CHAPTER 3: THE NEXT DAY

'You literally blew the entire contract. I had to salvage what was left. Luckily she likes you so she signed the papers." Austin ranted. He has been in a bad mood since we came back from the meeting. 'What was that? Running away? Since when are you a coward when it comes to women? What was so important that you left in the middle of the meeting?' 'I don't know, she's the only one that has that effect on me' I said thinking out loud. I forgot for a second that Austin was here. 'What!!! Who?' 'My mate' Austin was confused and speechless. I could see why, I stopped talking about it a long time ago. 'I found her. She was there, at the bar' 'So? what's her name? what pack is she from? When is the mating ceremony?' Austin asked all in one breath, I'm surprised he hasn't passed out. 'I don't know' 'What do you mean you don't know?' I tried to explain to him how I couldn't speak to her, I could only stare and now I may have lost her forever. My wolf Bolt howled in so much pain. What could I have done? She was perfect but she also looked scared. 'So, let me get this straight, you found your mate then lost her because you couldn't say hi?' Austin summarized my agony in such a shameful way. I glared at him and he got the message, I was getting agitated. 'What do you want to do now?' Austin finally asked the most important question. 'Obviously, look for her', I barely stopped myself from screaming. Austin looked confused, I can not blame him, the city was huge. How could we possibly find her in this city, what if she's a visitor, a tourist and she just came to the bar for one night? ..... MEANWHILE AT ELSA'S HOUSE I was enjoying the pleasant peace that sleeps bring when I was suddenly being shaken violently. 'What gives?' I asked annoyed at being woken up. I remembered the outing and the strange feeling and quickly sat up. Everyone was awake, 'I have a bad headache', Chelsea complained while holding her head. 'Elsa, you got any hangover medicine?' Ava asked. 'I don't, why would I have medicine that cures the aftermath of alcohol? Me? The one who doesn't drink?' I said sarcastically. I love my friends but sarcasm is my default in the morning. 'My mum might know what to do though' I said already walking out the door towards her room. I knocked gently, 'Elsa, you're up early' My mum's voice came from behind me, I remembered she woke up before everyone in the house so she wasn't going to be in her room. 'Yes, the gang's wake' 'oh, let me guess they all have a headache and bad mood?' I nodded as I followed her to the kitchen. My mum is the best, she somehow always know what I need before I even say it. I don't know what I will do without her and I knew secretly, I was my mum's favorite, being the only girl and the last child. I have three older brothers but they are in boarding school. I miss them but Dad says boarding school will shape their character. 'Call your friends down, breakfast will be ready in a few minutes. Also, give them this' She hands me a tray with glasses filled with a light green liquid. I'm glad I don't have to drink that, it looks disgusting. I got upstairs with much difficulty, you try climbing a flight of stairs whilst balancing a tray with four tall glasses of disgusting juice, but somehow I survived and got to my room. 'Here, this should make you feel better'. They didn't appreciate the taste but by the time we were done with breakfast, they seemed a lot better. Ava and I helped clear the dishes, while the others called their parents to come pick them up. This is the right moment to bring up the feeling at the bar. 'Ava, at the bar yesterday, I got a weird feeling. It was like someone was watching me but no one seemed to be watching at me when I looked around' I explained to her exactly what happened yesterday. 'It's a bar, a lot of people are drunk, perverts or just plain creepy. Maybe someone was admiring you, who knows? I'm just grateful you brought us home safely. This is why it's good to have a reasonable friend on our side' Ava smiled. 'What would you do without me?' 'Be left at the side of the road to somber up and no warm home made breakfast in the morning, just cold concrete' I laughed at her response. I knew Ava was right about the bar but I also knew my feelings was not wrong. There's something more to the staring but I guess I'll never find out. 'Hurry up Ava, your mum's outside.' my mum called as she gets ready for work. I should get ready for school, 'See you in school later, Elsa', Ava waved. I hurried to my room to get ready.
