I. The Princess of Elvaria
A painful moan escaped from Aizu's lips as she struggled to aim towards the menace that was wrecking havoc to her kingdom. She was the current queen of the kingdom of Elvaria after her parents got assassinated. It wasn't long after the crown got passed on since the kingdom needed guidance from the monarchy. The monster growled, it was a chimera. It opened it's mouth and a ball of fire started to form, slowly.. the lion started to gather the energy until it was large enough. The Chimera then threw the ball of fire towards Aizu in which she barely dodged it making her clothing get scorched in the process. One might wonder how it ended up here but it all started one morning.. "Mistress, we had a call from the guards that your parents have died while they were being transported to Lothearrarith. Their carriage was ambushed by an unknown group but the royal guards are on a search for them right as we speak" The entrusted right hand of Aizu's father bowed down as after he told those devastating words that who would've thought would change her life forever. A small sigh escaped her lips as she dismissed him, he shot her a look of empathy before leaving the bedroom. Cold, Worry & Fear. Those were the things that she could feel. What else could she do? One morning after Aizu woke up she suddenly lost her parents, the king and queen, it is only right thing that she would be crowned as the new queen or else the kingdom might fall. Aizu's parents mentioned her brother when they were still alive but who knows what happened to him after he disappeared one day. It was a shame at why he left like that, Aizu had always admired him too. "What to do.." she muttered as she stand up and sit by her study table by the window. Aizu decided to write a magic note to her childhood friend, Azusa. It read : To : Azusa Hey, are you free? If so, would you accompany me for the whole day today? If you don't mind of course. Meet me by the square by 10:00am sharp. I need some guidance again and we have something urgent and important to discuss about. From : Aizu Aizu signed the note before folding it. The paper then folded itself into a butterfly and fluttered out your window, leaving sparkles as it do. Those were how magic notes do, there aren't any gadgets in her kingdom, Elvaria. The only communication they have are the magic notes and of course, making their familiars send it. 10am by the square, Aizu glanced at the clock and it read 8am. It's still very early to go to the square so she jumped off your seat and ran outside her room. The servants and everyone else are busy these days, probably because they have heard about the bad news and knew that the kingdom will probably crash down into a pile of rubble. "Good morning your majesty, would you care for a cup of tea?" A maid asked, her name was Miwa. Her bright smile was rather contagious so Aizu felt herself unconsciously smile as well despite the bad things happening. "Would you like some earl grey or jasmine?" "Some Jasmine tea would be nice.." Aizu replied making the Miwa nod. "I'll have miss Asami prepare it for you, I still have to fold the newly washed white sheets for the upcoming visitors" she bowed down before walking to the other end of the hallway. It wasn't before Suzume and Arisu accompanied Aizuto the dining area. The four are the maids whom she's the closest with. The five were practically best friends ever since they started working here. Arisu and Miwa keep on telling her some encouraging words to face forward and that her parents are always proud of her back when they were still alive. When the three of them arrived at the dining area, the room was very huge. Chandeliers were hanging up from the ceiling, a long table with a white tablecloth is at the center with at least 50-70 white chairs, all with gold colored butterflies as their decoration surrounding it. Asami was finishing up Aizu's breakfast which consists of three stacks of pancakes with sugar dusted on top. Chocolate syrup is drizzled on the side and on top, strawberries are also scattered from the top to the bottom and of course, a cup of Jasmine tea by the side of it. She knew that Aizu's favorite side of the table was the one, two seats away from the middle chair in which her father sits on. When Aizu was still little, her brother would always sit next to her while her mother was at the seat in front of her brother. Aizu could still remembered her brother's face but it was a little blurry, oh how she missed him and the memories of them together. "You're meeting up with Sir Azusa after breakfast right mistress?" Suzume whispered to her ear as the princess eat the pancakes that the chefs had made. "You know.. I have always thought that you two make a cute couple together.." Aizu choked on her pancakes which made Asami and Arisu worry but the princess instinctively washed it all down with your tea. "Suzume! What did you told the princess that made her choke on the food?!" Asami crossed her arms, "Goodness, are you alright now? Here have some napkins" A smile