SOMETHING STUPID WAS RIGHT. Rory struggled up the stairs to the top floor of the apartment building and then made his way up to the flat roof, where he stepped out into the rain and made his way across to the edge of the building.
Carefully peering towards the front and the back of Willetts' apartment building, he could tell he was hidden from either Lincoln from this location. He set to work, setting the foot of the ladder a foot away from the edge and then getting the 32-foot extension ladder upright. Grabbing hold of the blue rope, he began raising the extension. Under normal circumstances, this was a two-man job. But the other man...or woman, in this case...had to stay with their vehicle.
