My Mystery Mate

Chapter 5

As I pull up to the track I see a car standing alone in the car park which is unusual I'm usually the only one here. I quickly change into training gear and get myself warmed up. I start with some sprints when I see someone emerge onto the track. It's my coach, what is he doing here? He's only ever here during training.

"My my Isla aren't you a sight for saw eyes" he says with a creepy grin on his face as he runs his hand over his already slicked back hair.

"Hey, I'm just getting in a little practice" I say trying to be polite, Melody on the other hand is not in the mood for being polite.

“Great idea I was watching you the other day and I was hoping I could give you some pointers”. He says still grinning at me.

“Umm, yeah I guess'’ I say rather confused, not about him watching me. He doesn't do that all the time but pointers he always says I'm flawless when I run.

I wait to see what he is going to say but nothing so I jog off the the starting blocks ready to continue my training when i feel him coming closer to me I stand at the block not prepared to lean down in front of him as he is the biggest creep I have come across. I wait for him to move away but he only moves closer I can feel my whole body tense. He places a hand on my hip as he comes in right behind me. I stumble away to get his hand off me. I suddenly feel cold and clammy I don’t want him near me. He’s not my mate he shouldn't be touching me at all.

“What's the matter Isla?'' he says, continuing to stalk towards me.

“Get away from me, don’t touch me!” I say, batting his hand away as he reaches out to touch my face.

“Come now Isla Isla don't be like this. I came to spend time with you away from the other girls. I see how they look at you knowing you are a better athlete”. He says while still walking towards me he has me backed up to a fence I know I could jump and clear it in my wolf but I can't let my secret out. He continues as he places both hands on the fence either side of my shoulders he leans in and whispers “You know you want it I've been waiting to get you alone”.

“Get away from me!” Melody bursts through taking control. Just as melody is ready to kick him in the sensitive area between his legs he is pulled off me by a tall dark haired stranger. I only see the back of him.

“You heard the lady step away,'' he says in a dominating tone. I can't get a read on him, there is something familiar but I don't know what it is.

“What are you going to do about it? You don't know anything about us. Tell him Isla”. I stand there not saying a word the stranger takes him by the collar and drags him away. Without a word I sprint to get my clothes from the locker room and get to my car I speed out of the carpark for home. I couldn't help but think back to the gorgeous man who helped me. Who was he? Why did he help me? Just thinking of him set off a feeling of sparks inside me. “Mate” Melody blurs out jumping around, “Mate helped us”.

But it cant have been I'm blocking my scent he wouldn't be able to help me.

Nicholas pov

I arrive at the track and 2 cars are parked there. I climb out of my car and watch her train. I get a call and take it. It's a call from my delta back home with updates on our business merger. I look back to the track and see this low life getting closer to my mate who the hell does he think he is. Caesar my wolf “he has his hand on her! I'm going to rip that hand off if he does it again”. With that I hop the fence and start to run towards her. I see her backed up to the fence and him giving her unwanted attention without thinking Caesar has taken control and ripped him off her. “You heard the lady step away” I say in my dominating tone. I have my back to her but I can feel the fireworks across my skin as she watches me. I'm snapped back into focus when I hear.

“What are you going to do about it? You don't know anything about us. Tell him Isla”. She stands there not saying a word. I feel conflicted. Does she do this a lot? Does she let other men touch her? She is mine. I take the lowlife by the collar and drags him away. Once I have gotten rid of him I return to check on my mate but she is gone her scent is blocked I can't track her. One this is for sure it was the girl I saw in town earlier today.
