"My love", he says as he takes my hand and kneels before me. “When I first saw you, I felt my heart for the first time in a hundred years.” My face turned red and my heart quickened. I felt his grip around my hand tighten and he smirks as he adds, “And I don't plan on losing you.”Maneuvering through an apocalyptic world isn't easy. Alisa has learned to live with Demons, Werewolves and Vampires that are no longer a thing of fiction. After a simple errand goes wrong, she finds herself in a difficult position. It's not everyday you meet a King. What do you do when the King proclaims his undying love for you?

Vampires
I sigh as I look out the window of my hotel room. Hotel is a nice way of putting it. This is a room I paid for for the night, and that's pretty much it. I look around at the small room with holes and cracks running down the walls. “It could be worse.” I mutter to myself. Truth is, it could be worse. I wasn't around when the world was normal. I was only created a few months ago and the world has been trying to find a new normalcy for a few years. The world technically ended some years ago. Few people ascended to the great beyond and some didn't. Those who stayed got to see the world change into what it is now. Mermaids, Angels, Witches, Demons, Vampires, and Werewolves are real. All the scary monsters that were used for stories, were now walking around as if they'd been doing it forever. People are still scared of them but are now aware of their presence in the world. Humans still believe all the myths surrounding each supernatural being. Vampires don't have fangs or kill humans for blood but people still assume they do and avoid them. Blood banks were originally organized by vampires to help humans and vampires. Humans needed blood for medical reasons and vampires would take a small portion of the donations to feed their kind. Of course, there were still bad vampires who would kill humans but they were dealt with in a manner that was befitting their crime. Vampires are very proud and respectful so it's not surprising that they have systems in place for those who would break their laws. Because of how many humans stayed behind, the world still functions somewhat normally. Humans still work, go to school and sometimes donate blood. Most humans figure that donating blood is still important since it does help the majority of humans and it keeps the vampires fed. I guess they don't want to find out what happens if their blood supply runs out. Much like the vampires, I am also undead. I died, I think and I was resurrected to run errands. I don't have many questions or concerns about who I used to be. I just like finishing my tasks. "Get out! We don't serve your kind here!" I'm snapped out of my thoughts from hearing a loud voice screaming from outside my room. I get up and leave my room to see what the commotion is all about. I walk down the hall and to the main entry into the hotel where there is a tall and pale human-like creature standing near the entrance. "Food.. Rest.." It groans slowly while pointing to the receptionist at the front desk. A large man grabs the creature by the shoulders and begins leading him out the door. "As I said, we don't serve your kind here. Find someplace else!" He shoves the creature out the main entrance and slams it shut. He turns back around as he's wiping his hands with a piece of cloth. His bright blue eyes land on me. It's Abraham, the establishment's owner and morning bar tender. "Oh! Sorry for ruckus my lady." Abraham walks back over to the bar and begins cleaning the counters. I head over towards him and sit in front of him. "Strange. I thought vampires were more respectful to incoming guests." I playfully tease. Abraham looks up at me and slightly laughs. "Usually we are but in this case, I think we make an exception. You know zombies aren't welcome in town. They all know that but still try which is unbelievable to me." "I guess that's understandable but still, you could've been nicer." I sigh as I look around at the empty establishment. "You are probably right but I've got enough going on right now. The damn human teenagers thought it would be funny to vandalize the front door this morning. They wrote Bloodsuckers in red spray paint and it is possibly the dumbest thing they could've come up with." He groans and rubs his face. "I'm sorry you had to deal with that." I say with sadness stuck in my throat. "It's fine Alisa. It's not your fight." He hands me a glass of water as he turns away. The world is still cruel to those it considers lesser than. The majority of society does not like each other and zombies are at the bottom of the totem pole in this world. Vampires are the least targeted class but still deal with their share of problems from humans which is depressing in my opinion. You'd think humans would have learned that their actions have consequences but I guess the ones that were left weren't exactly the best humanity had to offer. "Also, you got a job." Abraham says as he places a small package in front of me. "Thanks, I was starting to get a little bored waiting around." I say with excitement. "Well then you're welcome! Make sure they pay up, those are quality moonstones." He says laughing as he adds, "Those damn wolves and their moon-related objects. I like the moon as much as the next guy but come on! It's a little cliché sometimes." "Yeah sure Abraham, whatever." I give an awkward smile, grab the package and start heading out. As I walk out of the Onyx Crypt, I see the zombie from earlier. He seems to be sleeping on the sidewalk but I'm unsure as he is sitting with his back against some bushes. "Hello. I'm sorry for how you were treated, can I offer you some water?" I say as I walk up to him and kneel beside him. His eyes open up quickly and he flinches as I go to grab water from my bag. He looks at me confused but does not object. I pull out a bottle of water and a sandwich then hand it to him. He grabs the water and food, and almost immediately starts devouring them. I give a slight smile and nod as I get up to leave him. "Thank you my lady!" He calls out after me as he continues eating. I wave back at him as I continue to walk toward werewolf territory.
