Chapter 4 Tia? Pure Girl? Save it!

606 Words
Mariana gazed out of the window, and suddenly, a familiar face on the roadside billboard caught her eye. It was Tia. In these five years, she didn't know what happened to Tia, but somehow, Tia went from an unknown female student at an art school to a household name. Among the words used to describe her, the concept that struck Mariana most was "pure girl". 'Pure girl? Bah,' Mariana gave out a cold laugh at the bottom of her heart. As far as she knew, Tia had switched boyfriends constantly in high school, and when she entered art school, she quickly attached herself to a rich boy. Her school life had been extravagant and indulgent. Now, however, she had somehow transformed into a "pure girl" in the eyes of men. The world was not fair. Mariana lowered her head and held her two children tightly in her arms. She didn't want to dig into the past grudges. Her only goal now was to raise the two little ones. Nothing else mattered. The two little ones, seemingly tired, rested in her arms, their eyelids growing heavy. Carolina couldn't hold it any longer, so she fell asleep quickly. Jeremy was like a little man. Although he was also sleepy, he managed to stay awake. 'Mommy will have to hold Carolina in her arms later. I hope she could at least have a rest in the car,' thought Jeremy, as he fought to stop himself from falling asleep. "Mommy, look! That building is so tall!" Jeremy suddenly exclaimed, pointing at a towering skyscraper outside the window, which seemed to pierce the clouds. Mariana looked in the direction of his finger. Indeed, among many high-rises, two of them stood out. The incredible thing was the array of sky bridges that connected the two buildings, representing both power and influence. "Yeah, it's impressive," Having heard Jeremy, Mariana replied, smilingly. "I really wish I could go in and take a look," Jeremy said, his voice full of curiosity. Mariana burst out in laughter and rubbed his little head. "Those are office buildings. They won't let you in." Jeremy pursed his beautiful and thin lips. Hearing his mother's words, he felt a little disappointed. Those iconic buildings were called Imperium Edifice, a symbol of the owner's supreme authority in America, and that of the owner's wealth. At that very moment, on the first floor of Imperium Edifice, a silver Pagani sports car was parked in front of the hall. A young woman wearing a fish-tailed skirt stepped out of the car. Her wine-red, wavy hair cascaded down, giving her an alluring, seductive appearance. Her three-inch high heels made no sound as she gracefully stepped on the fine carpet. Tia then headed towards the elevator. She pressed the button for the sixty-sixth floor. She set her mind. 'No matter what, I'm gonna invite Bernard tonight to my birthday party.' Tia lifted her enchanting long hair and intentionally gathered her hair to her right chest, revealing her snow-white and beautiful neck. Having been in the show biz for a long time, she knew clearly what style men liked. The heavy door of the president's office of Imperium Edifice was pushed open by the assistant, and Tia walked in gracefully. In the spacious and bright office, there was a black desk in the middle. The entire office was designed in shades of black, white, and grey, a cool, modern aesthetic that matched the owner's temperament. When Tia stepped in, her charming eyes fixed on the man sitting behind the desk. In an orthodox black suit and a black shirt, he exuded a regal and mysterious demeanor.
