Chapter Nineteen

The gala event is finally here. I am such a nervous wrack for no reason today. Maybe I am scared of all the new faces that will be there. I finally got to know that this event is hosted every year by Lawyers so they challenge each other into seeing who will host the best one and which well known advocate or judge will be there. So Mr Williams already scored the highest. The way I am nervous I even woke up early. I am just in bed with a book. A knock comes through the door

"Good morning aunty. I made you tea" Ammy says walking in and putting the tray on the side table

"Ncoo thank you my love so thoughtful of you. Come hop in so we can hang up before the minions wake" I say and she climbs to the bed

"Are you excited about today" she asks.

"I am actually nervous. You know how sometimes you wonder how people will react when they see you with a celebrity? Well that's me. My boss is known and 2015 he made to Forbes under 30 so you can just imagine" I say.

"But I know you'll be looking beautiful. You always do so they'll be just focusing on your beauty" she says

"Aww my love thank you. When are schools opening again?" I ask

"You are already chasing us out. Unfortunately we are stuck with you till next week" she says and I laugh

"You know I'll never do that. Y'all are my favourites" I say and she smiles

"Can I ask you something and please don't overreact or tell mom cause I know you can't keep a secret" she says. I gasps

"Child are you saying I am that much of a spiller huh?" I ask and she laughs

"No but you always talk with mom so I don't want you talking with her regarding. Any advice you give me I'll take it" she says. Oh here comes trouble

"Okay then I'm all ears and promise not to talk to mom" I say and she makes me do pinky swear. I better keep this one to myself!

"So there's this guy at our hood. His doing doing his first year at in university. I like him but the thing is I feel like he is experienced in a lot of things like life and s*x and there's me virgin marry like my friends call me" I laugh to her rolling eyes, she's aunty daughter...."well he hasn't pestered me about the deed but one day he will obviously and also I am scared what if he has a girlfriend at res" she says. Poor baby is in love

"So let me get this straight you said you love this boy?" I ask

"No aunty. I like him cause I don't know what love feels like but when am with him I smile all day and he makes me happy. The day he kissed me" she closes her eyes blushing. .... "as I was still i felt like there was something in my tummy." She says.

"Okay ma baby but I think you actually love him. The way he makes you feel is love but concerning your fears I don't think you'll be able to know that. You need to ask him about his life at res and also if you not ready for s*x tell actually you are still young for s*x just tell him till you are 21" she laughs... "what were you looking forward to sleep with him" I ask

"No no I was not even 21 is early he still needs to put a ring on it." She says. Wow an entire 17 year old

We continue talking about here and the friends and how they normally mock her virginity status but I advice her not to succumb to their mocking. I need to go prepare breakfast for the minions and also help Tracey with other things. She's going to make my make up she's a pro and I am still to understand why she isn't having her beauty salon. I clean the kitchen and lounge then change my bedsheets and throw them in the machine. I was going to do them tomorrow but since I have time why not? My dad calls as I am busy

"Dad" I answer

"Daddys how are you?" he asks

"I am good dad how are you" I ask continue with what I was doing.

"I am good. We would like to have the young ones for picnic at the Zoo" my dad says

"Oh you don't need me?" I ask and he laughs

"You are old now. We will bring them back Sunday" Dad says. So they are booking in. Nice

"Alryt daddy I am sure I'll be dead by the time am done breaking the news to them" I say yoh these kids can squeal in excitement.

We talk for sometime with dad and ask each other about work and life. I cannot miss the happiness in dad's voice and I am happy. It means a lot. I wonder how far they are with leads to finding Wendy. After I am done with cleaning I take the mat and go lay it outside under the car port. We are going to eat outside, plus Tracey will be doing my nails. I prepare breakfast then call them to help me take it out. Good cause they washed their faces, brushed teeth and comb their hair

"Grandpa will be here tomorrow to fetch y'all to the zoo" I say. The little ones scream

"Finally we get to do with grandpa" they say

They stay far frome everyone so they don't get a chance to be with grandpa like the two. The girls are just okay with the idea but not squealing like the two ninjas. We eat and as soon as I am done Tracey starts with the nails. I am just putting short ones, they are oxblood in colour and matte but I want her to put gloss gel.

