The Girl Who Remembered the Stars
The neon skyline of Neo-Tokyo 7 flickered as Kaito weaved his hover-bike through the towering megastructures. He wasn’t a hero or a rebel—just a delivery boy for the highest bidder. But tonight, something felt different.
His latest job was a simple package run to the outskirts of the city. No questions, no delays. That was the rule. But as he reached the delivery point, an old train station long abandoned, he found something—or rather, someone—waiting for him.
A girl, standing alone in the dark.
She wore a hooded cloak, her silver hair catching the dim city glow. Her golden eyes locked onto his.
“You’re late,” she said.
Kaito frowned. “You’re the client?”
She shook her head. “No. But I’m the reason you’re here.”
Before he could respond, the package in his hand beeped. The seal broke on its own, revealing a strange device pulsing with a soft blue glow.
“The key,” the girl whispered, stepping closer. “To the sky.”
Kaito didn’t understand, but he could feel it—a shift in the air, an unseen force stirring. And for the first time in his life, he felt something impossible.
A breeze.
A real wind.
And in that moment, high above the artificial skyline, the clouds parted—just for a second.
Revealing a sky full of stars.
