I laid on the floor, biting my lips and trying to control my tears. I could hear his growl and the way he barked commands.

Fiona was downcast with her head hanging low, she was deeply hurt by her mate rejecting her and now he was punishing her for being mated to him.

We deserve better than this, mate isn’t supposed to treat us this way, he is supposed to love us, She whimpered and I felt pity.

I was always the one with bad luck, if it wasn’t for me, she wouldn’t get rejected by her mate.

I heard a low and deep rumble that made my bones quiver, I raised my head slowly and my mouth hung open when I saw an enormous beast with a drool dripping down his lash being held by two guards.

The air was foul and filled with a tight and deadly smell, I sniffed slowly and the smell burned my nose.

Whatever that beast was, it had the most choking smell. I couldn’t breathe well, I tried to breathe clearly but my heart was stuck, it couldn’t pump blood.

My chest began to rise and fall rapidly, no… no way, why can’t I breathe? Why is my heart not moving? I began to breathe through my mouth.

I could feel anxiety in my body, my chest began to ache as I started hitting my chest rapidly.

What’s happening to me? Why can’t I breathe well… No, I can’t have an attack, not now! Not in front of Alpha Theodore.

I struggled to breathe but found it impossible, the whole room was suffocating and I began to feel the air closing in on me.

I was sweating and panting, pleading for my inhaler, I began to touch my body, trying to find my inhaler and it dawned on me that I was naked.

“Ah! Ah!” I coughed, hitting my pounding chest, I raised my head to see Alpha Theodore smirking at me, Beta was beside him, his eyes wide with horror.

Even the guards were scared but couldn’t do anything and only waited for instruction. I was staring into Alpha Theodore’s eyes now, coughing violently.

“Pl… ple… ease…” I pleaded in between coughs while trying to breathe in, my eyes were very red and filled with tears already but only a smile appeared on his face. He felt joyed to see me in pain.

He squatted, grabbing my open mouth roughly, blowing air gently into my mouth.

“You need air now right? The smell of Jackson is choking, unfortunately you don’t have your inhaler, what are we going to do about that?” He demanded with mockery.

My eyes were closing, there was no air for me to breathe in again.

“Get her inhaler and save her” He barked and dropped my face roughly. Beta Mason rushed to my body, holding my face firmly as he forced the inhaler into my mouth.

The misty feeling hit my mouth and I began to feel air flow into my mouth, my chest was still heaving up and down. He was pressing my chest down slowly and trying to calm my body down.

He put the inhaler, and I took in more puffs, my cheating beating slowly now, it wasn’t as frantic as before.

He removed the inhaler, leaving my mouth open as I began to take light breaths from the air, my red eyes were puffy.

Beta mason placed my head on a soft pillow, gently smoothing my hair and my breathing went back to normal as I drifted to sleep.

After a few hours

I woke up to hear hushed heated tones from Beta Mason and Alpha Theodore. I didn’t raise my head but I knew they were inside the cage with me.

“You can’t cage her here, it’s against pack rule!” Mason argued.

“I am the alpha! I make the rules” Alpha Theodore replied harshly.

“She works in the kitchen. If you keep her locked up here, people will ask about her! A lot of tongues would wag” Mason replied.

“She works in my kitchen! If I decide that I would cage her instead then no one can question me!” Alpha Theodore growled with anger and everywhere turned silent.

My heart was racing as I listened to their conversation, I would be here for a long time. Only the moon goddess knows when I’ll be free.

“What would you do about your mate? We both know that she might be your mate…”

“Mate? We both know she isn’t my mate and is crazy! If eventually I don’t have a mate… No, I’m not going to wait for any mate. I’ll get a chosen mate” Alpha Theodore replied and I felt a slight burn in my heart.

A pang of hurt pierced my heart, listening to their conversation made my eyes water, my heart was bleeding profusely.

Mate doesn’t want us, he doesn’t realize the mate bond and I can’t even feel mate, Fiona whimpered sorrowfully.

“Who would you choose as your mate? A lot of girls would die to have you, it’ll create a rift if anyone finds out you want to get a chosen mate” Mason countered.

“I’ll make Aletta my chosen mate, she would be a better Luna, she’s powerful and courageous, she’s completely different from this weakling” He replied and I could feel his burning gaze on me.

I heard a shattering sound in my head and my whole body shook violently, I could feel my heart tightening with pain. My heart failed and I stopped breathing.

Mate is rejecting us for someone else, I can’t accept that. I would rip Aletta to pieces, I can’t let her have mate. Mate is ours alone, Fiona growled and I raised my head to see them staring at me.

Distaste flashed in Alpha Theodore’s eyes and I shrunk back with fear.

“Aletta? Why Aletta?…”

“Did anyone say my name?” Aletta purred as she strutted inside with elegance and Fiona was filled with fury. She moved to Alpha Theodore and threw her hands around him, pressing herself into him firmly. She pecked his lips.

The way she touched him made my whole blood boil with jealousy, I could feel my inside tightening with anger.

How dare she touch mate? I’ll kill her! Before I could even try to control Fiona, I began to feel my bones shifting, the pain hit me with a slight nausea.

I began to experience the pain of shifting and after 8 long minutes, I was slowly transforming into my wolf. I stood in front of them, growling harshly at Aletta who had an amused look on her face.

Alpha Theodore was looking at my tiny frame with mockery, he was patiently waiting for my next move.

Aletta turned to face me, raising her brows and I scowled at her, Fiona was in full control now and she wasn’t listening to whatever I was saying.

My fangs were visible as I watched her intently. She turned back to Alpha Theodore and placed a wet kiss on his lips, this time around, he drew her closer, snaking his hand around her.

“Argh!” Fiona howled, furious that another wolf was touching our mate and rubbing her scent on him. It kicked in her animal instincts.

He’s ours alone! She snarled and began to growl as she leapt towards Aletta who had a big smile on her face.

Within a minute, Aletta transformed into a big white wolf with brown spots, she looked very large but not as big as Alpha Theodore.

She attacked me immediately, using her teeth to grab my neck as she flung me to the wall. I winced as I hit the wall, her teeth had sunk into my neck deeply and there were traces of blood on her teeth.

Her tongue ran over her teeth and I saw her tail wag, she pranced towards me slowly, watching me as I rose pathetically.

I was screaming inside, trying to take control of her before she did anything stupid but the sight of another she-wolf beside her mate drove her completely crazy.

She grunted at Aletta before running, she wanted to jump on Aletta and claw out her whole fur but when she jumped on Aletta, only a little shake sent her flying to the ground.

This got Alpha Theodore laughing heartily and it made Fiona stop in her tracks, I could feel her sadness and pain.

Mate is amused, She whimpered with tears as she sat on the ground and allowed me to come out. I sat on the floor, naked with a deep cut in my neck.

I was shivering with fear and wondering what Alpha Theodore would do to me. It dawned on Fiona now that she had acted completely stupid and we would get punished for it.

I raised my head to take a peek at Alpha Theodore and I brought my head down when I saw him staring at me intently.

There was no expression on his face but I saw that his jaws were clenched, even Beta Mason was still in shock while Aletta who had shifted back was standing naked and proud in front of everyone.

She had an air of loathing and everyone except Alpha and Beta were beneath her. She stared at me with a slight smirk before walking straight to Alpha Theodore who grabbed her ass as she pressed her breasts onto him.

“Chain her to the wall and wait for further instructions” Alpha Theodore commanded and everywhere went silent with dread.

Aletta began to cackle as they both walked out of the cage, leaving me broken and in pain.
