“Kelly..” he uttered her name. The lust in his eyes was completely gone and his eyes as still water again.
His eyes looked at her with a seemingly steely decision, decision to send this little girl away, to send her far away from himself as possible.
Since the first time he saw her, he he sensed that she was probably a nice, gentle and good girl. She just gace up such a vibe. He just noticed it in the way she spoke, and her mannerism from her interraction that she possibly lived a sheltered life. He would even have a bet that she was raised to have a good values and grew up to be a decent and a loving person.
He could just tell because this girl’s eyes were so pure that he could see right through it into her soul. Unlike this, her eyes spoke of life, they weren’t dead and it was as if they weren’t able to hide any secret at all. His first impression on her was that she was like untouched river, clear and pure but also vigorious. But then she boldly told him that she wanted to experience that which she might regret later, even offering her self to him despite his countless warnings. What really made her do it? Was is stupidity or bravery? He didn’t know but her action kept on contradicting this judgement of her that he decided to believe that he wss wrong this time even believing that she was being coy to try and get close to him just like other ladies.
So now that he finally accepted that she wasn’t acting coy at all, he got mad, not only at him self, but at the both them.
A girl like her belong to a comfortable, peace and bright place; he possibly couldn’t introduce or bring her into this tortured and wicked world.
" look, i am not a man for you” he whispered with a stern expression on his face and before the poor innocent girl could process his word in her brain, the emotionless man picked up her dress and handed it over to her. " get dressed, i will wait for you outside the room " he added and just like that, he left. Leaving Kelly alone in the Vast room.
Kelly looked at her dress in her arms, unable to comprehend what just happened. The words " i am not the man for you” kept on echoing in her head non stop and she didn’t know why but it really stung her hard. She really failed, she tried her very own best to do anything and everything he wanted to prove her self to him but in the end, it seems her best wasn’t really enough.
So this was how it felt to be rejected? This feeling, she really did not know being rejected will make a person feel this way.
Kelly had always been the one rejecting her admirers. She had never been on the receiving end of rejection before. Maybe, no one had ever sparked her interest. Before now, She had not met that person who evoked that desire in her, to want to be with them. No one had ever made her behave this fearless until she met this mysterious emotionless man called Alex.
She clearly heard him, he didn’t make any mistake, it was so clear. He didn’t want her which was supposed to be a good thing.
Kelly’s heart was in chaos as she quitely put in her dress without blinking as if she was in shock. Off course she should be. She had already told him that she would come back ones she gained this so called experience so that she would pas this his test but the rejection that followed crashed her emotions so hard that she just tried to hold her tears from falling. She was caught so off guard with all this unfamiliar feelings and new experience that she didn’t even know how to cope. Despite her holdimg her tears from falling, the tears were treathening to fall but she just couldn’t let them. She closed her eyes and pushed back the tears as she took deep, steadying breaths to calm her mind and her heart. Ones she felt more in control of her self, she moved to the door and left the room.
When she reached outside and saw him standing in the garden facing the darrk sky, Kelly bit her lips. ‘No, Kelly get a hold of your self’ she inwardly berated her self.
The man noticed her presence and then walked towards her.
He led her silently down the stairs and out the building, until they reached the car Mr. Blue leather jacket drove to go pick her up. They both sat inside the car, she in the passenger seat, Alex in the driver’s seat. Still, no one spoke a single word. The atmosphere in the car was gloomy and dreadful and she wasn’t sure on what to do or say to make it better, while he sat, trying to concentrate in his driving and seemed not to care about the atmosphere.
After some minutes, the car stopped in front of Kelly’s apartment. The car sat idling, and Kelly sat still with no intention of climbing down of the car.
“Miss Kelly” he finally broke the silence and Kelly looked at him with a determined look on her face.
“Mr. Alex, what’s your name” she asked as the man’s brows slightly creased. " i am not going to climb out of your car until you tell me” she threatened and the man’s lips curved slightly. His smile was as the same like that first night they met. That very night he first gave her that wicked smile of his. He looked like he was trying to scare her again.
" Miss Kelly, i still don’t know why you still want to know my name, it is of no use because we are not going to cross path again” hearing those words
From him broke her heart into pieces that she was sure that it could never be amended till she dies.
He noticed her change of emotion, he smiled and said. " don’t mind me, i am just joking, just go home, i promise to see you when next wee see” Kelly could believe his words but she had to because he looked serious.
" it’s late” he said and Kelly immediately knew that he wanted hwr to leave”.
Unwillingly, Kelly glazed at him one more time and the opened the door and stepped out. She immediately ran around and knocked at the driver seat window.
As the window wind down, Kelly signaled him to move close to her because she wanted to whisper something to him. The man did what she wanted him to do with a deadpan expression.
Out of no where, a kiss landed on his cheek, causing his expression to change. His eyes widened for a split seconds before he turned to look at her.
" good night Mr. Alex, see you soon” she said before she ran away.
