Piper was trying not to panic or get too worked-up, but given that Autumn had texted her saying she was having an impromptu visit with Dalton and now calling her and saying this… well, it was proving hard to stay calm.
“I may have given away I knew about the rumor, but I don't know for sure."
Piper held the phone away from her face as she silently screamed at the ceiling.
Composing herself, she returned the phone to her ear.

Autumn rattled off the lie that Dalton had told her and Piper couldn't stop herself from laughing.