I am now done bathing and heading to the mall. I am wearing olive track set and all stars. I am going to collect my weave. I am not even worried if it's last minute or not. I have other options incase I don't like it or if it doesn't match my outfit. I miss my friends we need some get together sometime next month plus there's a holiday in between and bonus it's my birth month.

"Thank you very much" I say to the lady handing me my parcel.

I am glad I am not driving to the event. Travis said he'll fetch me so I am super glad. Also I am tired I have been yawning like someone who didn't sleep. Maybe my mind didn't. I buy things that have ran out in the house and head back. I am woken up by Tracey. I check the time it's half past four meaning I have to get ready. I feel refreshed thanks to the power nap.

"Are you up? Is it safe to leave?" Tracey ask and I laugh. That's how she wakes Cecilia. You don't leave that child after waking her up. You have to make sure she's on her feet

"It's safe I'll just go bath cause I need to shave also" I say and head to my bathroom.

When I come back I fix my bed and start moisturising my body I take out my outfit and lay it on the bed. I will be wearing red oblique collar sleeveless floor-length mermaid dress. It shows a bit of my cleavage as it has a cut. I'll top it with black with red pump pointy heals, black with gold clutch bag and gold strip long earrings. Time flies. It's twenty past five already. I call Tracey to come do me make up already.

"Wow if you were my mom you we're definitely not going out" Ammy says walking in

"That beautiful huh?" I ask

"You have no idea. You look super gorgeous. I wonder when you are done dressing up how will you be looking like" she says

I stand as Tracey is done. I need to see myself first. Damn girl. This girl pampered my face and still maintained the natural that I want. My eyebrows are well done and the touch of red on my eyeshadows is lit. It's more like she added a bit of black to darken it. My lips are in a colour similar to my nails. I look beautiful. Okay let me dress up. My phone rings

"I hope you are done I am on my way to you" he says.

"No hello and how I am what if I was bed sick or no longer going?" I ask and he chuckles over the phone

"How far are you with being done my love" he asks. I think this guy knows how wet I get when he calls me that

"I am just putting on the dress I'll be done" I answer.

"Okay I'll be there in 15 minutes" he says and hang up.

I check the time time and it's five past six. I hop in the dress and oh lala aren't I a fine art today. I sit on the bed and put on my heels then put on some perfume then earrings. I am in the curly weave I fetched, it's not that curly just tangled. I take my card and throw it in the clutch and head to the lounge

"Mama" Cecilia says with her hands on her mouth "you look beautiful" she adds. I smile and they all start complementing me

"Thank you babies. Please behave I know you always behave but today I am coming late so don't bother Tracey okay." I say and they all agree

A knock comes in the door and Chris rushes to open. no one can keep up with his enthusiasm. He comes back with a very hot Travis and they are having a mini convo. He is holding a bouquet of tulips, my other favourites when it comes to flowers. He is looking so hot. He is wearing black 3 piece suit with double breasted vest, white a shirt and black tie. His shoes are shiny black. He is such a snack right now.

"This are for you. Thank you for accompanying me" he hands me the vase I thank him and put it on the table

"You look beautiful Talitha" he says. The kids are just here looking at us

"Thank you. You look handsome yourself" I say

"Shall we" he asks and I agree Chris rushes to open the door for us and walk out

"Whhhaaaaaaat!!!!!! a G-Class" Chris says

I don't get what's the fuss until my eyes land on the machine in front of us. Did he buy a new car. Wow it looks new. It's number plate is personalised Patton 1. I am frozen where I am. He puts his hand on my back and leads us to walk. He opens the door for me and I hop in. It's not new but where has it been. I have never seen him in it.

"You look breathtaking once again" he says after closing the door

I thank him and question him about the car and he says it was at his mom's place cause he once went with it but came back with a flight. So all in all he has 4 cars. Two are from Mercedes, the other one is from VW his adrenaline car as he calls it and then there's the ranger. Nice life problems. We drive to the the event and 30 minutes later we drive in the house. Apparently about 30 people are expected. Not bad.
