Xavier POV
Something is wrong! My wolf has been pacing around in my head, whimpering. I can feel it in my bones that something has happened. I'm not sure if it's a pack member or…. My mate. I sighed, My eyes began to water at the thought of her being hurt. She's so beautiful. I'm going to kill that f****ing bas*ard for hurting her. Now not only am I upset she is gone, but fueled by my rage that such a person would do that. Erg! I can't stay like this!
“We can find her, we can get through this. You wanna know what you do when you're down?” My wolf asked.
“And what would that be, big boy?” I asked him sarcastically.
“Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim.” He chirped, trying to cheer me up.
“Um, did you just quote dory?” I was so confused. Why isn't he upset!? He should be, right?
“Yes, I just did. And yes, I am upset. I'm sad and furious about all of this. But there's something to always remember, when life gets you down, just keep swimming. I know this is all hard, but it's supposed to happen. So suck it up buttercup!” he chirped again.
“Did you just use another line from dory?” Did he really though??
“Yes, yes I did.” He huffed.
“Thanks buddy.”
“Anytime.” He smiled. He always knows how to help.
“Want to go for that run?” I asked him. No taking that back because he started jumping and prancing around. Ha. Like a big puppy! Aww.
“Hey! Run! Now! Come ooooon!” He whined.
Alright. I plastered a smile on my face. I bolted out my bedroom door, turning down the halls, left, right, left, right. People stared at me as I ran. I have barely come out of my room for a month. I blasted through the front door, and ran into my father.. Smack!.Ya, right into him.
“Woah there, Slow down! What's got you in a rush?” He asked
“I'm going on a run!” I said quickly. He smiled.
“Okay. Have fun, be safe! Glad to see you out here.” He smiled again.
I ran right past him shouting I will dad, thank you! I ran as fast as my human legs could carry me, then when I got to the tree line, I jumped mid air. Shifting along the way. I landed on my four paws, and bolted. I grinned from ear to ear feeling the wind in my fur. Running fast, jumping, twisting, turning.
I zig-zagged through the trees. Dodging broken tree limbs, animals, pushed. I jumped over a tall green bush. The poky material of the bush brushing the bottom of my paws. I landed on the ground kicking up dirt. Bolting off again I jumped over logs and broken tree limbs.
Turning super sharp I slid, my hind legs drifting right. As soon as I was somewhat grounded again, I took off. I saw I stream up ahead. I ran towards it. Approaching it fast I slowed my pace. Coming to a halt my paws slid on the mud clay material. It felt cool and refreshing on my paws.
Also slightly sticky. Ew. That's not something I'm fond of though. I lowered my giant head down to the water. Taking a big gulp to refuel me for our journey. Now that is cool and refreshing, my wolf said. Sure is! I turned around and kept running. But my wolf decided to cool off alittle more. He sharply turned left, and bulted right into the water. My head went under, covering ourselves fully in the water. He slowly paddled his way back up.
Our head resurfaced, and he flicked and slashed the water. Finally he went back to dry land. Stepping paw onti the mud-clay again he stood there and shook off. Getting off the excess water to make ourselves alittle lighter for running.
Next thing you know we are off again. We ran and ran. I'm pretty sure we have been gone for hours. The sky began to darken slightly. We came near a large rock and pranced on it. The sky wasnt dark yet, but you can still see the moon. He slowly walked to the edge of the rock, peering over the land.
This rock was on the edge of a cliff. It felt like we could see the world from here. My big fluffy wolf plopped down laying his giant head on his front paws. He overlooked all he could see. This was the moment he broke down. Allowing all his built up emotion flood through the gates. He has been so focussed on keeping me okay and rage on his mate's father, that he has blocked his emotion. Tears flooded from his eyes as he whimpered. He let out small hines and howls. His thoughts invaded my mind.
“I'm her mate and I couldn't even sense that she was in danger. She's in pain and I can't find her! I miss her, and I need her.” he whimpered. We do need to find her. We can feel some of her pain. It's terrible knowing she is going through something, hurting, and not only can we not be with her, but cant find her. We can't comfort her.
“I miss her.” My wolf cried. He doesn't cry typically, but he will do anything for his mate.
“I know buddy. Me too. Im Sorry she left. I think she just needs time buddy, she is broken, he will heal her.” I soothed.
“We will!” He said determined.
Suddenly he rose from his laying position. Quikly sitting up. Tilting his head back, staring at the moon. He closed his eyes and howled.
He howled for her. For her pain. For his pain. For the longing of wanting her. For the suffering he couldn't stop. For the abuse she had to endure. For the fact she isn't in his arms. He howled for it all. He howled to the moon and his goddess.
