Chapter Two: The Night that changed it all

It was a stormy cold night however they were celebrating  the news that their mother was pregnant again with a boy while also celebrating the fact that Dominick, Xavier and Dimitri had just completed high school. They had all sat down to eat supper together before the boys went out to party with friends however Morgana was sniffling because she didn't want Xavier to go out because she wanted cuddles since she wasn't feeling good and he happened to be her favourite brother, Elizabeth had been burning up with a fever which had Dominick sticking close to her, while Nyx was annoying Dimitri about which girl he was going to try hooking up with. It was Lizzy's not being able to keep even soup down that made up Dominick's mind not to go out with his two brothers even though both of his parents told him to go out and have fun, plus his twin brothers were bugging him about being such a nanny to their little sister who wasn't really all that little. However Lizzy adored her big brother and well he let her cuddle into him as they watched a movie since Xavier and Dimitri had went out to their party which had Morgana pouting in her room and Nyx hiding in her room doing god knows what, probably figuring out how to get into trouble.

About four hours into their movie night she ended up falling asleep which had her brother smirking with a chuckle only to shake his head since she was curled up into him under her blanket. Both parents had been upstairs and asleep. Dominick had moved to carefully pick her up to carry her upstairs to bed when the door opened to show a panicked Xavier who was covered in blood which had Dominick arching his brow while looking for their other twin brother who wasn't behind him however he was also trying to be careful since Liz was sound asleep in his arms "Where the f*ck is Dim, Xavier? What the f*ck happened to you?" He snapped quietly  which had Xavier closing the door quickly and looking frantic "I don't f*cking know Dominick. One minute he was beside me and the next he was f*cking gone. When I went to find him I slipped into a bunch of blood and came home, hoping he would be here." Xavier snapped however sirens could be heard heading towards the home and Dominick gave his twin brother a questionable look as if he didn't believe him.

The outburst had their parents wake up and leave the bedroom which their mother almost screamed at the sight of their son  "Xavier baby what happened to you? Wheres Dimitri!?" Alexandria almost screeched while trying not to wake up Elizabeth who was still sound asleep in Dominicks arms. Before Xavier couldn't answer his mothers question , Jeremiah looked over their son before looking at their sleeping daughter in her brothers arms "Dom, take your sister upstairs so that she doesn't see this. She wouldn't want to see her brother in this state." He told him which had Dominick nod however the sound of sirens blaring closer and closer to their house was concerning. It was when Dominick was half way upstairs that there was flashing lights right in front of their house then a knock which had all of them cringing. Jeremiah  answered the door to see three police officers with sorrow looks on their faces "Can I help you gentlemen?" He asked curiously while noticing that Xavier had moved out of sight from the policemen. The police officer looked at Jeremiah with a frown on his look "Unfortunately sir we come to bare bad news, your son Dimitri Romanov was found murdered at a party earlier this evening by the owner of the home. It appears he had his throat ripped out by an animal. We need you and your wife to come down to the station once your ready to identify the body." He told them which soon their mothers wails could be heard throughout the home, screaming 'My baby, my poor sweet baby.' as her body crumbled to the floor. The police officers gaze softened while Jeremiah's jaw clenched with anger "Thank you for stopping by. I will be down tomorrow to identify my son, as you can see his mother is in no shape to identify him nor should she be since she's three months pregnant." He explained which had the police officer nod in understanding "Alright sir, we're terribly sorry for your loss." The cop added before leaving. It was when Jeremiah had the door closed suddenly that had Elizabeth stir in her sleep only to open her eyes "Dommy.. Whats going on.." She asked quietly while looking up at him. Her hand moved to touch her brothers cheek since there was tears streaming down and well Dominick had pulled her close against him before kissing her head as he carried her up the stairs "Its okay Lizzy go back to sleep." He told her as he carried her to her room where he laid her down into her bed to tuck her in "Goodnight kiddo." He kissed her head again before leaving the room.

Dominick left Elizabeth's room and went downstairs to comfort their mother who was still on the ground crying while their father Jeremiah left the door to storm towards Xavier. No one expected the male to grab Xav by the throat and slam him into the wall "What the f*ck did you do to your own f*cking brother!?" He growled which had Xavier's eyes widen before shaking his head "Nothing! I have no idea what happened to him! I told Dom what happened!" He responded quickly. Jeremiah growled and was about to slam him into the wall again but Alexandria had got up and moved to put her hand on her husbands arm "Let our son go, he wouldn't ever hurt his own brother" She snapped which had Jeremiah's grip loosen up Xavier was free to move before his anger turned on his wife "Our son? He's not mine and neither are his brothers. Are they Alexandria?" He snapped in return which had her eyes widen as she took a step back. Both boys stared at their parents in shock "What!? What are you talking about Jeremiah they are yours!" She screeched at him which only had him laugh at her "No they aren't, their eyes are green and their hair is dark. Our girls are blonde with our blue eyes. Let me guess you f*cked some random at the bar because he made you feel better. That baby probably isn't mine." He responded coldly which earned him a hard slap across the face "How dare you! Get out and don't come back until you pull your head out of your a*s." She screamed

No one caught on that there was three bodies on top of the stairs watching the scene until Elizabeth sneezed which had both Dominick and Xavier look up along with their parents. Of course Dominick was up the stairs and scooped her up with a sigh "I told you to stay in bed Lizzy." He told her and well she sniffled "Are mom and dad breaking up?" She asked quietly as he carried her back to her room which Dom had shook his head in response. Xavier had walked up the stairs to scoop up Morgana once he had removed his bloody clothes for a cleaner pair to carry her to her room. Nyx had stayed waiting for Dimitri to come to her however she had no idea that he wouldn't ever come again. Instead she watched as her father glared at their mother before storming out of the house and slamming the door closed which shook the house. Only for their mother to sink to the floor as tears took over again.

That was the very first night that their father had come home drunk, claiming things about vampires and monsters were the reason his boy was gone.
