Sarah pov.
Five months earlier.... New York City.
Here, there's always life and people running from one place to another.
Big lights and a huge amount of cars filling the roads, all day, all night.
For some people, it's a blessing to live in such a big town filled with opportunities...for others, just a way to escape and hide among the crowd filled the streets.
No matter why you are here, work or pleasure, in general, it's a good place to live...but since nothing is always rainbows and unicorns, here, the night is also dangerous. when the parties are over and the restaurants close their doors, the crime and dangerous people jump into the streets to go out and play their "games" as well.
My name is Sarah , Sarah King... and little did I know that the same boring path I took every day for years to go home was the same path that would change my life forever.
Tonight, after a hard night of work, I decided to take a walk to clear my head. Stupid me!
It wasn't until the streets became increasingly empty that I realised I had lost track of time.
Checking my phone I saw the time, "Oh heck! almost eleven o'clock! Time to go home."
I began to make my regular way to the bus.
Yeah, I'm this sad 23-year-old woman who doesn't have a promising career and can't even afford to have a car, it's my life, it always has been.
Tonight I lost track of time, and with every step I took, I got more and more scared...there was already drunk, drugged and homeless people scattered around every corner.
I heard dirty comments as I pass by groups of drunken men and I hurry my legs to move faster without ever stopping. I felt a huge relief when I finally saw the bus stop a few meters from me, but I wasn't alone....
"Hey sweet-face! Do you have a light?" one of the drunken men asked me.
"no, sorry , I don't smoke." I tried to reply in a cold manner, but he took two steps forward me and I got more scared than I already was.
"What about a few bucks?" he asked me again.
Trying to maintain my blank expression I told him" No..." and then I heard another voice...
"I believe she said no!"
The voice behind me attracted me like a magnet and when my eyes met his, I froze, Tall, Ripped, Mysterious. Everything about him screamed trouble but I wasn't a bit scared!
I would say he is some powerful, rich businessman by the way he is so clean and well dressed.
I couldn't stop myself from noticing how attractive he is or ignore his muscles rippling beneath his clothes. His eyes...he held me captive with the most beautiful and expensive eyes I had ever seen.
They are like two beautiful burning daggers, intense but also so dangerous. It was like he could see right trough me.
"Ahm...Thanks..." I looked over at him timidly. " Don't thank me" his response came immediately.
"You help me out, why shouldn't I thank you for that? We looked at each other for a split second before he said "just don't!" with an insolent smirk flitting across his face and then he went to the other corner of the bus station.
I leaned against the glass , as far away from him as possible, but still seeing him from the corner of my eye. "Great , I need to stay here thirty minutes waiting for the next bus to arrive."
I could feel his stares and almost unconsciously I wrapped my coat tighter around my body ."Will you stop that?" I asked him reluctantly."what ?"he murmured. "Stop staring at me because it's rude and weird!" giving him my most spiteful look but he just winked at me...and knowing there was no point talking further with him, I turned around.
"So , what's your name? Rolling my eyes, I chose to ignore him.
"Are you ignoring me now?" he was going to make me mad, what the f**k is wrong with him? "LOVE?" oh that's enough for me...
" Can you just shut up and leave me alone? I don't talk to strangers so ...I'd appreciate it if you could leave me alone, so I can be left in peace to wait for my bus." I told him furiously .
"If you tell me your name ,we will not be strangers anymore." I sneered trying to ignore his words but he start laughing, I cross my arms and stare at him with a deadly look and my eyebrows raised and he did the same...What The F**k ...is he really mimicking me?
"Enough!" I start yelling at him full of anger." What's your name?" he ordered coldly with an expectant tone of voice and I almost told him my name."Ohhh , I know what you did there!" I glared at him red in the face with eyes wide open and biting my lips.
"I've no idea what are you talking about."and we both start laughing.
"Well , that was nice....your smile." This man was something else, was quite easy to get along with.
After that, we remained silent for the next few minutes just sharing glances. He was smiling at me and his eyes were glowing for some reason that I couldn't understand, I couldn't help myself but to smile back at him.
"So... Can i have your name now? I'm Enzo..." He breaks the silence but I didn't want to answer him. He's devilishly handsome but still a stranger for God's sake...and then I heard a noise, I looked to the end of the road and it was my bus.
"Hey... Come on...Tell me your name..." The hell with it, why not...?
"My name is Sarah." As I make my way inside the bus to find an available seat , Ican see him looking at me from outside.
I find a place by the window and we look at each other until the bus took off and I am no longer able to see him.
Who was that guy? Why do I have this feeling that I wish to see him again? This is crazy!
