My heart wouldn’t slow down.
It slammed against my ribs like it was trying to escape—like it knew I had completely lost control.
I was this close to kissing Noah.
Dangerously close.
“What is wrong with me?” I groaned, dragging both hands down my face.

Goddess, Ben saw everything.
He had just confessed his love to me—actually told me he was thinking about rejecting his mate—and then, seconds later, he finds me wrapped in Noah’s arms.
I let out a frustrated breath and dropped onto my bed, careful not to wake Mira.
“Oh, goddess… what am I going to do?” I whispered to myself.
Mira, completely unbothered, was sprawled across the bed like a starfish, one arm hanging off the edge.
Of course she was sleeping peacefully.