appeared on Aizu's lips as she gave a nod towards her worrisome friend. She pushed the chair back and faced the three of them, "I would like to get ready for meeting up with Azusa now" Arisu nodded as she accompanied Aizu to her own quarters. Suzume was left in the dining room to clean up things. It was not long before Asami entered the dining room with some clothes and dresses hanging on her arm. "Let's go to your bedroom now, shall we..?" With her friends, Aizu started to forget that she's feeling quite glum. With them by her side, she forget about her worries for the future and she'll sure that she'll pass by every problem she will face with them encouraging her along the way. But she can't shake off the fact that she was deciding to leave the kingdom and start a fresh life somewhere far, far away from the kingdom. Not yet.. She thought to herself while giving her friends a smile to calm them down since they were playfully fighting each over the outfit they're deciding on what she'll wear. Miwa and Suzume quietly entered her bedroom and the four admired how gorgeous Aizu looked. The princess stood up and twirled around, smiling at how lucky she is to have her four friends here behind her back. After the four maids were done dressing her up, Aizu luckily managed to convince them to let her wear a simple yellow dress. But they didn't let you go off easily, Miwa styled your hair into a messy bun with little white colored flowers stuck on them. The chauffeur delightedly took Aizu to the place where she told Azusa where to meet her. She didn't know this but the chauffeur also thinks Azusa could be a good partner for her someday, besides he's quite famous with his magical abilities. The atmosphere in the square was thick and quite awkward. People were busy crowding at a corner, talking about the recent death of the king and queen. They were discussing about the kingdom, worriedly thinking if it will fall down. "M'lady, I believe you should wear a hood. We don't want the people crowding over you" the chauffeur kindly gave Aizu a black colored hood that covers your head up to your toes. It seems shady for most people in the modern days but these are the hood that people in the kingdom uses. "Here, I'll send a magic note to Mr. Azusa to tell him that you're going to meet him in an alley okay?" With a nod, Aizu tucked herself with the hood and quickly walked towards an alleyway carefully so her heels won't cause any sound. So, I'm going to shield myself from the villagers for the rest of my life? A thought ran past through her making a sigh escape her lips. Luckily, the alleyway that her chauffeur led her to an entrance of an, old yet a familiar library. It had a huge window, displaying the books inside and Aizu caught a glimpse of a certain boy with jet black hair which seems to be writing something on a notebook. A small smile appeared on her features as she push the door towards the library. The door gave off a small creak and made the small bell on the corner ring out as a signal that there's a newcomer. "Azusa" She softly said while sitting on the chair in front of him. The hood Aizu is wearing was slowly sliding off so she just removed it. Besides, she and Azusa usually hand out inside the library making the librarian be familiar with your face. "Aizu," Azusa sighed and placed his pen down on the table. "Alright so, explain to me your plan on leading this kingdom without making it fall into poverty or something" A cheeky grin appeared on Aizu's face as she fiddle with her fingers under the table, "Aha, about that.." Azusa wore a pretty bored expression but soon it broke into a disappointed one. He shook his head and closed the book he's writing on, "Don't tell me you don't have a plan yet.. Aizu..  the whole village is planning on raiding the castle tomorrow at dawn! Please tell me you at least have anything to say to them.." An awkward silence wafted around the two of them. "Ah well you're doomed" Azusa sighed and grabbed a book from the side of the table and began reading it. "It was nice meeting you, being a princess is tough, no?" Aizu's smile turned into a pout while your eyebrows turned into a frown. As usual, Azusa is always unenthusiastic about these kinds of things. Besides, he's a famous wizard. Money won't be an issue to him since he could easily transfer kingdoms. "Why did I even have a friend like you.." she muttered, "But I have a plan that would probably wipe this kingdom out of the map.." Azusa raised an eye brow and peeked at you for a second, "Go on.." "I was planning summoning a huge monster, a basilisk maybe?" Aizu muttered but then upon thinking, she might cause a death of a thousand making things worse that it was already is in her kingdom. "Wait.. no.." "Did you seriously thought of summoning a mythical creature tomorrow?" Azusa exasperatedly sigh, "At this rate I think that our kingdom will be doomed even if you're ruling it!" Overhearing the conversation, a certain boy suddenly popped out from behind the bookshelves and slammed his hands against the wooden table.
