The city streets rush past the car window. Sawyer sat quietly on the left, reading something intently on his phone. My thoughts wandered. Was it a good deed to leave college? I’ve dedicated years of my life to this institution and building, and now I just have to turn my back and leave. All my childhood, teenager years and much more. Tears of betrayal gathered in the corners of my eyes. I hold them, not wanting to look weak and sentimental. Time to look at slightly bettering things, one week to go before the white wedding. A town sign flew past the windscreen, soon a tight left turn and a path leading to my home.
“Do you think this is a good idea?” Sawyer’s calm voice shattered my rambunctious thoughts.
