Title: A Unique Journey Chapter 1: The Early Arrival In the quiet town of Genting Highland, a unique story began to unfold. It all started with a mother’s intuition and a father’s belief in the extraordinary. My parents, filled with anticipation and excitement, eagerly awaited my arrival. However, fate had a different plan in store for them. My mother, pregnant with me for only seven months, defied the norms of a typical pregnancy. My father, always the optimist, believed that being born prematurely made me special. He often told me that those born after seven months possessed exceptional intelligence and critical thinking skills. I can still recall the day my father shared the story of my birth. It was the day before, in my mother’s workplace, a toilet at Genting Highland. Although the details were hazy, I knew it was somewhere around there. My mother, sensing that her baby was ready to enter the world, visited the hospital to seek confirmation from the doctor. However, the doctor dismissed her concerns, assuring her that it would be a few more months before I would be born. Little did they know that my mother’s intuition was spot on. On the 12th of January 2002, I came into this world, defying expectations and proving that sometimes, even the most unconventional paths lead to greatness. From a young age, I understood that my parents had to work tirelessly to provide for our family. They often had to make sacrifices, such as relying on instant noodles during the last week of the month. My father would occasionally express his desire for something special, like seafood or his favorite fruit, Durian. However, my mother, always mindful of our budget, would gently reject his requests. With a combined salary of RM3000-3600, they had to carefully manage their finances. They prioritized giving me the best, ensuring I had quality clothes, nutritious food, and saving for emergencies. To allow my parents to work full-time, they made the difficult decision to send me to my grandmother’s place in Raub, Pahang. My grandmother, who was from my mother’s side of the family, showered me with love and care. Although I was too young to remember most of it, I can still picture her smiling face as she held me in her arms. She was truly the best. Every Sunday, my parents would make the journey to Raub to spend time with me. They would drive back home on Sunday night, exhausted but determined to provide for our family. This arrangement lasted for three years, and although I didn’t fully experience the challenges they faced, I could sense their fatigue and the toll it took on them. Chapter 2: A Sudden Loss Tragedy struck when I was three years old. My beloved grandmother, who had been a pillar of strength and love, suddenly passed away. The circumstances surrounding her death remained a mystery, even to my parents. They recalled a joyful conversation with her, filled with laughter and warmth. But in an instant, she closed her eyes and never woke up again. Confused and heartbroken, my parents rushed her to the nearest hospital, only to receive the devastating news that she had passed away. To this day, I yearn to know the reason behind her sudden departure, but I fear the pain it may bring to my parents. So, I keep my questions buried deep within, longing for answers that may never come. With no one to care for me, my parents made the difficult decision to enroll me in an international kindergarten in Genting Highland. The cost was significant, as I would be staying with the principal herself. My father informed me that it cost RM1500 to educate and care for me, a price they were willing to pay for my well-being. I felt scared and lonely in this unfamiliar environment. However, it was at this kindergarten that I discovered my love for learning. I excelled in English, Malay, and Mathematics, thanks to the guidance of my teachers. I will forever be grateful for the education and care they provided. Chapter 3: A Bond with My Teacher Among all my teachers, one stood out – my mathematics teacher, Ms. Anita. Though strict, she possessed a deep understanding and love for me. She seemed to know what I wanted and what I was thinking, almost as if she could read my mind. We developed a strong bond, and I found solace in her presence. My daily routine at the kindergarten was structured and demanding. I would wake up at 6:00 am, brush my teeth, take a shower, and have breakfast. The principal, Ms. Punita, would then drive me to the kindergarten. Ms. Anita, my math teacher, instilled discipline and ensured I stayed focused on my studies. Despite the challenges, I cherished the time spent with my teachers. However, the loneliness and longing for my parents were ever-present. I could only see them once a month, usually on the 30th or 31st. They would visit me, but their time was limited as they had to return to work the next day. Chapter 4: A Unique Connection As the years passed, I began to realize that my true happiness and memorable moments were not confined to my home but within the walls of the kindergarten. It was there that I felt understood, not by my parents, but by my teachers. The sacrifices they made for me became clearer, and my appreciation for them grew.My life as a child was a roller coaster ride, filled with unique experiences and challenges. Yet, I never felt regret. Instead, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the opportunities I had been given. My kindergarten years were filled with wonderful memories that I will cherish until the end of my days. Epilogue: Forever Grateful As I reflect on my journey, I am forever grateful to my teachers, especially Ms. Punita, the principal, and my favorite, Ms. Anita, my mathematics teacher. They played a significant role in shaping my character and nurturing my love for learning. Though my time at the kindergarten was short, the impact they had on my life will remain eternal. No matter where life takes me, I will always carry the lessons learned and the memories created during those formative years. My unique journey, filled with love, sacrifice, and the unwavering support of my teachers, will always etched in my heart.
