer?" Issac's stern golden gaze shifted to his brother, who held a champagne glass in his hand. "It's good to see you Amelia." Quin's white-toothed smile glittered on her face. I understand Issac's unhappy tone. Sawyer held the champagne bottle in his hand and his dark eyes went to his brother. Of course, meetings are a little different now then they used to be. Each of us can relax more now the darkness doesn't hide in the shadows. Life has become really fun and full of surprises. Of course, this time in a good way. "I'm celebrating, don't you see?" Sawyer dipped his gaze, squinting at me. "Come on, let's cut to the chase. Have you all had a chance to think about the tournament coming up?" Issac leaned against his desk. "I'm just wondering, there will be five participants taking part, but none of them will be able to transform into their true selves?" Quin's forehead furrowed into a few lines, and her brown eyes shifted to Issac. "Each of them has incredible powers, even in human form. All of them will compete against each other in a friendly competition. If we want to support young people getting along with each other regardless of their abilities and quirks, we need to encourage this from a young age. The next tournament will be held at the college that wins first place and takes home the crown." Issac looked at the three people sitting on the sofa in front of him. "The prize?" Lucian's forehead furrowed into a few lines. "My diadem, but it can also be a crown as far as the male winner is concerned,” I said proudly. It's just a glitter, but it symbolises that peace has won. I will donate this Goddess accessory, it will be a great trophy for the chosen ones to compete for." I ran my hand through my maiden's hair, taking the shining diadem from it. It first appeared in my hands when I touched the scepter, but it has no special powers. Stories, legends and tales of the Chosen One who conquered the darkness circulate among the young representatives and disciples. Although I walk among them, I am only a werewolf in their eyes. The others have not seen me at all. My true identity is not revealed to everyone. I do not want the publicity, persecution or a million questions coming my way. All this for the sake of sacred peace. "How are we going to select five participants, when five people from each race will be here?" Sawyer put his glass down on the coffee table crossing his arms over his chest. "Madeline will take care of that. She'll set up a glass ball on the second floor of the college with the names of the volunteers thrown in. At the end of the time, the draw will throw out five candidates from each category and they will be our nominees for the competition." Issac put his hand on my waist and pulled me closer. "We have task?" I looked at the teachers sitting comfortably on the sofa. "Three more days, why are you in such a hurry?" Lucian raised his eyebrows and a small smile played on his lips. "Of course, each of the participants will draw a werewolf colour and each colour will correspond to a werewolf from our gang. The person who defeats the werewolf the fastest will be the winner of the event." Quin rolled his eyes, then smiled broadly. "Issac?" My confused gaze shifted to the guy standing next to me. "Doesn't that seem unfair? Werewolves know each other's weaknesses." A few lines etched themselves into Issac's forehead. "Yeah, maybe you're right. But have you seen what a werewolf standing in front of you looks like? Each of the participants will have to use not only their fighting skills, but also their wits. I don't think you have much of a chance in beating a three-metre wolf standing in front of you, let alone the indescribable strength." Quin lifted her chin as if proud of her answer. Quin was right that only sirens and witches, who don't need close combat, find it easier to defeat werewolves. But dragons, werewolves and vampires will have to work hard for this victory. Is it fair? What are the rules for this competition and tournament?. "What are the limits? Maximum injuries?" I raised my eyebrows, and my gaze went to Quin. "A fight without rules, this is a tournament. Let the best, the brightest and the strongest take the cake. We can't limit the action. It might block their brains." Quin shrugged. This is the fairest option. We must not limit the minds and possibilities of these young people. But what good will it do if one of them dies? We will lose not only a good name, but also a part of ourselves. Is this an acceptable option? Although this is a friendly tournament, there is a much deeper message behind all this. Every former member of the Association wants to select the strongest representatives of their species. Their real journey and purpose is still ahead of them. It’s as if we are amassing an invisible army, for the day Lorenzo will come back. It is the least we can do, to hope that our presence on earth is enough to contain the darkness. "The rules will be but minimal. Each rule will be spoken aloud and weighed. Participants will be allowed to withdraw from the event, but will lose points in the process. We cannot graze them like a flock of sheep. They have to think with their heads." Issac's serious look turned towards Quin. "Is this meeting over yet? We all know the details and are waiting for the guests." Sawyer crossed his legs on the table. "Sawyer get your damn feet off the table or you'll fly out the window." A low growl came from Issac's chest. Sawyer put his feet up and the champagne glass was back in his hands. Issac is really under a lot of pressure and responsibility for such a big tournament. Not to mention the new werewolves who flock to college from the ends of the earth to find their forever home and refuge. More than one pack has joined in, bowing to Alpha Issac and handing over their titles to him. Soon this town will be more werewolf than human. "Lucian, see that the college is properly prepared in three days. I want the second floor to resemble a large hall. The main meetings, lunches and other meetings of the participants will take place there. All the werewolves will move to the campus, and we will house the new participants in the woods. We will divide the necessary groups, set up the huts and draw firm boundaries." Issac's toe curve must be fulfilled. "I will gather five volunteers from the elders who have the best fighting skills. These will be our main participants in the task, there will be blood and broken bones, I guarantee it." Quin dipped an eye. "Sawyer stop sucking on the champagne, what's the occasion?" Issac's deadly glare went towards his brother. "I thought you'd never ask again." Sawyer smiled, shaking his head from side to side. " So what's the cause of alcoholism during the middle of the day?" Lucian's inquisitive gaze drifted towards Sawyer. "I found my mate." The unexpected words left Sawyer's lips.
