Cafe

I just stared at Augustine. She looks so pretty when she's serious. She obviously loves leading people. Everyone voted her to be the President. I am sure that she has already forgotten about me. Mr. Vergara leads a prayer before leaving. "Class is finally over. Let's go to the shop." I told Belle who was fixing its stuff. As soon as they finished, they suddenly shouted. "Café Val is owned by my cousin. You should all try their shop. They have delicious milk tea and some cold brew. My cousin makes the donuts, by the way." I just smiled at how my cousin is so energetic. They deserve the best. We arrived at Café Val, and I saw my Mom cheerfully entertaining the customers. She saw us and gave us a tight hug. "Your barista is handsome." Belle whispered to me. "He's straight." Belle frowned as I led them to the office. As we sat down on the small sofa inside the office, Belle let out her bag full of makeup. "Do you have friends, Belle?" "Yes, I have one, but she's from the other section." "What's her name?" I asked. I hope that we can get along. "Her name is Cindy. She's bisexual." "What is her type when it comes to girls?" "Masculine." I frowned, not because Belle's friend would be a future girlfriend. I frowned because I rarely find a feminine lesbian who likes feminine lesbians. The office door was suddenly opened, and I saw Mom go inside. She is sweaty and definitely looks exhausted. "Excuse me, Belle, there are a lot of customers, and I am having a hard time entertaining them all. Can you help me, Alex?" "Sure, Mom." I stood up. I wore my apron and my hairnet. "I'll be right back, Belle." I said as I went to the cashier. Mom is in charge of the payment and orders while I give the orders to the customer. We also sell fresh pastry. We had a lot of stuff to sell and were understaffed during the rush hour. "Alex, can you get me 3 glazed donuts from the back?" Mom said, and I went ahead to get the donuts. I am not bragging, but this is my donut recipe. So, I am proud of it. I put the donuts in a small paper bag. I went ahead of the customer. I was about to give it, but I saw that Augustine was the customer. I froze, and I felt my heart beating faster. She's so beautiful, I can't help being mesmerized. "Alex!" Mom said to me, and I came back to my senses. I quickly gave the donuts to Augustine, and she smiled. It made my heart melt. I wore a facemask to hide that I was blushing. I secretly watched her while entertaining customers. She looked so happy as she ate the donuts. Maybe it's her favorite. Rush hour is over, and there are no customers. I noticed that Belle also helped us. "Do you like Augustine?" Belle asked, and Mom heard them. "Alex has a crush?" Mom asked and came near us. Mark, our barista, chuckled. "Wow, my daughter has a crush on someone. Time flies so fast." "I saw her blushed when she saw Augustine." "Oh, so that's why she froze earlier." "Mom! Belle! Stop it!" I said and hid my face. This is so humiliating. ------------------------ Time has passed, and I still have a crush on Augustine. Who wouldn't? Call me a stalker or what, but I just love staring at her secretly. Even though she's not doing anything. She's the reason why I always look forward to my daily life. I am too shy to be her friend or even talk to her. But she always greets me whenever she sees me at the café. Radiating that beautiful glow and a broad smile. Why is this girl still single? I mean, almost all of the boys in school like her. She has a lot of suitors, but she keeps on rejecting them. Maybe she values her studies. They were still minors anyway. I sighed as I wiped the glass window of our café. I am too selfish. Deep in my heart, I am so happy that Augustine is single. Someone suddenly tapped my shoulder, and I saw our barista, Mark. "Hey Alex, Tita said that you should probably go to class now." "Oh! Thanks, Mark, I nearly forgot." "By the way, Tita fried too many donuts. You should bring this for your friends." He handed me a paper bag filled with donuts. "Oh, okay." I packed my stuff and left. Something is off about Mark. Why did he burst out laughing when I left? I saw him laughing through my side mirror. I just shrugged it off, and maybe Mark hit his head in the morning. That's why he's crazy. I arrived at school and noticed that only a few students were inside the campus. Weird. The classroom should be filled now by students. I went to my classroom and noticed that no one was inside. What is happening? I looked at my clock and saw that it was 6:30 in the morning. Damn you, Mark. I went to school too early! My class is at 8 o'clock. Damn it! I was about to go back to the café, but I realized that I was carrying a bag of donuts. I stared at it for a few seconds and left it inside the classroom. Hopefully, no one has seen me. After a few minutes, I went back to the café with resentment towards Mark written all over my face. Mark saw me and immediately ran away, laughing and telling me how much of a fool I was. Mom also laughed because she was in it too. I just chased Mark. "I am your daughter Mom!" "Tita and I noticed that you had not been in your senses these past few days, so we decided to prank you to wake you up." "I hate you!" I said and showed him my middle finger. I finally got to hold him after chasing him and strangled him. He's just laughing. "I can't breathe, Alex! Hahaha" "Damn you." I stopped strangling him and glared at him. I continued wiping up the windows, and when I finished, I went to school. I peaked at Augustine's desk before my foot touched the classroom floor. The donuts are still there, and no one has stolen them. I smiled as I sat at my desk and waited to see Augustine at the door. A few minutes later, I saw Belle, and they waved at me. They saw the paper bag and looked at me with a grin. "Is that from you? That's my Alex. Making her first move already." I pinched Belle's left ear and whispered at them. "Be quiet. Our classmates might hear you." Belle chuckled and left the classroom. Belle said that they would go to their friend. Before Belle even left the classroom, he smiled wide and waved at someone. "Good morning, Pres!" And there, I saw the most beautiful girl in my eyes enter the classroom. Her hair is still wet, and she is wearing the most gorgeous smile that makes my day. As she saw the paper bag on her desk, she slowly grabbed it and peeked inside. She smiled and chuckled. "Donuts? Thank you! Whoever gave this to me, thank you!" She said and happily ate the donuts. Thank God she liked those donuts.
