Riri's POV

When Rey came, I knew she was a little hesitant about the idea of being in Forte Woods, but I guess we grew on her. A few days later, she became more outgoing . I know the fact that I projected my emotions on her also helped the process.

I see Ella's hesitation about accepting her, but I understand, and I know it will just be a matter of time before they become tight.

When Rey left, I struggled to get close to people, make new friends. Ella came like an answered prayer and stuck around despite the cold shoulder I gave off at first.

Ella is Cynthia's younger sister. Cynthia is a female warrior who is also high in rank. She has been a motivation to all upcoming female warriors. Not only is she strong, she is also beautiful and elegant. She fought beside Alpha Chris 3 years ago when the pack was attacked. We all know she is likely to become Luna if unfortunately, he doesn't find his mate because she hasn't found hers either. Ella loved to watch her sister train and that is how she became close to me. My father is the general, and I am training to take over from him when he retires, which should be soon considering his peers retired a few years back.

I don't know how Ella really feels about Rey's presence, but I will have a talk with her regarding the topic. I do not want her to feel like Rey is here to replace her.

Now that Rey is here, I want to tell her everything that happened while she was away, but I can't because then I would be exposing our secrets.

I want to tell her all about how I discovered Raymond was my mate, and how I felt about that. Raymond and my story is the typical enemy to lovers story. I want to tell her about all the naughty stuff I have done or think of doing. You know the kind of gist girls love to share and giggle over, over a cone of ice cream.

That is why I avoid hearing her own stories in case she expects me to tell her mine too after hearing hers. And it kills me that we can't do that, at least not yet. Goddess knows I'm so curious about that Kenny guy.

My intention was to tell Raymond to help me beg Alpha to welcome Rey into the pack considering that she was previously a member of it already. Kudos to auntie Grace for successfully keeping such a big secret from her daughter. Raymond is Alpha Chris' younger brother, so it's possible he would be of help.

Reyna is suspicious, and thinks we are a Mafia family, and that is very funny. I love to hear her ridiculous conclusions. Wait till she finds out what we really are. What would I not give to know what goes on in her head?

A few human boys have taken interest in her, but I keep her occupied in such a way that she doesn't have the slightest time to spare.

Alpha Chris was supposed to come back next week from his trip to Gold Wolf pack where he went to try his luck with finding his mate.

He had better come back already, and accept Rey into the pack.

And to relieve Raymond of duties, so I could spend more time together .

We are in school, and it was almost closing time when I got a mind link from Raymond that the Alpha is back impromptu and requesting to have a meeting with everyone who was on boarder patrol while he was awake.

I leave with Ella for the pack house after hugging Rey goodbye and mind linking Ben to keep an eye on Rey while we're at the pack house.

Ben is Kev a Raymond's friend and he is the most levelheaded of them all. Ben and I once flirted just before I found my mate. He is pack the doctor's son and is training to take over from his father. I can see that he likes Rey, but as a werewolf it is better not to date and wait for your mate to be found in order to avoid complications.

When we get to the pack house, we go straight to the Alpha chambers where he usually addresses us to meet him. We entered the room, and immediately he started sniffing.

I quietly sat down and searched around the room for Raymond's face because I knew he was there. I could smell him. My eyes landed on him to find him already staring. I smiled and relaxed, so did he.

The Alpha searched frantically, sniffing till his eyes landed on me.

what happened? I said in my mind the same time, Raymond mind linked what is going on?

I don't know I mind linked back.

Alpha immediately got up from his chair and said to me in a deep voice, "meet me outside."

Hope I'm not in trouble, I thought.

When we stepped out of earshot, he began to sniff me more intently. After sometime, he said with urgency, "that is not your scent. Whose is it?"

To say I'm confused would be an understatement.

"Nobody" I answered without thinking, then I remembered I had run here with Ella. I added "Ella".

Oh

I was just with Rey too.

So I told him "I was with Rey."

"Who is that?" He asked with urgency.

"Grandpa James' grandchild," I answered.

And he took off in the direction of Rey's house. I saw Mario come out and run fter him too. It took me a moment to realize that he was going to see Rey, so I started running there too.

I used a shortcut, so I got to try first and climbed into her room through her window. I tried to make her get dressed, but just when she was almost done with getting dressed, Alpha burst into her room.

His reaction confirmed the suspicion I had the moment he started running to her house.

The reaction is nothing new to me besides I myself onced experienced it.

But I was as surprised as I could ever be.

Reyna is Alpha's mate?

How can that be?

"Leave us." I heard his thunderous command when he discovered I was in the room and I didn't wait to told twice.

They needed their privacy to experience their magical moment, so I jumped out of the window again, leaving them alone.

How is this going to work?

Reyna is human.

This is not the first time a werewolf has been mated to a human, but it is as uncommon as ever.

And this is the most unexpected case.

After they had their moment, Alpha summoned us downstairs. I badly wanted to know how she felt about Alpha. I just wanted to know if she felt the mate bond in the littlest of ways.

She was reluctant to going down, but I barely managed to persuade her to do so. When we got down to the living room, I saw Alpha bid her to go sit down beside him, and I smiled subtly.

However, she looked directly at him as she walked to the seat adjacent to him to join her grandparents. The defilement was obvious. My friend is a daredevil. Alpha didn't look pleased.

I need popcorn.

Rey thought Alpha is a Mafia boss, and her grandpa owes him and that is why he is there. I know her mind is so creative, and it makes me laugh.

Alpha tried to get everyone in the room who understood what had just happened to keep it a secret, but Rey having no clue thought differently and decided to make herself clear.

Rey took charge of the room and informed her grandpa to pay Alpha his dues and also informed Alpha that whatever her grandpa owed him was not her business and she refused to get involved.

It is clear that both parties were talking about different things. Rey ended her speech and walked out, leaving behind a displeased Alpha.

Before he left, Alpha requested to have a talk with me, and in simple words he gave me the instructions that I didn't need to be told twice to follow.

He said, "Look after her. She might be in danger, I'm not really everyone's favorite person. And I don't want a single word about this to be out. I will decide what to do with her in a few days."

I can't even decipher how he feels about this whole thing, but time will tell.

I feel so bad that I cannot explain everything to my friend.
