CHAPTER 02 Zephiel 's POV "Get out". I felt my voice vibrate in my throat as I took a deep breath, regret running through me. I cast an irritated glance at the scantily dressed girl seated on the bed in front of me. "Milord?" She asked, unsure of whether she heard right or not. "Are you deaf?" She shouldn't get me upset this early morning. "Alice or whatever you call yourself, get the f**k out!" She scrambled for the rest of her clothes, that is if she had any, because I could have sworn she came in like that. Her head was hung low, and she bowed and made to walk out of the room. "Wait" I said, sighing and pinching the skin between my brows. An expectant smile formed on her face, "Yes, Alpha?" "Call in the first guard you see when you step out," I stretched and sat down on the damp bed. "Oh, and close the door on your way out." Soon it was just me alone in the room. Me and my thoughts. Last night was…ugh! What type of sick person was that? How could a normal person derive pleasure from pain, excess pain? "Alpha" A guard stepped into my room and bowed low. "Get me Ralph" I said, and in a few minutes, he was standing before me. "You sent for me, Milord?" I eyed him as I picked up my shirt that was hung on the bedpost and wore it, "Ralph" "Milord?" He answered, hands folded neatly in front of him. "When I asked you to bring me a woman, what did I say?" Ralph looked slightly confused, "you asked for someone beautiful…alluring to the eyes." I nodded as I finished buttoning the shirt, "Yes," I said as I grabbed a pair, "and I'm sure I didn't ask for an insane person." Ralph blinked in confusion, "how so, Milord?" I sighed and stepped closer to him, "What kind of person derives pleasure from pain?" Ralph looked speechless. I'm sure he was shocked as well. "Next time, if I ever ask you to bring me a woman, don't ever bring me someone like that." "Yes, Milord…but I thought…" I stared at him, "Thought what?" He looked away. He couldn't say it, but I already knew what he thought. I took a step forward, "You thought that since I'm such a monster, I would like someone who would find pleasure from the pain I always inflict, isn't that right?" "No… Milord," he shook his head as he stammered, looking for what to say. "It's not that, Milord…I just." "Enough, Ralph," I sighed deeply. I really didn't have the strength for this, so early in the morning. I didn't care what he or anyone thought anyway. Except they were Celine. He quickly bowed in apology, "Yes, Alpha. I apologize for…what happened." "It's fine. You can leave", he bowed and left. That person, that woman, Alice or Alicia or whatever, was someone I will never like to be around, ever again. I felt like she was encouraging that evil in me, that dark thing that ignites fury from deep within. Fury and rage were getting harder to control. I remembered that even when I didn't want to hit her, she'd beg me to. "Please, Alpha" she had begged, crawling towards me with an obvious bruise on her cheek. "What?" I had been confused as to why she was begging and still coming closer. "Hit me. Please hit me…." I had hit her, "Hit me again, harder…f*ck! Hit me harder! And I hit her again, watching as she climaxed heavily on herself. I sighed as I walked out of the room. What a crazy night that was. Instead of pleasure, it was filled with pain. Pain that was constantly asked for. That was just sick. Walking along the hallway, I stopped right in front of the Alpha chambers that I had Celine locked up in. "Milord" the two guards there bowed in greetings to me. "You're dismissed from here" I said simply, and I watched them leave. Walking to the door, I sighed, contemplating whether to knock or push it open, then I remembered that I had it locked from outside. Opening the door, I was about to take a step in the direction of the door leading to the bedroom when I saw something curled up on the floor a few steps in front of me. Taking a step forward, I found out it wasn't a thing but a person. It was Celine. She was on the floor, her knees folded to her chest, hands wrapped around them.. Fast asleep. I squatted over her and couldn't help but smile at how cute she looks right now. Her red hair seems to always have these wild beautiful curls in the morning that look like spun fire. Ah, she must be so uncomfortable, lying like that. I gently picked her up, the smell of her roses wafting into my nose as I went into the bedroom to lay her gently on the bed. I noticed she had changed her dress and I tried not to think about what happened last night. She looked like an angel right now, the sunlight that pierced through the lace curtains on the window shone on her. I was tempted to touch her. I leaned in closer and gently, ever so gently, pushed the strands of hair away from her face to look at her. "Hmm…" she mumbled, shifting to lay on her side. I leaned in closer and again the wonderful scent of roses drifted from her. Her pink and soft looking lips were parted as she breathed in and out and they quivered slightly… Heavens! I wanted too badly to…to capture them on my own. I leaned closer again until my lips were hovering above hers…but I…I couldn't. I just couldn't. Sighing defeatedly, I walked gingerly out of the bedroom to leave her to rest. When I opened the door that exits the Alpha chambers, I was surprised to see Ralph right outside. "Milord" He bowed. I raised an eyebrow, "What are you doing here, Ralph?" Beta or not, I didn't exactly like this guy and I didn't like the fact that he was hanging around here and close to Celine. "I..uhh…I have something to tell you, Milord. Something that you will find…to be in your favor" I rolled my eyes and made to walk away, "What is it this time? Someone has something to say about my leadership?" He immediately caught up to me, "No, no Alpha, not that." I stopped, "Then it's nothing important then" I said, before I continued walking. "Milord, it's about Celine", I stopped. "What about her?" Ralph cleared his throat, "Milord, I've noticed that for a while now you've been…trying to win the Luna's favor". He was right, but I wasn't going to admit it to him. I just waited for him to continue. "I know a way you can do that, Milord. A way you can make….her happy" Was that even possible? If it was, then of course I'd do it. "Okay?" I tried to look as uninterested and nonchalant as possible. "Yes, Milord and I can help you. I just need your permission to invite her friends over" Wait. What was he talking about? Celine had friends? "What friends?" "Elena and Eliza Aegenwulf. They are Celine…I mean, the Luna's best friends." "Aegenwulf? Isn't that your last name?" He bowed, "Yes, Milord. The ladies I speak of are my younger sisters" Well! The surprise keeps on coming. So Ralph here has siblings who turn out to be Celine's best friends? People I didn't even know existed until like a few seconds ago. "Right", I frowned. "Yes, Milord. So if you could just..." "Thank you, Ralph. You've been most helpful". I gave him a hard stare that spoke volumes on what I truly meant. He gave an awkward smile as he bowed. Tsh! I don't need his 'advice' on how to make MY wife happy. Though, the thought of Celine even sparing me a smile was something I wanted to see badly. I have never seen her smile before. Does she have dimples when she smiles or does her beautiful eyes twinkle even more? I looked up to see Ralph already turning away. I swallowed my pride. The pride that wouldn't let me be vulnerable or ask for help. "Ralph." He turned and walked closer. "Milord?" "I'm sure they can make it a little after breakfast time, can't they?" A boyish grin started spreading along his face, but he held it in, "Yes, Milord. I'll send for them right away" Well, Zephiel . I think this is a huge step to close the gap between both of you. The feeling that I could make her happy made me…happy. It was strange, but I never actually liked to see her sad. It really affected me. To see her smile. Ah. I could already smile just thinking of her happiness. I started thinking of other ways to make her happy, something spectacular that I could do. A brilliant idea just hit me! Breakfast. I could make her breakfast! Sighing contently, I walked straight in the direction I hoped was the kitchen, on my way to prepare breakfast for my wife. I liked the sound of that.
